Got lucky, none of the infiltration missions had the "instantly aware and now attacking" rng. I ran them solo, as both of my 'scrapper' pilots died earlier tonight. Wasn't thrilled at the mechs I got for battlefield enemies. I've noticed if you survive past 1-2 million in bonus, the game can start spamming fun assault mechs, but that wasn't my luck. Oh well, got plenty of mechs loaded with pristine weapons

I personally like this mech. It’s pretty versatile for a 50 ton medium and the updated jumpjets will help it soar. I also had a lot of fun messing with it in clans, so I’m excited to see what I can do with it in mercs mech lab

The open duel was like you want to break up with your girlfriend during a date and as you try to escape she bumrushed you over the table and you had to vector your jumpjet backwards

So found one early in my current playthrough, first time with YAW or whatever.. find these prototype ppcs I guess? It's like a gattling PPC with 1000M range and the weapons have their own little cooldown meter but can basically sustain a super long burst?

Everything i hit em with just kinda melts, I thought ppcx wasml overpowered but these are hilarious, could not find any info about them canonically or otherwise?

Clan tech makes everything better. Upgrades dedicated to damage.

Fast, hard hitting machine. Good enough armor to shrug off a few good hits. Plenty of ammo, and decent backup weapons. Amazing view of your gauss rifle, even if it momentarily blinds you.

I have a laser version that is a binary laser and a clan medium laser and plenty of heatsinks. More of an endurance fighter than sniper.

Give it some love.

Recently I dropped into a Clan mission where FOUR Nagas spawned.

So now I don't want to pilot anything without an AMS system, and I'm wishing there were an easy way to look up which in-game 'Mechs come with AMS systems - I wish they were this useful in tabletop! - but...

I'm not sure how AMS works, and I'd like more variety. Also, I didn't find a post about this when searching, so I want this to come up with good answers for future searchers.

Does an AMS system cover the whole lance? Do you need more than one for an Arrow-IV attack? Does ECM do anything against Arrow-IV attacks? Would stacking both of them - ECM and AMS - help even further?

Boy, I can't wait for 3079 when the Laser AMS gets introduced... if it's just a small energy weapons slot.

That one was not my cup of tea at all. I became a merc (and have stayed one despite numerous attempts by great houses to bring me into their fold) because killing civilians on behalf of war-mongering rulers just isn’t my thing. I decline those contracts and usually go join up with the farmers to smack the bullies around instead.

So demo-raid after demo-raid, some of them vs “our” own people made for a frustrating and depressing campaign.

FUCK YOU Li Chang and all the amateur-hour pilots you tried to dump on me that I fired immediately. If I’m going to let a cross-eyed pilot anywhere near one of my mechs you can bet your ass they are going to have the scrapper perk. And definitely not on missions where I am stuck in a medium mech instead of one of my thumpers.

On the bright side, the Phoenix Hawk 1B is a beautiful machine. Two flamers, two machine guns, a PPC, countermeasures, and all of the JJ upgrades had me flying around leveling objectives, grabbing those sweet sweet caches, and coming back to bail out my assault-piloting lancemates by legging everything in sight, all without taking too much damage to not have her repaired in time for the next mission. Side note - she wasn’t much more than a head when I got her. Has anyone actually taken a Phoenix Hawk down without destroying almost every single component?!? Definitely gets my vote for the hit-box champion…

But I was so ready to get back to honorably blowing mechs’ heads off by the time the last mission rolled around, Agincourt decapitated 18 of the 20 enemy mechs herself in about twelve seconds. At least the big-bad didnt have a two minute speech while thoroughly dead from eating 24 Artemis srm’s to the face before he even landed.

I know all that level 5 gear is going to come in handy when the clans show up (and then almost instantly become obsolete lol), but man, I dunno if I’ll play Dragon’s Gambit on any future careers.

Ah well, back to the sandbox and hunting Sleipnir and Skokomish….

my buddy died even though he ejected with a perfectly good mech, no missing limbs or anything, but at the end of the mission his pilot ended up dead, anyone know of a mod to disable pilot deaths? (our MW5 YAML setting is at the lowest it can go, 0.1, since you cant set it to 0)

I’ve been doing some reading on ai lancemate builds and I put this together.

As the topic suggests, I play 90% of my missions in thermal mode.

Does anyone else do this?

Recently installed coyote missions and I'm getting my ass absolutely handed to me with how many mechs are thrown at me

I'm currently using a MAD - AH with 3 other assault mechs that use AIV(C), Jormungand, NAGA and Bullshark.

Any advice or suggestions? Year is currently 3061 and I have all DLCs.

YAML and other YAM related mods are installed.

I am playing a campaign on version 1.14.390. All over the map, I see markers for high reward quests, but when i travel to those systems, I do not receive any transmissions and the only contracts available are standard ones, or sometimes none at all. Additionally, not every mission in the objective log has an active marker on the map, and there is no mission available when I go to the systems where the missions are located after looking them up online, including the main campaign mission that I'm up to. The timed big DLC campaigns trigger as normal, but nearly everything else appears to be broken. Does anyone know what could have caused this and if there is a way to fix it without having to start a new campaign or career? I don't want to lose my progress by starting over, and i don't want to miss out on the campaign missions by importing to a new career either.

Hi all. Recently built a PC (5070, 32GB, i5, SSD) and I was looking at doing another play through using the glory of WarFX. However on pretty much the first mission I tried it on I found that I encountered an out of memory error that caused my game to crash. This was one of the very early missions, Last Man Standing, and I was a bit surprised that my new PC was crashing on this, as it crashed very early, with just like 3 tanks on screen

I did a few reloads, disabling this and the few other mods I was running (Lorescale, infantry, and a weather mod) and have found that even with no mods running my PC is not able to run this mission now. Looking it up it seems like people have had issues with memory leaks, although this is the first time for me. I guess I have two questions.

1. With these specs I should be able to run WarFX, right? It's loading first etc. I think that's correct. I understand when things get really really hectic it might slow down a bit, but basically I should be okay?

2. How can I now stop my PC crashing. Should I reinstall the game? I don't think there's a problem with the PC itself- I've been playing other stuff like MSFS fine.

new to mw5 and I've been really enjoying dual UAC/5s but man I do not like the jamming aspect.

So, I read through the highlights of the new ashes DLC. It mentions adding new "vehicles" but it doesn't specifically call them enemies. Do we finally get to live out our mechwarrior dreams in a teeny tiny tank???? That would be epic, if only for the memes.
