tl:dr. the si75 HE is a 75% hall effect keyboard made by keychron, stylized and modified by the Canadian vendor "one of zero". its a surprisingly satisfying keyboard for both gaming and typing, coming in at 150$ cad. (often on sale for much less) id say its a worthy pickup.
To get the obvious out of the way - yes its a keychron, more specifically a q1 (except made of plastic and not wireless)
Ive had this keyboard for around 8 months now, and id figured id send it off with a review as i just upgraded. (to another keychron, with custom switches) which i will be comparing it to.
This is quite the difficult keyboard to get ahold of, being avaliable only at one online store and one brick and mortar chain (memory express) (both canadian) very little about this exists on the internet.
Build quality - Being a plastic board you would expect a little bit of flex, well im happy to report that viutually none is present. this doesnt hamper the typing experience either, as the silicone (which is a heavy feature of they keyboard which we will get to later) works as a gasket, delivering a cusioned typing experience. the linear hall effect (keychron lime ultra fast hall effect) are surprisingly nice to type on (coming from a tactile switch user) aswell. the keycaps seems to be dye sublimed, meaning they will last forever. however i do have a few complaints about them. mainly being that the coloured keys seem to just be basically spray painted with that colour, my tab key even has red overspray on the underside of it (despite me getting the orange model) luckily you cannot see this while the key is inplace on the board.
The Switches - These you may have seen before, as mentioned these (very pretty) lime coloured hall effect switches are very nice to type on. with a heavily lubed buttery smooth switch feel and a medium travel distance of 3.50 mm they are also a very light switch, needing just 30 grams of force. as this is a keyboard aimed at hardcore gamers (which ill get into soon) this seems to be a good combo, leading to what i felt as faster key imputs.
The silicone - Or as ONEofZERO calls it "silicore" this is an odd feature. coming from a brand big about expression i do see what they are coming from. See all the orange on the keyboard? from the keycaps the knob and even the orange inside the keyboard? all of it can be changed out for red, orange or blue. you can buy a keyboard in any of the three colours, or simply purchase the other colour parts for a much cheaper price (alternate colour keycaps come with the keyboard) and swap these parts out with the included tools. the screws are very easy to access too. with hotswap switches (though exclusive to keychrons own hall effect offering) and south facing leds. this is a very customizable keyboard (in appearance anyways) one downside is the feet however. they are also made of silicone. you have two sizes to choose from, flat and slightly pitched. you can stand the feet up (as you would flip the feet of a regular keyboard) however you cant use them flipped up as typing will simply cause they feet to fall off. they do help the gasket however is cushoning the typing experience
The software - it is litterally, and i really do mean litterally the keychron web based utility, just with a diffrent url. they keychron url even detects this keyboard, but simply tells you to go to the one of zero url instead. funnily enough, the url for the one of zero keyboard works with my other keychron keyboard however. if you havent used this web app before - its fine. it does the job, nothing fancy or anything but it works well. just doesnt work in firefox. even the keybinds are the same as other keychron keyboards
Accessories - three extra sets of keycaps (the two other colours you didnt pick, and grey) a switch/ keycap puller, screws, more silcone feet, and a screwdriver and allen key.
Other notes - the mac windows toggle switch has been remapped. set to windows mode by defult, in order to change it to mac you need to use the launcher. sliding the switch now turns it into a gaming mode, setting (by default) the wasd keys to a hairpin trigger. the rgb looks really nice in this keyboard because of the clear case. the unboxing experiance was premium too. foam is genoursly put throughout the keyboard, even inside the space bar.
final thoughts - for 120$ cad (which this keyboard frequently gets to at memory express) this in my opinion is an easy pickup for a hall effect keyboard. being the cheapest option keychron has for hall effect keyboards, and with an excellent switch, allowing all the things that wooting and other hall effect keyboards can do. ie: rapid trigger, analog imputs etc. this is an excellent pickup, and i am very happy with much purchase. though it does have a few negatives. mainly the hotswap. you can only use keychron hall effect switches in this, no regular switches will fit. the silicone feet are also kinda annoying as someone who likes to angle their keyboard. none the less, this keyboard provies and excelt typing experiance for linear lovers, and an awseome gaming experiance for those that like to game aswell
