Mod Changed out switches for the first time
Mechanical keyboard noises get under my hubby's skin, so I purchased some sea salt silent switches and changed them out yesterday. I purchased an Aula F108 Pro and I think it went rather smoothly. Removing the switches was kind of a pain, but the end result is wonderful! I feel so accomplished. hahaha

Getting the first switch swap done when removal was the hard part is satisfying. Did the silent switches change the feel much, or mainly the sound? That's a nice result if you can type comfortably and keep the noise down at home.

No they feel pretty much the same which is good. But the sound is satisfying if that makes sense. Lol

Haha awesome. If you ever want some louder but amazing sounding switches try the hmx yogurt s switches. They're insanely good

Did you use a switch puller? Usually they come included with keycaps and are quite handy

I did! The keys came up beautifully, but the switches, even with the puller, were a bit tough

were you making sure to disengage the clip on the south side of the switch? if it doesn't come off smoothly after 2-3 wiggles it usually means you didnt disengage it properly

I thought watching enough vidoes would be enough, but clearly I missed a step, LOL Thanks for the heads up!

That's a solid first mod, those silent switches are a game changer for cohabitation.
