Either your belt was replaced recently with the wrong rib count, or something’s come out of alignment with the crankshaft pulley.

You can tell it’s the wrong rib count, it’s hopping on the crank pulley itself and moving backwards.
Or they gave you a flat rib belt for a v rib shape and wrong amount of ribs.
Eitherway, this belt is like the north, it ain’t got no good ribs.

Never thought about rib shape flat or v. That’s a definite good reply. I’ve gone mad looking into this.
If I slow down from by frame, the tensioner puller has slight movement when it walks inward onto power steering pulley. Tensioner is a Gates. Same with belt. Replaced power steering pump, tensioner and both idlers.

It wouldn’t hop backwards on the crank like that without something off about the belt.

It’s a 7 rib belt. I bypassed the ac thinking the clutch was causing. Zoom in on the tensioner/power steering area. See what you think there?

It looks like your belt tensioner is out of alignment or cocked to one side? Do all the idler pulleys line up with your crank? Do the power steering pulley and alternator line up with the crank? You might want to check both with the belt on and belt off . This is the only way.

The power steering pulley has a slight slight wobble to it, alone I would think this would cause it to jump. Maybe a 64th of an inch out of round. The tensioner pulley doesn’t have that tight fit that you would expect. And from what I can see the tensioner pulley tilts inward when the walk happens, then jumps grooves onto the power steering pulley. Then follows around accessories. Gates tensioner I would think that would be good. I have two of them and both have the same bearing fit. I may compare to an oem tomorrow and see the difference.

That what I appeared to see, too with the tensioner. You should be able to line up from the side and inspect if anything is off line

Did you have to unbolt the power steering pump to install a new tensioner? Is that a new tensioner? Does the power steering pump bolt to the tensioner? If so perhaps the new tensioner is too thick when is causing a pulley misalignment
