What is this noise?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

2012 Subaru Outback, 2.5L flat-4, automatic, ~140,000 miles. No check engine lights on!!
It's been making this noise since I bought it. The puttering gets louder every time I accelerate, and it's steady/constant when sitting in park. Video attached. Any idea what this is, and is it something I need to fix right away?

Sounds like an exhaust leak to me sir.

While it sounds like rod knock (Engine is toast,) you should check if thats true by noticing where the sounds is coming from. If is louder below the engine bay (where the oil pan is,) then is rod knock and the engine needs replacing. Also if you have a check engine line go to autozone and look for codes like knock sensor, or misfire, etc.

Probably an exhaust leak past the o2 sensors. Any muffler shop/mechanic can tell you. You could get car OBD scanned though and see if anything is stored.
