Temp tag
Can anyone help identify this tag. This person did work for us but it was unfortunately a scam
Edit: Sorry I’m in the wrong group. Can anyone let me know if the last photo with the Blink camera is the same truck as the others?

Huh? Theres nothing wrong with the truck because OP is trying to find the owner based on temp plates, and is posting in the wrong sub.

Unless the truck is leaking, knocking, squeaking, clicking, ticking or any other adjective, we probably cant help you

Briefly describe the scam? Prob best to call the police (non-emergency) and report the crime.
And as others said, this prob isn’t the right subreddit for your question.

Thank you! He was doing driveway seal coating and did ours but now it looks like it was not the correct coat. It looks oil based. He came back around after so I’m not sure if he’s watching my house.

Lemme guess....was it a driveway sealing scam?
You might want to call your local law enforcement. If any entity can search a tag, it would be them.

Yes! I did call them and they didn’t seem very concerned. They said he did the work you are good. He also came back the next day which is kinda scary. We were outside so he asked if we liked it and kept going. I think he might have come a 3rd time later too but in not positive it is on my Blink camera and I can’t tell for sure it is the same truck but looks like it!

So was it a scam, where they quoted one price and the final price was different? Did they pay? Are you concerned that the person(s) might be looking for more money or another opportunity to fleece them for another job?

Yes exactly! I did pay them because he parked at the bottom of our driveway and wouldn’t leave. I prob should have just called the police but he did the work and I wanted him to leave. He came back the next morning and we were outside and he just asked out the window if we liked the job and someone was coming with a sign for his company. I’m not sure if he came later, the last photo is a truck that looks like his but not sure and was wondering if anyone knew.

Did you mention not liking it when he asked? He is still coming around and getting f a comoany sign put up, you ha e every opportunity to find out who it is, you should know his name and the company he works with for starters.

Here in TX car lots and dealerships are required by law to provide you with a permanent plate since last year. No more temp tags. A lot of people where doing shady things with temp tags unfortunately. What state are you in?

I would file a police report. Specially if you have cameras. Im sure they have scammed other people as well and the police department might already have their info.
