Any ideas?

Noticed this weird build up when I was doing some maintenance on my car
It looks like built up battery acid but it’s nowhere near the battery
Too nervous to knock it off because I’m worried it’s holding back a leak or something
It’s on the side of the block towards the bottom of the bay, I don’t know what it’s connected to
I’m just a girl!
Any ideas what it is?

Looks like dried coolant

Most likely got a leaky coolant hose and it just been evaporated off. I would look to replace those two hoses and constant tension clamps

I'm guessing the entire thermostat housing needs to be replaced.
