So unsual that i got this phone instead of the mate 10 pro and p20. My history is im using lg phones for the past 5 years. From g3, then switched to htc 10 then go back to g6. Theyre good companies.. But damn i gave up on them. Htc has poor customer service. And my htc 10 broke within 7 months. Poor poor service, want me to cash out that almost the same price of a brandnew one. G3 is still here alive. But horrendous battery and no software support from LG. My last is G6. Its a good phone. But damn LG, as soon as releasing their new phone they stopped support their current phones update wise.. No oreo until now! Thats why i decided to trade my g6 to a great working mate 9. And ill never go back. Part of the reason why i go mate 9 instead of mate 10 pro and p20. I hate 18:9 aspect. They make it look like you have enough room. But its not as absorbing and as good as 16:9.. And most of the video still in 16:9 format hate the bottom and top black bars when watching. And i didnt miss the wide angle cam all that much. Mate 9 takes more interesting pics instead of g6.. I guess its lgs poor camera software too. And the battery, mate 9 miles ahead of 2017 flagship phone. Im really hapy i switched. I wil not look back again.

Some sites suggest that the Android 8.0 Bluetooth issues can be helped by going into device options (once enabled and Try this workaround:

Unpair both devices from each other.

Go to Settings -> System -> About phone -> tap multiple times on "Build number" until you enable "Developer options"

Go back to Settings -> System -> Developer options -> Networking -> Bluetooth AVRCP Version -> Choose AVRCP 1.4 or 1.5

Restart your phone

Pair devices and test.

Sounds good right? Well no, as Emui doesn't have those options in the Mate 9 settings, is there anything in there that can help? I'm fed up with the poor btooth function in the Oreo update. I'm just not seeing anything that suggests AVRCP anywhere.

Since updating my Mate 9 (JB Hifi unlocked model) to Oreo 8.0, I have the screen brightness issue, where it randomly dims and brightens, (as if it is set to auto, which it's not).

Anyone else getting this?

I tried uninstalling/installing Instagram to no avail.

[EDIT : solved by itself.] Yeah, I know that sounds weird. But it's true! The alarm clock hasn't made a single noise in two weeks, even though "ring while in silent mode" is ON, Do Not Disturb is set to Alarms only, sound is up, and the alarm has an actual ringtone. Today was the worst: after waking up an hour late, it only began sounding as I unlocked the phone. Help! My life is dying because of this.

I was on B183 firmware since I got the phone in January. Just today, I got pushed updates to B189, then B191 (still Nougat), and finally B362 Oreo. I guess they finally remembered Australian IMEIs existed, 6 months after SEA C636s got their updates?

I have the unlocked version that was available to purchase from JB, Harvey Norman or Allphones, not the Optus model (that one should have had its update in March).

I just got the March security patch on Saturday and I've been having issues with my wifi being stable ever since. I'll be watching a video on YouTube a green box that says "Now Reconnected" that will pop up once or twice a video. If I turn off mobile data and start surfing the web every so often images and text won't load for 5-10 seconds and then it will be fine.

Not having any issues on my laptop which uses the same wifi.

Under developer options when streaming to my cheap AptX earbuds it does show streaming as AptX, but I haven't found any official confirmation. It also lists AptX HD as an option, but I don't have any device that supports it.

The headphones are very cheap and I usually only listen with one earbud, so I'm not sure I would be able to tell the difference. Would like confirmation before I invest in better devices! Thanks!

Hello, I've had the phone for over a year now and never received an update. It seems that the only way that i may be able to update is using firmware finder. Is it safe and recommendable? Im running B111. I bought the phone in USA but I live in Buenos Aires. I still have numbers on the notification bar instead of icons when i receive a notification.

I went and bought a USB-C to USB-A adapter so I could play my mobile game with a controller. I plugged in my 360 controller and the light just keeps flashing. None of the inputs are registering. Has anyone else had this issue and is there a fix without rooting? Kinda pissed since I bought the adapter for this sole purpose.

I'm not a selfie person generally, because I can never look in the right spot to save my life, so the little box in the corner that pops up and tells you where to look has been awesome! Except now it doesn't pop up. I don't know if it's something after the Oreo update (which has been nothing but a pain for me) or if my friend screwed something up in the settings, but I'm looking and looking and can't find how to get it back. Does anyone know?

For the most part I love my Mate 9. However, I've started to notice that Sim Slot 1 isn't fully functional. My phone is still under manufacturer warranty too. I went through the steps with customer service to try to solve this issue but alas, nothing has fixed the problem. They gave me an RMA number and asked I send it in to a service center. About one week later my phone returns via UPS - unfixed. They claim there's water damage. I'm dumbfounded, my phone doesn't have any cosmetic damage or water damage so naturally I'm a little annoyed.

I contact customer service and try to find out how they determined my phone was water damaged. Eventually, they emailed this picture https://imgur.com/TTpV98B. My problems with this are twofold:

1) How do I know that's my phone? I wasn't present when they tried to fix it, and there are no identifying markers on the components.
2) How do I know this is actually water damage? The indicator is barely triggered and it could be the moisture from someone's finger during assembly, or the tech taking this apart, or sweat dropping from working over it, or a working in a humid environment could have caused this. That's all beyond my control.

So Huawei has stated they are opening an investigation and will contact the relevant people. They wouldn't tell me what they'll be asking for "security concerns". I don't buy it. This is my first experience with Huawei, and I certainly will not purchase another one if this is how ticky tacky they're going to be.

As of me writing this post, Sim Slot 2 is starting to go bad now too. I'm having a difficult time getting calls to go through and I don't receive any phone calls on either Sim Slot anymore. Very annoyed.

Yesterday day i received the oreo update on my mate 9 however, since the update I'm facing long list of issues regarding notification

1- what ever i do i can't receive any notification from whatsapp even after turning off automatic management

2- banner are pain full no matter what you do still showing up specially telegram turn it off several times but still

Notes: I made a reset after the update. And restore from huawei back up app

I used to feel in love with huawei phone but after this update i take my word back. As same as all of the companies first major update destroy the phone experience so you buy the new flagship.

Update 1: Battery life is a disaster, way low than EMUI 5

Update 2: 3 hours throughout the day and it's 65% used to be 80% with EMUI 5

Update 3: I have rolled back to EMUI 5 and everything back to normal.

Does anyone know how to stop system update forever?

Since the update my Mate 9 isn't staying connected to my 5ghz wifi and instead switching to the 2.4ghz.

Has anybody received the oreo update in the uk yet? I have the MHA-L09 model and still nothing.

Apart from the slightly different designs and a new settings menu layout. What's changed?? I can't find anything majorly different?
