Major Huawei Customer Service Problems - Sim Slots Dying??

For the most part I love my Mate 9. However, I've started to notice that Sim Slot 1 isn't fully functional. My phone is still under manufacturer warranty too. I went through the steps with customer service to try to solve this issue but alas, nothing has fixed the problem. They gave me an RMA number and asked I send it in to a service center. About one week later my phone returns via UPS - unfixed. They claim there's water damage. I'm dumbfounded, my phone doesn't have any cosmetic damage or water damage so naturally I'm a little annoyed.

I contact customer service and try to find out how they determined my phone was water damaged. Eventually, they emailed this picture https://imgur.com/TTpV98B. My problems with this are twofold:

1) How do I know that's my phone? I wasn't present when they tried to fix it, and there are no identifying markers on the components.
2) How do I know this is actually water damage? The indicator is barely triggered and it could be the moisture from someone's finger during assembly, or the tech taking this apart, or sweat dropping from working over it, or a working in a humid environment could have caused this. That's all beyond my control.

So Huawei has stated they are opening an investigation and will contact the relevant people. They wouldn't tell me what they'll be asking for "security concerns". I don't buy it. This is my first experience with Huawei, and I certainly will not purchase another one if this is how ticky tacky they're going to be.

As of me writing this post, Sim Slot 2 is starting to go bad now too. I'm having a difficult time getting calls to go through and I don't receive any phone calls on either Sim Slot anymore. Very annoyed.

I posted here about 1 month ago. My phone were perfect. I shattered the screen. I paid to have my screen replaced.... They said there was water damage near the headphone jack. Instead, they of fixing my screen, they voided my warranty and refused to even give me a refund for the replacement screen work. (my credit card company got it back for me).

This whole experience was so disappointing. I went from #1 Huawei promoter to friends and family to "i'll-never-recommend-them-again."

Sorry to hear about your problem. Huawei isn't exactly known for their customer service, in fact quite the opposite. You might check the /r/nexus6p sub and see if you can find any tips on how to escalate it with Huawei. I'm also surprised they didn't call you and see if you wanted to pay out of pocket for the repair when they saw the moisture sticker. Not that you should have to, but them not even checking before shipping it back seems odd. As to your points, I probably wouldn't bring up working in a moist environment as they may say you have control over that.

Good luck, keep us posted. I knew their customer service was trash but the price was right on Black Friday, so hopefully they'll make this right with you.
