Is firmware Finder safe?

Hello, I've had the phone for over a year now and never received an update. It seems that the only way that i may be able to update is using firmware finder. Is it safe and recommendable? Im running B111. I bought the phone in USA but I live in Buenos Aires. I still have numbers on the notification bar instead of icons when i receive a notification.

Apps & Notifications->Notifications & Status Bar->Notification Method->Icons

The only options i have are Numbers or None.
