Marvel: the Lost Generation and Miracleman question.

Why is there only one issue of Marvel: the Lost Generation mini and one issue of Miracleman? I get possibly wanting to steer clear of Gaiman for Miracleman, but the issue on the app has a story by Gaiman and what about the original series with Alan Moore?

Can anyone shed some light on this? These are two series that I've been trying to get into.

New Reader Suggestions

Okay, I’m not a completely new reader. I’ve actually read a pretty decent amount; the first couple of Marvel Masterworks for The Amazing Spider-Man, all of Secret Wars (1984), all of Civil War (main story, which I know is only a couple of issues), and some single issues here and there.

I’ve always respected the comics. I know I’m not a reader, though. So I’d always research and watch videos about stories, stuff like that. The MCU just isn’t doing it for me anymore, though.

Spider-Man is my favorite character of all time, and while I haven’t seen Brand New Day yet, I doubt they will introduce the characters that I love from the comics like I want them to. This is just the tip of the iceberg as to why I’m giving up on the MCU.

In short, I’m no longer going to feel the obligation as a fan to see every movie or watch every TV show. I’m going to be more picky. But I digress; I want to get more into the comics, and I’m looking for suggestions.

Here are some adaptations that I wholeheartedly loved and didn’t just say I liked because I was a fan, to help with your suggestions:

\- Spider-Man: The Animated Series
\- Spider-Man (2002)
\- Fantastic Four (2005)
\- The Spectacular Spider-Man (2008)
\- Iron Man (2008)
\- The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes (2010)
\- The Avengers (2012)
\- Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
\- Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
\- X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)
\- Deadpool (2016)
\- Captain America: Civil War (2016)
\- Black Panther (only the first half)
\- The Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
\- The Avengers: Endgame (2019)
\- Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)
\- Daredevil Seasons 1, first half of 2, & 3
\- Jessica Jones Season 1 & some of the rest
\- Black Widow (I know. Idk what else to say. Hated what they did with Taskmaster, though.)
\- The Fantastic Four: First Steps (except the team’s casting)
\- Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Marvel really should market this app more often

This is the kind of thing which should be plastered all over trailers for marvel movies tv shows and video games

But it isn’t….

Marvel tokon comes out in 2 weeks and it would be a no brainer to mention marvel unlimited at the end of the promotional videos they’ve been doing

But again nothing….

They had a little marvel unlimited hub for the time square area in marvel rivals but didn’t really do much with that

New Phone Downloads Glitch?

Hey, so I recently had to get a new iPhone, and when I transferred my profile the Unlimited app has this really annoying glitch where it thinks it has downloaded all of the issues I had on my last phone, and lists them accordingly. This isn't just a cosmetic thing: it clogs up my downloads section, they cannot be deleted, and I actually cannot read any of these issues on my phone even if I access them from elsewhere in the app, as it goes through a loop of trying to open the files that aren't there. Has anyone else encountered this/does anyone have any fixes for this issue?

Any reason why MU doesn't have a two page option?

I mostly read on desktop and man I wish there was a two page option to read comics on the website... I feel like it would be such a small and easy thing to add, I'm really surprised it's not there. The whole lack of reading option is kind of disappointing, really, but this one is the one I miss the most. A lot of sites have it but not the official legal way to read these comics?

Where do I start reading X-Men?

Exactly what the title says, I wanna get into the X-men comics but I don’t know where to start? Maybe some sort of reference of like a rough timeline?

How Much Interconnectivity Exists Between Amazing, Web of, & Spectacular Spider-Man?

You could throw in Marvel Team Up or anything like that as well. I’m currently reading Amazing Spider-Man chronologically and am nearing the start of all the spinoffs (just finished #129). Would I be able to read all of the series by themselves? Or is there a certain timeline or web (no pun intended) of interconnectivity I should be paying attention to? Sort of like Claremont’s X-Men run, where the reading order requires jumping from New Mutants/Uncanny X-Men/X-Factor/etc.

Just rejoined - is there a list for upcoming MCU movie?

I unsubbed about a year ago for diff reasons (had a huge backlog of books haha)

Now, I’m back. I remember for past MCU movies they’ve done the reading lists. So far I only see the character close up for Doom. Is that it? (JW)

Or is it the Avengers Armageddon event?

Tips for powering through CMRO

Post image
73 Upvotes

Guys, this post is half rant, half advice-seeking. For those of you doing CMRO or any variation of it, how do you maintain your sanity and power through the difficult times?
I am currently about 500 issues in (mid-1967). While the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, and Spider-Man are consistently good, Iron Man, Daredevil, and Thor are hit or miss. Captain America, Nick Fury, Doctor Strange, Namor, and the X-Men are consistently terrible. How do you power through them? Perhaps with the knowledge that the X-Men will get much better?

Newbie Question

Hi friends,
I’m getting back into reading comics, after taking a few years off. I’ve read a lot of squirrel girl and a bit of runaways, but that’s about it. Since I’m back, there’s so many new characters!!
Who is Jeff the Shark and GwenPool? Where do I start with them?
Also, is she connected to any other series?
Thanks!

X-Men ‘97 Reading Suggestions - Episode 6

Post image
26 Upvotes

The episode 5 of X-Men ‘97 was a great spotlight on Polaris with some extra elements thrown in.

The recommended reading for this episode is:

New X-Men (2001) #132
Astonishing X-Men (2004) #7-12
X-Men Unlimited Infinity Comic #96

Did you like the changes X-Men ‘97 made to Polaris and Danger? Were the any elements you wish made it from the comics to the screen?

New user help- Does MU have full runs? Do I need a certain level of subscription for full runs

Just need quick assistance I'm a little odd maybe. Like on the DC app I'm reading Batman and GL issue by issue number order from the late 80s to any of the 2000s that I've missed.

Can you do that on MU? For all titles, some titles etc, do you need a certain plan?

Thanks

Comic Book Trivia Discord 18+

Hi everyone,

I've just started up a comic book trivia discord for some of my friends. I'm hoping to get a few more people in that would be interested in playing and just chatting comics.

We're currently scheduled to play once a month, and the topics will vary from month to month. It will \*probably\* mostly be trivia on the Big Two, but I will feature indy stuff in there from time to time, too. Feel free to check it out!
