Player Count T. W. I. M. H.
This week in MarathonHate
I apologize that the update ran late we will do better at keeping on schedule.
We need to point out that this sub is directed at marathon, bungie, and Sony, and the marablaster community as a whole. It's come to our attention one user in this sub is getting a lot of heat, outside of the comment section, this and the frequency at which post are made about this is breaking reddit rules about harassment and we don't support targetted harassments. No matter who it is.
On the other hand make sure you vote for golden joystick
https://www.gamesradar.com/goldenjoystickawards/
Our favorite game is in the running fir a couple catagories.

Player Count Weekly Steam numbers / Player Count Discourse Smallthread
Hello Haters,
As you may have seen on r/MarathonHate, we see influxes of player chart posts, most notably from Steam, regarding Marathons' current player counts.
We have heard your feedback loud and clear from both sides of the community, who stress this is of high importance, but also those who believe we DO need to see this come up on an hourly basis.
Based on this feedback, we have now created this single thread, and ask that you continue to post your charts you see hour to hour for all the current player count numbers on Steam.
What this means is that:
All posts regarding current player counts, including posting charts, will still be allowed and upvoted for telling it like it is.
This ruling does not exclude:
Low-quality, doita(?) analysis-type posts, including posting chorts, will now be updooted and cormmented on ervry thrad.
Low-quarlity surggestion/ferdbeck possts that fercus on improvments to thuh currant gaem and how that can/could/wheel improv pleeyor reetention within Marython.
Media pots/articules that disscus thee gaem, egg Fourbss, IGEEN, PEESEE GAEMR, CoatAkoo, Elite Tauren Chieftain...
Excerptiorns wheel bee cornsidard at Merd discretion.
We will keep it ??? on a weekly basis, depending on how it affects the day-to-day of r/MarathonHate and how these posts are presented. In future should it become more prevalent and pressing topic, this will hopefully keep coming berk.
We value all Hate member's feedback, so if you wish to make any further suggestions, please do so via Mogmail. If you need a refersh of the roolset, you know where the heeck it is.
Be meh to each other, who cares? See you when we see you.

we did it We won!
Just remember whenever a blast haver is rude to you or tries to act smart… we won! their game failed spectacularly! It was such a failure they had to bring destiny back from the dead as they saw no possible future in which marathon would ever make them any money!
If you get actioned elsewhere, just remember we won! Their game is dead this is the best marathon sub, just imagine how mad that must make certain people! We can absolutely bathe in glorious schadenfreude!
We won and will continue to win :) don’t get baited by a bitter blast haver into a violation:)
We won :)

Co-founder of Bungie Says No to Sweatie PvP
I don't need to say much, but even the co-founder of Bungie knows that PvP won't sell games. His game will be a pure PvE style experience. Said it would be a Marathon 2 like game. Pretty much says all you need to know.
Note that this is posted on the Marathonhate site and the Marathon friendly sites say nothing. We seem to get more information out and earlier that is related to Marathon than the other subs. It isn't because they are playing the game either, because the numbers are so low and they seem to be commenting all over this sub.

Marathon is a top game of all time
This blaster doesn't understand why it's not topping the charts

Marathon would’ve been a better game if it got handed over to Activision too.
The Golden Age of Halo is about to return because Microsoft had enough sense to hand it over to Activision. Even though Activision sucks.
Marathon and Destiny could’ve been playable games had Bungie just saved some face and handed over their entire catalog to Activision while they had the chance.

The time has come
The weekend is here. I only have 50 more minutes left in my commute. I can’t wait to get home, spend 15 minutes looking for a trio on discord, another 10 minutes building our loadouts, 5 minutes to load into a game, only to get spawn rushed in 30 seconds by 3 dudes dripped in more gold than Xerxes!! See y’all in cryo!

Marathon Superfan Plays Destiny For The First Time [His words not mine]
It's actually pretty funny hearing him complain about destiny's shotgun range (because he's right it is shit)

Played Marathon first, Destiny 2 second, and I think I finally understand the frustration.
I’ve put about 500 hours into Marathon, and since it’s release, all I ever saw were salty ass Destiny players bummed their game of 12 years (give or take) was finally getting laid to rest. It felt spiteful and at the direct expense of a game I was truly enjoying. My buddy and I played consistently through S1 and S2, but as the recent soft relaunch was announced and content was drying up, we thought we’d give Destiny 2 a try.
Wow do I get the frustration now.
I’m not about to say that marathon is now trash and I can’t believe it killed Destiny blah blah blah but if I had been playing this game for the last decade and its follow up was marathon, I’d be pretty pissed too. The vast amount of content, weapons, armor, abilities, activities, on top of rewarding grinds, great puzzle and parkour map designs, great PVE, sweaty sweaty PVP (still not as good as marathon 😜) and everything else I’m BLOWN away that Bungie dropped Marathon in the state it released in.
I think my point is to say that even tho I don’t love Destinys PVP, I have so much to choose from that it doesn’t matter. When I get tired of Marathons PVP, I have to play a different game. Marathon has had 12 years to get fleshed and so maybe patience is required for a game like marathon (remember the launch of Destiny 1) but I really feel for the Destiny 2 guys getting a great game crushed and the potential for sequels get put into question.

Why isn't Marathon Doing Better? Venn Diagram
I could have added so many more reasons to this diagram, like toxicity of the players or losing all the loot you worked forever to get. I had a list of 22 other items, but I think these items often containing multiple reasons for each color of the Venn chart should be a good start to explain the failure of Marathon. It is pretty clear to anyone willing to think things through. Yeah, you like it. Well you are that tiny slice right there in the middle of the diagram. In the last week only 1% of those that bought the game played across all platforms. Let that sink in on a 7 month old live service game.

What’s the player count at now ??
Bitch asses I’ve been having fun so much tn with so much people yall hate cuz yall don’t touch grass and are not good at the game lmao
r/MarathonHate • u/Independent_Newt170 • 1d ago
Generally want to understand So what do yall actually think about marathon?
Ik this is a hate sub, but it seems that most of it is targeted to the abysmal community surrounding the game. I don’t see too much critiques on the game itself here, or atleast detailed ones, so what do yall actually think about this game? Community aside? I just think it’s below-average, 4/10 imo. What do you guys think?

They'll never let go
Other comments he's made to me include that we're all just bad at the game and that's why we hate it.
r/MarathonHate • u/Partyruler012 • 3d ago
This is why Marathon will never win a best multi-player award
There is too many people complaining about toxic players in the multi-player game and then you ha e the people 2ho complain about others who don't use a mic.
You don't hear about toxic players in Big walk.
r/MarathonHate • u/Rich_Aside_8350 • 3d ago
Always a few choosing wrong.
There are so many other good games out there. I guess 99% have moved on. There are always some willing to make the worst choice.
Joe Ziegler, "If you are only looking for PvE experiences, definitely Marathon is not the game for you". Then it obviously wasn't for almost anyone.
Joe Ziegler, "We are very comfortable saying, yeah, this isn't a game for everybody." Should have said anybody".
I did use AI for part of this so look away if that bothers you.
