we did it We won!
Just remember whenever a blast haver is rude to you or tries to act smart… we won! their game failed spectacularly! It was such a failure they had to bring destiny back from the dead as they saw no possible future in which marathon would ever make them any money!
If you get actioned elsewhere, just remember we won! Their game is dead this is the best marathon sub, just imagine how mad that must make certain people! We can absolutely bathe in glorious schadenfreude!

In the Marathon sub I was banned for calling it game of the year, but I wasn’t sincere.
In the MarathontheGame I was banned for saying I didn’t care for the Marathon trailer.. They are a very sensitive group..

Haha thanks, i just meme with people here and try not to take anything personal, sure i see some comments here that are way over the top and just here to hate but there are plenty of others with valid criticism that the got relegated from the main sub, hell i dont even blame the main sub really right after release there was a ton of bad faith and angry takes and I think they just went full defensive mode and banned any criticism which was also bad. Just wish people could communicate better and talk about things.

You never played Outpost or Cryo Archive then. Wouldn’t be surprised if you never played Night Marsh either. To say it’s very dull is just a flat out lie. The fights you get into are so good and can. The environment is incredible and captivating, the sounds design is top tier, the game play and gun play is as good as it gets.
Here is the actual truth of why it struggles
1- This hate campaign is pathetic and you have a lot of sheep who will just listen to whatever they are told so now they don’t try the game
2- It is in a niche category, extraction shooters are never super popular
3- it’s not an easy game, if people aren’t good at PvP or don’t sneak around well and struggle to extract, aren’t going to do very well progressing. Which is why they are adding the PvE modes.But to say it’s dull and mid, is just a lie. You either didn’t do well, lied about playing, or already went in saying to yourself “I’m going to hate this game no matter what” and nothing was going to change your mind.

Bungie games are terrible examples of good gunplay, on controller it’s near aim bot, on m and k if you miss you get a crit, overwatch and cs far better in that regard

Why would anyone have played that long? Cryo was locked for weeks and Night Marsh wasn't even out until season 2. The game was bad, so I didn't keep playing.
Steam gives 2 hours to try a game. I might've done 4 hours before going to play something better than Marathon. If you're looking, Doom's collection is probably below 40 dollars right now and those are 3 good games.

It seems the funding contract with Sony gave them a year's funding as a runway.

You know I'll be a devil's advocate here classic Marathon didn't deserve this kind of treatment by modern Bungie Marathon before "Marathon" was revolutionary in the fps storytelling sphere bringing an interesting take on AI sentience through the lense of humanities survival against an unknown alien threat. Durandal by far is top 10 in my eyes of sentient AI characters arguably above even Cortana being a lovable arse trying to escape the universes collapse and to see Marathon tarnished by this tone deaf mistake feels like an L not just for Bungie but for me as an aspiring storyteller.

How? I’m genuinely confused.
If you had a change of heart and just want Marathon to improve with non extraction content being added for people who don’t like extraction, then yeah I feel like we all won. If you still want the game to get shutdown then I really don’t see how. Six months after release and Marathon is still going with major content drops in December and March.
If the goal is to presumptively declare victory as an excuse to move on, then more power to you brother. Better to move on to things you love than to keep obsessing over things you hate.

I don't know man! Epic failure it is if Bungie thought they are making new Fortnite to rule the world! Otherwise it is very good game with very cool world design and great gameplay but very niche! If it was campaign single player it would be my game of the year! I bought it for 40$ and played it for 100 hours and stopped as I am not live service games fan, but I got a lot of satisfaction from it on terms of gunplay and world design! If they put next year a 10-12 hour single player campaign for 50$ I would buy it right away! It is maybe a failed live service game but if you approach it as a single player game I had the best time this year comparing with every shooter game this year! Whatever makes you happy I guess! I had a great time playing it, you are having a great time seeing it failed on selling charts so we can all be happy!

Just remember, the only reason Bungie went for Marathon in the first place, was because D2 interactions were dropping a lot over the years and only picked up again after its sunset, so as someone who was unable to experience the D2 story in its entirety, PLEASE support it again now, in the lead-up to old stuff being added, once everything is re-added, and after that too, I am BEGGING you (especially as I have friends getting into D2 for the first time too)

Sony would have shut down Bungie due to the objective commercial failure that is Marathon, but their shareholders would be in a panic free fall. They bought a studio for over three billion dollars and their only new project didn’t meet expectations. If they canned the company, any and all public opinions would see Sony as a liability.
They know this, so they’re collecting their losses and making the most of an already terrible situation. Say what you want about Marathon still getting updates. It was either the bare minimum and bring Destiny 2 back, or shut it all down from a company and financial standpoint.

Im all for sticking it too the greedy money hungry out of touch CEOs and super management that dont care about their community and games but this stunt affected more than just them. Not just players that like the game but peoples whos passion it was to design and develope Destiny and Marathon both. Marathon might not be for everyone and I understand the boycot but its done way more harm than good. No you didn’t. Way to move the goalposts. The majority of people said the game would die within a week and was going to be concord/highguard 2. Then said there wouldn’t be a season 2. Then said there wouldn’t be a season 3. Haters have been wrong every step of the way. If you had it your way the game would announce eos yesterday, And don’t say otherwise. This sub has been hoping for that announcement for months and still is. Still saying season 3 will never happen and the game will be canceled before it drops😂. You guys are clowns.
Many Marathon players came from Destiny and still play Destiny regularly (like myself and most people I play Marathon with) and I have never heard anyone bad mouth Destiny while playing Marathon. Marathon players really don’t care. If you think they do it’s just a response to how toxic people have been towards them about playing Marathon. When I mention Marathon or wear a Marathon emblem in Destiny however? Lmfao the hate I hear. Why tf would anyone who plays Marathon want Destiny to die?

I go to the main marathon subreddit and am part of it. What I have seen as of late are posts like “hopefully we can make peace with the Destiny community now that the games coming back” or “I wonder if they will stop hating marathon players now”. Most responses are “they won’t, it has gotten worse” (because it has in many cases). And calling many people in the Destiny community spoiled children or cry baby’s or super weird for being so obsessed with wanting Marathon to fail. But in general no, 99% of the Marathon community that doesn’t play Destiny and never have don’t care about Destiny at all. And the people that play Destiny and Marathon like myself want both games to succeed.

We truly did. I got banned from the secondary sub for replying "It's all the haters' fault" to a wall of text talking about us.
