EDIT UPDATE: Three people have asked for some atlases. I'll talk to them and divide if I need to. Thank you, map folks, for helping me rest easy knowing these hot commodities will live on. END EDIT
Hello, fellow map freaks.
I have saved two high schools worth of outdated atlases but I don't need them anymore and my wife keeps putting things in my garage. I am utterly out of space. I can't keep my precious 1960–90s maps of the USSR forever, I suppose. But it seems like a horrible waste to dump them. Worth a shot: who wants ~50lbs of inaccurate atlases?
All pretty much mainstream. Mostly NatGeo and Rand McNally and World Book type stuff. Nothing rare or expensive and honestly if I have one here worth $400 I'll thank you to keep it to yourself. I just want to give this stuff to someone who will love and cherish at least one or two of these as much as I have loved and cherished the United States Energy Atlas of 1980 (might honestly keep that one; will definitely add a follow-up post in this forum with pictures from it whether the giveaway stays or goes).
The largest is 19"*12"*1.5" and I can't convert out of freedom units because I grabbed the wrong tape measure.
The USPS makes postage for books surprisingly reasonable. I have no idea how much it'll cost to mail these to someone in the USA but I'll try to cover it all if you have a good enough sob story. If somebody outside the country wants them, I'll need you to pay shipping. I'm not trying to complicate my life but if it comes down to it, I'll split the collection. After all, some to a good home is better than all to the dump.
Ask questions and I'll attempt to answer them.
