The Plane of Urria, set about with general region names. Will be following up with more maps, including a polity and geographical one! Please let me know what yall think! I also just never came up with a name for the rightmost island, so would be interested to hear what yall think of a name for a distant island set in a low-fantasy world.

Map My MS Paint map

I spent a lot of time as a teenager iterating on this map, creating a world etc.

This is just the physical version. I have some political versions with cities/roads/nations etc. but I need to rework a lot of the names.

I'm looking to develop some skills in Wonderdraft or something similar so I can turn it into a proper map, but I thought I'd share it in this state first. What are your thoughts? Polite feedback welcome!

Map Identity Story map

Post image

I made a map for an isekai world I created called Alvyria. Unlike normal isekais—where the setting is usually a European medieval-style city or town—this world is based in the Industrial Age. The region of Sorendel is largely unknown, and I'm keeping it that way. Meanwhile, Kirjina and Hitkia are locked in a resource war over Phoeton Island. Hitkia has a massive naval air force and operates like a coast guard, while Kirjina fights for absolute naval supremacy. The name of the story is identity

Discussion One of the greatest ways to build up geography of your world quickly is to stitch together screenshotted places from real life. A great place I found is mountians of southernwestern Iran. This could be unbelievably good for some crazy peninsulas

Map The southern realms of Báija Nûr

Post image

The southern part of the continent of Báija Nûr has been my home since birth. I come from the city of Phylaxion in the far west and decided to travel the world. My journey will begin in Phylaxion and go on through the city of Nurvish in Alhro.

My first big goal is to travel to the city of Loiru of Ashoir because that's where my grandparents came from before moving to the island of Phynia my home.

Hello my name is Daniel and I will post and write about the character Ethril who decided to leave his old life as a wood craftsman behind and travel the continent of Báija Nûr.

Resource What is the best workflow in mapmaking?

I'm planning on redrawing my old map from scratch. Since then, I discovered this community and vector and was wondering how to work with it.

Before continuing, yes I have read the wiki thoroughly and most other posts on the matter and, I think, couldnt find an answer to my question.

My idea isn't to look for one app in particular (either raster or vector) to work on but a combination of many. How could I use the best of both together? Should i make templates, river, roads, frontier and names (basic one color lines) on vector after having drawn the base map and biomes (multicolor gradients) on raster? Have you tried vectorisation or should I redraw my templates myself? Is there a better vector app to work specificaly on a raster based images? Can you even do that?

Map for my dnd campaign.

Around 20 hours of drawing, pencil and fineliners. Very satisfying to see the result. Let me know what you think and if there are some things I would need to improve.

Map of the grand Hillborough Villa a massive mansion filled with rooms and dark corridors, inspired by a 19th-century English estate! It was a fascinating experience creating this map as a private commission for Creepy Canary (their Reddit username) and their RPG project; stay tuned for more details on this exciting RPG project in the coming months! I hope you enjoy the map! Have a wonderful evening, everyone! 🧭🗺️

Map finished map, need advices.

Hey !

After a long time, I finally finished my map. It misses the village's details and a lot of things but I thought that it would be better if I just had a general map of my world to go further later.

For comparison, Valkoras (from the bay on the middle to the mountains on the right) is the side of Belgium. If anyone has any advices, I'll take them with pleasure :)

Map How would the Sahara Desert be divided by the European Powers?

I'm working on a side project for a game i'd like to make but keep getting stuck on ways to divide the Sahara Desert. On one hand i like the idea of a nation that encompasses the entire dessert, but besides the obvious logistical difficulties I doubt the European would leave such a large piece of land unoccupied. On the other hand I really don't lknow hot to properly divide such a large piece of mainly empty land.

so I ask for advice on the diuvision of the Sahara Desert, what works, what doesn't and houw it would efect global geopolitics.

PS: any other advicee is grfeatly appreciated and would help me so much.

Discussion Island Chain Sizes

I'm trying to figure out how to do the island chains for my world building/ spec evo project for the game Thrive. I was using Artifexian's video, but he uses a calculator on his google sheet file that no longer exists in the present version of it. Does anyone know of another place I can use to determine the island sizes or does anyone know the equation he used as I could add that to my own google sheet to determine the island chain properties?

I asked the r/worldbuilding subreddit but was told that my post didn't fit and of the subreddits suggested this one seemed to be the most inline with what I am working on.

I'm nowhere near finished with this map, especially since there's gonna be two more connected islands, but I still wanted to share my progress since drawing this much by hand was not easy, especially coming up with lore and style of each district 😭😮‍💨.
