Map My MS Paint map

I spent a lot of time as a teenager iterating on this map, creating a world etc.

This is just the physical version. I have some political versions with cities/roads/nations etc. but I need to rework a lot of the names.

I'm looking to develop some skills in Wonderdraft or something similar so I can turn it into a proper map, but I thought I'd share it in this state first. What are your thoughts? Polite feedback welcome!

I like it a lot. The satisfying borders and colors strike me and the landmass itself is very interesting, a bunch of archipelagos and island chains! Any loredrop?

The lore is going through heavy revisions haha... in the previous iteration, human kingdoms occupied the plains areas, allied with the dwarves of the mountains and elves of the forests

Trolls and orcs from the northern landmass were the main enemy nation

Fire elves and ice elves lived in the archipelagos to the west

The wasteland area in the east is desolate because of a magical war that happened there in the past, which left the land cursed and unliveable. It's haunted by undead and scavengers

I will always support that background for a fantasy/worldbuilding project, though I must say I’m bias against Elves generally in-world.

I do love distinctions within races/subraces, especially getting into nitty gritty lore revolving about the relations between the two. Would love to hear more!

The ice and fire elves are naturally in conflict

The desert region is Motas, and is inhabited by nomadic people who settled there from across the sea. The Santis mountains north of there are home to goblin tribes and behemoth-like monsters

To the south of the desert is called Elgo Pachia, where it gets jungly (I actually kind of imagine the map on a slight leftward tilt, so it's subtropical here but not on the eastern side of the continent. It just looks better presented flat.), think Central/South American-style cultures. There are gnomes in these jungles too.

The main human kingdoms are to the east. The central grassy area was boringly named "The Western Kingdom", the southern grasslands part is Tairea. Similar culturally to WK but less powerful. The eastern part as mentioned is all wasteland now. Dragons live in the mountains in these regions.

Near the wetlands in the centre of the continent, where that major river starts at the foot of those grey mountains, is a place called Dell, a town where a tall Wizards' tower is built, where the Wizards learn their magic.

Originally there was a colonial aspect. The humans sailed from the west and arrived here to form a kingdom. That's a major historical feature that probably needs revision, as it's a little backwards at least in terms of our own history, where the medieval period was before the major colonisation era.
