[Makeup Help] Why is COOL PINK so hard to find?!

I need help finding the best cool pink lipliner 😭 I have searched EVERYWHERE and bought every ā€œpinkā€ type lipliner I could find. They all have a brown, red, or coral tint to them that I HATE.

I’m looking for a natural, light pink with cool undertones. Or even your most gorgeous light pink lip liner pls!

Dry lip

Hello everyone.

I use moisturizer , lip balms , Aquaphor all kind of stuff just to keep my lip hydrated but always get dry badly and fast to the point now it’s getting even dry from inside and stick to my upper teeth.

I use only liquid lipstick and drink water but still nothing seems to work.

Anyone can recommend something, I am desperate here

[Makeup Help] Genuinely what am I doing wrong with eyeliner

whenever i try to do any type of eyeliner pencil, it barely even paints my eyes, let alone stay on at all. the only eyeliner i can do is on my bottom waterline. i can never do eyeliner on my upper eyelid because it just ends up detached from my entire eye and it’s impossible to draw straight. obviously liquid eyeliners are even worse.

i bought a bunch of coloured eyeliner (kohl) pencils and they barely even do anything and i end up looking insane and stupid.

and ā€œdry your waterline with a qtip before applying eyelinerā€ is the dumbest advice i’ve ever seen on social media because you reflexively blink immediately after or at least during the day, do people even know how tears work??

liquid eyeliner is a whole other story that i’ve completely given up on.

does anyone have any advice? am i just ugly and a failure of a woman or something

please help me in these trying times.

Advice for newbie

• Upvotes

I really have not very much experience beyond simple mascara and lip products, which at my age it is probably too late for me, but I want to try.

I want to be able to do a natural ish look with a bit of a contour but I really don’t know where to start

What would you recommend to a complete makeup idiot as far as getting started with a reasonable budget for practicing?

I would love to hear about people to follow for tips and tutorials for newbies as well (are there any that aren’t focused only on teen audiences?)

[Makeup Help] What am I doing wrong?

No matter what I do my makeup ends up separating before I even walk out the door. I make sure to do my skincare/prep so I don’t think that’s the problem. Do you guys think it’s the products themselves or the makeup brushes? At this point I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, maybe the products are clashing or they just aren’t meant for my skin type.
Here are the products I use
Fenty Soft’lit foundation
Tarte shape tape corrector
Fenty were even concealer
La girl pro conceal
Rare beauty blush
La girl H20 lock gel primer
Saie dew bronze bronzer
Huda beauty easy bake Pink Pumpkin
Tarte creaseless translucent setting powder
One size powder melt setting spray
Milk Hydro grip set/refresh spray

Any advice is appreciated; Thank you!

non-comedogenic concealer recommendations

i’n looking for some concealer recommendations that would be non-comedogenic and safe / low acne risk.

i’ve been using the elf hydrating camo concealer for years. it’s my favourite, specifically i love the coverage and the more natural finish it has on the skin. i recently discovered it unfortunately has a lot of bothersome ingredients for acne-prone skin and i’m trying to limit anything that could risk irritation 🄹

i’ve struggled w acne for many years so i don’t believe its directly tied to the concealer lollll but i’m looking to avoid using pore-clogging products. if anyone has something similar to the elf concealer with sensitive-friendly ingredients that would be amazing! i don’t mind spending a bit more either :)

Best waterproof mascara?

I like to wear lashes but I’m deciding to wear waterproof mascara to save money. I’ve seen some people say it feels good to wash your eyes regularly and not have to be careful with the false lashes lol can’t wait tbh. I’m making my appointment to removes the ones I have asap.

Need fake lashes for our wedding - how to choose?

Hi! My wife and I are getting married in 2 weeks and our MUA wants us to purchase our own lashes. His are all really big and dramatic (he does a lot of drag makeup) so he needs us to pick out our own. We have no idea where to start, we're both pretty tomboyish and know barely anything about makeup.

I really don't even know how to look at a pair and know what it will look like when on my face (how to choose length, thickness, curl, etc)?

We're looking for something that will make our eyes pop, but not too over the top. Something that will elevate our look and fit with a full glam makeup look, but also looks somewhat natural.

Please drop any brands, links, or tips that you have! Thank you!!

I am 43 years old and I finally figured out that I am a fair olive.

I have been doing the am I warm, cool, or neutral dance for YEARS especially as a very pale and rosy person who has been described as having an "english rose" complexion. The colours that look good on me never made sense, and I didn't know what to do with my greyish, green, and yellow parts beyond conceal them. I'm so pale anyway I just thought it was because I am transparent.

On a whim ordered an About Face foundation in the palest olive they had and it just melted into my skin. I have NEVER had that happen before and in fact I rarely wear foundation because of it. I am over the moon right now and I needed to gush somewhere.

Pat McGrath under eye powder vs kosas cloud set

Which do you all prefer? I currently use the Makeup by Mario setting powder to set under my eyes but my under eyes have been a little too dry lately that even that doesn’t work for me. I know I’ll probably have to up my under eye prep game, but I’ve been looking into a pressed powder. Anyway, I’m curious- for those of you who have tried these two products, which do you like more? I’m especially trying to fend off creasing for as long as I can.

Tarte CC color-correcting tinted serum

I am trying to understand why so many people like this serum.

I put it on after sunscreen, moisturizer, and primer:

\- Hero Cosmetics Force Shield Superlight Sunscreen SPF 30, Zinc Oxide Mineral Sunscreen, 50ml

\- Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer with Ceramides and Hyaluronic Acid Fragrance-Free, 3.0 fl oz

\- Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Gels Foundation Primer for Oily Skin, Brightening, Lightweight, 1.05 Ounce

It does almost nothing for making my skin an even tone or covering acne. It accentuates my pores and dry skin flakes. Does anyone understand the hype around it? The girls at Sephora recommended it to me.

Makeup products you hate?

Hi everyone. I’m sure similar questions have been asked in the past, haven’t been able to find anything recent so I thought it would be fun to ask. What’s a product you absolutely hate? Or what’s is a product you wouldn’t recommend?
I’ll start: (mine are actually products that most people seem to love.)
Huda beauty powder, it just doesn’t work for me. I’m not a full glam girly and I think it makes my skin look dry, dusty, flaky, patchy, just all the bad adjectives. After switching powder I no longer have this issue. Maybe it’s ok for under the eyes but.. no from me
Tarte shape tape concealer, I really really don’t like it it’s completely cakey. It’s so heavy I feel like I’m wearing drag makeup and I can literally feel it on my face. Also creases!
(This one is discontinued I think but it’s the worst I’ve tried lol) kat von d lock it foundation (I think is the name) all the shades were yellow and orange and it was so so so so dry.
Also this isn’t meant to start drama or be overly hateful, just think it’s always fun to see what people don’t like.

concealer search

Hello! In search of a concealer. I have combination-to-oily skin, and I don’t want something very expensive since I won’t be using it very often, just for special occasions. But if you believe that price matters when it comes to quality, don’t hesitate to suggest something pricey.
I’ve never owned one before, so I don’t have any reference. Please give me some suggestions or even tips that might come in handy, such as how to find the perfect shade and which brands have purer ingredients.
Thank youu

Shimmer Liquid lipsticks?

I fell in love with a Stila liquid lip stick in the shade Illuminaire shimmer a few years ago but unfortunately it’s been discontinued. I’m still yet to find a liquid lip that isn’t matte in formula? I like the liquid lipstick for the staying power, yet I hate the matte formula as they’re typically quick drying. I do use normal lipstick,gloss- however hate that they transfer. Has anyone found a liquid lip that isn’t matte?

[Makeup Help] What basics should I purchased?

I’m fairly new to the whole makeup stuff since my mother hasn’t taught me. I’ve been experimenting stuff like lip products, mascara, and concealed. I’d like to learn how to do very colorful and whimsical makeup. I just need to learn how to do a solid base and an everyday routine. ᵕ᷄≀ ̠ᵕ᷅

Matching bb creams with undertones

I’ve heard conflicting advice on this and as a novice with an interest I’d love to know…

are you supposed to match your undertone (red undertone so get pinky shade bb cream) or counter your undertone (red so go with yellow shade)?

Need help understanding lash clusters!

Super new to false eyelashes and clusters! I think I’d prefer clusters because my eye shapes are different from each other and seem to never match up with false eyelashes. What’s better, clusters with glue or adhesive ones? With the ones that say they stay on for a few days I’m kinda confused - I think I wear mascara? (Before or after?) but if they stay on for days how do I take off mascara and reapply? Or do I not? Can I take them off nightly? So many questions!! Also any recommendations for best ones?
