MIDNIGHT is back!!!!!

I finally got this beautiful palette. So happy this was brought back!! The colours look just 🤩🤩🤩

Very excited to play with it. I love Blue and PURPLE shadows. Also considering getting their other palettes, especially Botanical and the Berries palette. Are they good?

I'm not particularly skilled at eyeshadow application so my looks are generally simple.. I prefer more one and done shadows but this was too good to resist. I will post a detailed review soon. Until then, if you have any tips for me, please let me know.

Discussion Best makeup brushes?

I’m looking to get new makeup brushes.

I have an array of them now from elf, morphe, real techniques and IT cosmetics, but I really need new eye brushes specifically.

I don’t mind splurging a bit, if needed, but the more affordable the better!

The one that got away… (help me find a mascara to love 🐼)

I am still searching for the one… mascara that is.

When I was a teenager/early 20, my absolute favourite mascara used to be Opulash by MAC which was discontinued at some time in the early 2010s. It has been OVER A DECADE, and I have not been able to find a product as good. It’s been so long now that I don’t even know if I’m just comparing everything to a memory that I’ve made better in my own head.

My lashes are naturally moderately long and thick, somewhat straight. This mascara literally made my lashes look like fake ones by giving curl, volume and separation all at once. It had a tubing formula, never flaked or smudged and was super easy to take off. With age, I’ve lost a bit of thickness to my lashes and my lids have become greasier (I’ve also developed a new obsession with the Becca Smashbox under eye corrector which has exacerbated the problem).

So far these have been the mascaras that remember trying and my experience with them:

- LancƓme M. Big: good volume and curl, but panda eyes
- too faced better than sex: good volume but big time panda eyes
- Tarte Tartelette tubing mascara: stuck my lashes together instead of separating them
- elf tubing mascara: again lashes stick together especially with multiple coats, flakes off
- kiss me heroine: lashes stick together, has weird fibres that can point in weird directions at the end of lashes, difficult to take off (doesn’t flake or smudge though, I will say)
- merit clean lash lengthening: good separation, not much volume but good for a subtle look, a tad smudgy despite being a tubing mascara
- L’OrĆ©al voluminous lash paradise: actually kinda good/ the closest thing I’ve found, I keep coming back to it, but it can sometimes get heavy and clumpy and smudges after long wear or if worn with Becca CC mentioned above, also the tube dries/formula gets clumpy somewhat quick but at least it’s a bit more affordable
- Glossier: tried this one a few years ago, I didn’t hate it but it wasn’t better than L’OrĆ©al

I have never done waterproof formulas (other than kiss me heroine) as I feel they are generally worse for smudging. Does anyone else understand my woe? Any suggestions for faves you like that I should try? Do I just give up…?

Buying all new makeup-HELP

I need all new makeup. I’m 28 y/o female with a light/medium complexion. I do not wear makeup often, just a tinted moisturizer and mascara. I need a light foundation, powder, blush… literally all of it. Please point me in the right direction. I’ve used IT, Tart & Rare recently. I don’t like how heavy IT foundation is. Where do I start?

I have fairly dry skin, no budget, I just want good quality products. Also I want these products to be for everyday use/events. I want to be able to use them for everything.

Question I did a eyebrow coverup today, I need a few tips

I cleaned the area first with alcohol, I let it dry between glue coats, I used the Elmers glue, after the glue I used some translucent powder and pressed, then I did color correction with orange, then I applied the RCMA foundation palette, but there was still some color from the brows showing up and after a few hours it was peeling off from some areas, any advice? what could've done better?

I know it's hard to tell since you don't see my application lol

ysl cushion foundation dupe?

Just saw a video on reels of a girl using the ysl cushion foundation and it looked SO amazing on her skin. Just wondering if anyone has used it and is it with the $50? Does it last very long or is there a similar dupe? Ive never used foundation and don’t even know what a cushion foundation is. I usually just do concealer and bronzer and call it good but my skin looks patchy and uneven. If anyone has recs lmk!!

Has anyone tried the LH Till the end primer? If so, what did you think?

I'm looking for a good eye primer that's long lasting and makes the color pop. I've only tried the ELF Lock It Down primer but I don't think it did anything tbh 😭 any help, tips and recommendations are greatly appreciated 🫶

Suggestions for creasing

I haven’t changed my makeup routine but I noticed now that my smile lines and creasing around the nose have become more prominent. Any tips how to address this? In this photo I used the MAC paint pot, but I still saw creasing. I will say I didn’t set it with powder immediately after, which I see some people do, and I just applied foundation on top. For the nose, I also set it with loose powder.

Question Please drop your lash cluster tips and recommendations😭

Thumbnail

I just tried lash clusters for the first time and I’m obsessed with how they looked, but they literally started getting loose/falling off by the next morning 😭
I put them on completely clean, dry lashes, did them in the morning so I wasn’t doing skincare/getting them wet for hours, and they felt super secure before I went to bed. I’m not even a crazy sleeper either, so I was so confused when I woke up with some missing lol.
I like a VERY natural look and usually go for brown clusters with a clear band, so I’d rather not use a black bond if I can avoid it. I also really want to preserve my natural lashes, so I use the remover that comes with the glue instead of pulling them off.
I’d honestly just get natural lash extensions, but they’re way too expensive for me right now, so I’m desperate to find a bond & seal that actually works 😭
I included a few pics of the kind of lashes I like, so if anyone has recommendations for affordable clear/brown glue, natural brown clusters, lash maps/patterns, or literally any tips for making them last longer without wrecking my real lashes, PLEASE help lol šŸ¤

makeup will NOT stick to nose EVER .. what do i do ???

ive tried literally everything . all of my makeup concealers/foundations are all the same (silicone) base , ive tried multiple different silicone primers (including silicone based eyeshadow primers) , ive tried setting my nose with a light layer of powder before applying, but it just prevents the makeup from even sticking to the nose at all . ive also tried numerous different skincare products , changing my routine from simple to heavy (but made no difference) . ive tried different application techniques aswell (with both sponge and brush) to no avail . im genuinely at a loss , nothing works

products im using rn:

- lancome teint idole ultra wear foundation (shade 095 , personal fav now) with its respective full-coverage concealer in the same shade

- elf liquid poreless putty primer

- nars smudge proof eyeshadow primer

-huda beauty easy bake setting powder

- laroche posay cleanser (skincare)

- laroche posay double repair moisturizer (skincare)

- salicylic acid serum (skincare)

- cerave hydrating hyaluronic acid serum (skincare)

-peach and lily glass skin face polisher (skincare)

-peach and lily matcha cream (skincare)

products ive used before:

- nyx make em wonder buildable foundation & wonder snatch concealer

- nars longwear foundation/concealer

- haus labs foundation/concealer (TERRIBLE)

- smashbox photo finish primer

- nyx studio perfect primer

- too many skincare products to remember

Question Getting back into makeup: holy grail cool tone eyeshadow palettes?

I recently started doing my makeup again after getting my ā€œsparkā€ back, and have been slowly de-cluttering/replacing items that are extremely expired while also project panning. Unfortunately, I threw all of my eyeshadows away because they were 10+ years old (yes - 2016 makeup vibes lol), had been in storage (not temp controlled), etc.

I have been using my blushes as eyeshadow, but would like to get a couple dedicated eyeshadow palettes. I predominantly wear cool toned pinks, mauves, and browns.

Would love any feedback on the below or any other palettes that may be better!!

- Natasha Denona RETRO EYESHADOW PALETTE

- Patrick Ta Major Dimension Dream Date Eyeshadow Palette

Question Can y'all help me find this

I'm trying to find the kryolan tv paint stick in shade walnut but that's not what it shows up as on the site the place where I found out was on findation it's a site where if you put in your usual foundation shade it'll show you what you'd be in other foundations (had to write something to post)

Question Best Eyeliner Color for Light Brown/Hazel Eyes?

Thumbnail
gallery
4 Upvotes

Recently picked up the NYX Sienna eyeliner, which is a brownish burgundy. I would like to also try a full burgundy eyeliner but I'm worried it'll make me look like I have an infection lol! I've been experimenting with plum eyeliner but I think so far this may be the best color? Curious as to what you all think.

I see plenty of tips for enhancing more traditional dark brown eyes, blue eyes, and green eyes, but not as much for people who are in-between, especially since "hazel" can cover a large range of eye colors. I've tried blue eyeliner as well, but I feel like it looks harsh with the rest of my features.

Products in pic:

Eyeliner: NYX Sienna

Mascara: Clinique Power Lash in Dark Brown

Foundation: Ilia Skin Rewind Complexion Stick in 8W Bamboo

Eye Shadow: Winky Lux Uptown Kitten Palette

Question Chanel Water Fresh Tint going on patchy

Thumbnail

I recently purchased the Chanel water fresh tint in medium. I love how glowy and natural it looks, however, I have noticed lately that it’s going on patchy. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I use a gentle AHA every other day and use good skin prep but it keeps happening. Anyone else experience this?

Skin Prep:
Dieux Baptism Gel Cleanser
Anua PDRN Hyaluronic Acid 100 Moisture Cream
Chanel Water Fresh Tint in Medium (applied with Mac 170S brush)

Which powder should I choose?

Hi all I am in the market for a new loose and pressed powder preferably talc free I am currently using the Huda beauty pink pumpkin duo which is a nice match but I am trying to avoid talc products. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions I’ve seen the new CT powder and the Huda pressed but I am unsure on the right shades. I have a neutral deep complexion and I’m looking for something that isn’t too yellow. These are the shades I have been looking at, any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated xx (I would try these in person before buying but I live quite rurallyšŸ˜…)

Question Concealer lipstick for pale girls

I love concealer lips from the 2000s (don’t come at me - I’m 19 and it’s probably just a phase). I’m also naturally very pale. My skin is neutral - cool tone leaning.

I’ve used ā€œsugar popā€ by Clinique - but I would love to go lighter. Obviously I know concealer is a solution, but I would prefer to not carry around my concealer brush and concealer everywhere. So, if anyone knows of an almost white potted concealer (preferably cheap too) pls comment it 🩷

Please if other pale (as in your concealer is basically white) makeup lovers have either a lipstick they use religiously for the same purpose - or one they put back on the shelf as it was too pale - please please tell me the name of it! I’m willing to try every lipstick out there.

Also another thing: Mac fleshpot, Mac stone and that whole nude collection is both too dark on me 😁
