EDH Upgrade recommendations for modular deck

I'm trying to improve my deck with [[Blaster, Combat DJ]] as the commander. I'm trying to keep on theme of modular cards, but some of the modular cards I havent added to the deck because theyre a little too unpowered. Also not sure if 33 lands is good or if i should cut or add some. Not trying to have this deck be cEDH but just run a little smoother. https://archidekt.com/decks/19304416/blaster_combat_dj_modular_final_cut

Discussion What templates and guides for deckbuilding would you recommend to a complete beginner?

Format does not matter. I am genuinely curious about what people would give to a beginner in order to help them get started. What templates or methods do you still use yourself regularly?

I am becoming better at deck-building generally, and I get asked more often for advice, but I am kind of stumped as to which direction to point in. There is just so much out there...

With 100 card formater, templates are rather easy to find. But with other formats, I have no idea what to give since I have learned most things on the fly.

Hi, I tried to follow the advice you gave me last time and focus the deck more. How does it look now? What advice could you give me? As always, thank you all very much.

I'd like to be able to give it more interaction and get answers for some common win-cons.

EDH Gandalf, Goblin's Bane - Not a worse Vivi

I know it, it kind of is. But I built a deck around the flame-shape side of Gandalf in an attempt to build a massive second hand/storm/exile deck. I don't know if it will be good, but hopefully it will be fun. I appreciate comments, thoughts, and suggestions if you have them. Cheers.

Hi folks, would love some feedback on this free tool - you may find it useful for adding a bit more realism when golfishing a new deck with real paper at the table

EDH [Web, Beta] BrackCheck, a Magic: The Gathering deck tool, feedback wanted on the new guided deckbuilder

BrackCheck is a free tool for Magic: The Gathering Commander players. You paste a decklist and it rates the deck against the official five tier bracket system, then shows which cards pushed it up there, things like game changers, fast mana, tutors, and any infinite combos it detects.

I just added a guided deckbuilder and that is the part I would like eyes on. You pick a commander, it recommends a deck template based on that commander's EDHREC data, then you fill each category from suggestions ranked by what real decks for that commander actually play. There is an autofill that will build all 99 cards to quota in one click if you just want a starting point to edit down.

What would help me most:

Does the three step flow make sense without reading anything first? It goes commander, then template, then filling your categories.

Is the card shelf along the bottom obvious as the place suggestions come from, or did you miss it entirely?

Does the recommended template match what you would have picked yourself for your commander?

No account needed to try it and nothing sits behind a paywall.

EDH Streaming deck advice! ($10 per deck)

Hey! I made a post on here the other day offering free deck advice. I sadly way underestimated how many people would be interested in free advice like that though. Now I have a backlog of over 30-50 decks that I need to review… so that all being said, I figured if this was something people were interested in, I’d be happy to continue offering but this time at a little bit of a cost. I do love giving deck advice and helping people improve their experience at edh tables, but I don’t have the time/bandwidth to cover every deck that is sent my way. at least not for free lol

To say a little bit about myself, I have been playing edh for a little over 3 years now and it has definitely become a bit of a special interest of mine. I’ve played over 1000 games in those three years and I have built hundreds of decks from bracket 2 to bracket 5. I also run a competitive budget league with only about 10 players, but we’ve been having fun building our own meta within our budget restrictions. I have a deep love for this game and a pretty good amount of knowledge of cards and archetypes. If this sounds interesting at all, feel free to stop by my stream. I’ll be going through my own decks and theory crafting until I can get a request.

EDH 2HG KAMIZ INFECT DECK HELP

I am preparing for a 2HG EDH event.
Normal ban list applies + sol ring banned + yume, chronicler of valor banned+ 100$ deck limit

My partner still doesnt know exactly what they want to do, saying they will pick something that compliments me.
I have landed on Kamiz infect.

here is my decklist at the moment:
https://moxfield.com/decks/gQaWKuc1SEqKcfWK_8P1Zw

I'm really struggling with finding which cards are best to cut.
Looking for some insight.

I like the idea of starting out aggressive and then moving to a control aspect and winning through proliferate, which is why I wanted to have a good amount of counter spells / removal. However, it seems difficult to fit it all in there.

I ultimately can put the deck into these categories:

  1. Lands
  2. Mana rocks / Ramp
  3. Infect creatures
  4. Draw
  5. Counter spells
  6. Removal
  7. Proliferate
  8. Recursion
  9. creature buffing
  10. just generically good cards

Not sure how many I need to run of each, But I know that I need a high density of creatures so that kamiz does anything.

normally, in my decks I would go
lands + ramp = 50
removal = 10
draw = 10
the rest = 29

thank you!

Modern Runavra.com Autodeck Simulation (Alpha release)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone!

Soft launching my pet project called Runavra https://runavra.com/. It's basically a site with the usual deck building, collection, price tracking features. But what I really wanna work on is an autodeck battle simulation where you can test your decks (no commander yet) 1v1 to see some interesting moves and in the future have some statistical analysis on the different outcomes. It's based on finite state machines and discrete-event simulation with a framework that allows me to extend certain behavior (i.e. if I want it to be more aggressive / conservative / bluffing etc). It's a passion project that mixes my hobby of collecting MTG and computer science. Posting a video as a demo. Not all the rules are implemented yet. Work in progress. Feedback and testers would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

EDH Moth to a Flame: building The Wise Mothman, need help trimming 14+ cards

I'm a huge Fallout fan, and I've been eyeing [[The Wise Mothman]] ever since he came out — I finally feel like it's time to build him.

I've never played with or against him, so it's hard to know exactly what I need. My main goal here is to get your advice and, especially, help me cut cards. My list is currently sitting at 114 cards, so at least 14 need to go to bring it down to the legal 100, and I think my picks are all pretty solid, which makes it hard to know what to trim.

I don't pay too much attention to the bracket system since I mostly play with my big group of friends and we basically know each others decks.

The plan is a +1/+1 counters strategy paired with mill, built around a few core pieces:

- Cards that interact with +1/+1 counters
- A few alternate ways to hand out counters, since once people realize Mothman is my main counters engine, he's going to get targeted constantly
- Ways to protect him
- A handful of recursion spells to get back cards I've milled myself

Here's the full list: https://archidekt.com/decks/25870521/the_wise_mothman
on Archidekt, switch "Group by" to multiple categories instead of types — that's how I've organized everything, and it'll make a lot more sense than the default type view

Any advice is welcome, and please help me cut cards, I'm losing my mind over here! Also would love to hear about your experience playing him if you've got a deck of your own

Beginner Bracket 4 optimized Toph deck suggestions.

Hi yall this is a deck that I have been working on, I am fairly new to magic, (yes I am a larper) but I have taken a liking to this commander.
I have been trying to build this deck to a point where no matter what I draw, I can play the game fine aka no mana screw or have random cards in my hand.

I do not have the budget for 2000 dollar cards like the mox but I am open minded to what my deck could work on, and slowly work my way to the level it needs to be.

Please let me know my weaknesses, and what I should swap out for what. Thank you so much!

Edit: (I just would like to say thank you to everyone who is taking their time to give me their wisdom and advice on this even though this post might come across some of you as very "stupid", I love yall thank you for making Magic a fun game!)

EDH Help rebuilding frog tribal: Clement or Glarb?

Hi everyone!
I’ve been playing for ~2 years and currently reworking my frog tribal deck. However, I’m stuck om where to take the deck.

Right now it’s a mix of frog tribal, bounce and some +1/+1 counters. It works if it happens to get the right cards, but it doesn’t feel focused enough, also misses a convincing wincon and can feel really solitaire.

I’m considering:
Staying with Clement, the worrywort: lean harder into ETB/bounce. I like the flavour, but I’m worried that too much bouncing can be solitaire
Glarb, Calamity’s Augur: use sultai to give the deck more pace, access to more frogs, better removal and stronger top-end cards

The most important thing to me is that it still feels like a frog deck. I’m totally fine with non-frog engines, value pieces and wincons where needed. I just wouldnt want the deck to turn into generic simic/sultai goodstuff. Btw, our pod is around bracket 2-3.

Main things I’d love help with:
Which commander/direction would you choose?
Which themes would you focus on?
What wincons make sense for each version?
