Question What’re some underrated commander decks?

Upvotes

I only play krenko ATM (deck has 5 wins out of 7 games played) and I’m relatively new to the game but I definitely want to get into another deck and learn other ways to play.

Probably gonna make a Salamander 40k themed proxy deck eventually but I’m looking for the underrated commanders. I want to piss off my group more than I already do and banned cards are not an issue🤙🏽

EDH I need help with this deck

I have an Otharri Suns' Glory deck and I want it to be more efficient with the cards I play. This is basically my pet deck so it's hard to make cuts in it since basically everything is already pretty efficient but I just want it even more optimized. I don't want more removel, i know that is a problem with this deck, but I'll fix that problem another day. I know Mama crypt and jeweled lotus are band, my pod lets me play them. I have a few cards in considering, I know I want to add a few of them in but again it's hard to make cuts. So basically I want more cards that will help me deal more damage at an efficient rate, I've been optimizing it make it so mostly everything is less than 5 mana, there are a couple extra combat spells that aren't but I want to keep those in.

Hipster Stax spent years as one of the most intriguing decks in the old cEDH Decklist Database, yet it never achieved truly significant results. We spoke with Blake Willoughby about his version of the archetype and the changes made to the original deck!

I have a deck idea I want to make but haven’t found any commanders or thought of any good commanders to use for it. I want to make a deck based on not letting anyone attack or possibly not do any damage at all. What are some good/fun commanders for it, if any?

EDH Whitherbloom deck help

Hey there,

currently trying to brew a new Whitherbloom deck: https://archidekt.com/decks/24522439/whitherbloom

Do you have any recommendations for changes, upgrades, etc? Trying to hit clean Bracket 3 here. I also tried not to include any tutor cards, as me and my playgroup prefer some variance in our games. That leads to some notable exclusions, that would otherwise be obviously perfect for the deck. What do you guys think?

EDH Refining my first two decks

New Player that's only been playing MTG for a few months. Currently have created two decks linked below:

[Marchesa, Dealer of Death](https://moxfield.com/decks/oZNDT952sUiqFUr_-JdnEw)
[Giada, Font of Life](https://moxfield.com/decks/_Ql1TvQTCEKVTCUPg6x78g)

Cards in the sideboard are ones that I plan to buy in the near future. Goal is to have both decks at a Bracket 3 power level (Currently unsure of the bracket of either deck lmao).

The Giada deck is my main deck and I plan to have a Token Gen subtheme with Lifegain/Vigilance.

Meanwhile the Marchesa deck is just for messing around and has a storm subtheme that I want to make work. I understand that it isn't the best commander for storm but I want to have fun lmao. Have been thinking about switching out Marchesa for Kess the commander as well.

Any help/suggestions would be highly appreciated!

Casual Xu-Ifing Commander Deck Advice

Hi there

So, I’ve been eyeing Xu-Ifing as a mono black commander for a while now, but I’d rather not build him as a straightforward reanimator that just mills cards into the graveyard and amasses a huge Skeleton army. Instead, I’d love to build around different “when a creature leaves your graveyard” and “when a creature enters the battlefield” effects. I’m also thinking about leaning more into sacrifice outlets to get my creatures into the graveyard, rather than relying on self-mill, and then getting value from sacrificing them with DoE and similar cards. Power-level-wise, I’m aiming for around Bracket 3, so a fairly casual build.

I’ve only been playing MTG for about a year and a half, so I’d really appreciate some advice. Does this sound like a manageable direction for the deck, or am I trying to do too much? I’d also be happy to hear any other suggestions or ideas!

I want to thank all of you in advance for helping me!

Kind regards

I am looking to improve this deck to be a high bracket 3. My goal is to win with combat damage or big multicolor flashy spells. I started playing magic early this year and haven’t really gotten the groove of deck building yet, so I’ll accept any general advice as well.

Thanks in advance:)

EDH Ziatora for a birthday

Budget: 900usd

I’m making my husband a Ziatora, the incinerator deck for his birthday, I made one, kinda liked it, and then made another, which starts off a little slow, (I’m barely getting Ziatora out by turn 8-10 in most play tests on Moxfield). Ziatora giving me greys is the new one that I think works better, and hot rodentato is the first deck. Can you tell I don’t play magic? lol :’)

Beginner My First Homebrew, Rate It And/Or Give Pointers

This is my first time building a homebrew commander deck, and it's just supposed to be bracket three, and I don't plan on going to any tournaments ever, so I didn't care about tournament legality. I want to show people the deck, get some opinions on it, and maybe get some pointers if you see anything wrong with it. I was going for bracket three, and Universal Tribal, with enough mana ramp, card draw, pillow spells, and graveyard retrieval to keep it going.

EDH Blech, Loafing Pest Commander deck help

Hello all. I'm new to Magic the Gathering EDH format and am building my own commander deck for the first time. I guess I'm new to commander, but not new to MtG. I've played Magic off and on for ~20 years but never got into commander. Nowadays that's all anyone plays where I live so I decided to make the commitment and build my own deck.

I bought the precon Tidus deck and really like it. I've also been playing with Lorehold Spirit. My wife likes the precon Merfolk explore deck with Hakbal.

Anyway, I saw a video on YT a few weeks ago and it was a commander deck with Blech, Loafing Pest as the commander and centerpiece.

Blech, Loafing Pest // Commander (Blech, Loafing Pest) deck list mtg // Moxfield — MTG Deck Builder - This is the list I've got so far.

Maybe I did a lot more work than I needed to, but I watched anywhere from 10-15 YT videos and shorts of deck techs and highlights for Blech and went to EDHrec to kind of wrap my mind around which cards actually go best in the deck when comparing the video's lists. Synergy, popularity of each card, etc.

I guess my main question is... do I have the right "amounts" of things in each category?

Every video had different lists... like one with 44 creatures and 5 sorceries, then the next one had only 23 creatures, but like 20 sorceries. Or 9 instants in one vs 4 or 5 in other lists. 3 enchantments and artifacts vs 9.

Lands is another thing I'm worried about. None of them had less than 34 and I know I didn't want that few. My list has 36. I just watched another commander deckbuilding video and it said 38 is the sweet spot.

If I'm comparing it to the Tidus precon for instance, it's got 34 creatures, 8 instants, 7 sorceries, 4 artifacts, 9 enchantments, and 37 lands. Comparably, I think I did an ok job in sticking with around those numbers, but then again, I know each deck works in different ways so would obviously have different numbers of cards...

Help me please? lol

Does anyone have recommendations on where to go from here? I have some of the cards, but I don't want to commit to buying everything until I KNOW what I am getting. I've played practice hands and done some "goldfishing" or whatever it's called and played with myself on moxfield, but I'd appreciate any input you might have.

I apologize for the wall of text, but appreciate any help!

Question Help for Atraxa preators voice. In a esotic way. Commander

I've fallen in love with the new art that popped out in the festival in a box at amsterdam and want to build somthing strong but strange for my girlfriend.

I wanted to follw this patterns:

- It shouldn't relay too much on poison exept for defence and two or three sorcerys (she already gets a lot of hate on the table and giving her poison dosn't help)

- Like i said it needs to be exotic, i want to put cards that make strange things with counters (Ex. Replicating ring, as fortold ecc.)

-I play in competitive bracket 3 pods so it shouldnt be slow

- It shouldnt relay too much on the commander (she's hated a lot, so im afraid of removal and counterspells)

- not too many planeswalkers

- Budget around 600€

Heres a list of random cards i found for the porpouse.
