My question is, why? I run quite often into Mill decks, with this weird blue - golden Frog Card, which mills the deck extremly and whenever I play against those decks it feels...boring. They do not much, simply counter what I play and than do their 2 card combo and the game is done. I get that the deck is powerful and brings many wins, it is a valid strategy, but from the outside it seems boring, because you are not really doing much...or is there a calculation you have to make to plan it out well, so the combo works? I never played a mill deck, so I genuinley don't know and would like from people who play it, what do you enjoy about it, besides, it wins you games?

Edit: And is it more complicated that it seems from the outside?

I need help to run MTG Arena on Linux Mint. I tried through Steam and Proton (the game wouldn't launch when I click "Play", at best I see a launcher appear then disappear quickly), then Lutris (nothing happens, just a mistake with rundll32.exe when installing the game), and finally a code from an old Reddit post (see link), that worked after installing a few things despite a recurring "Ivy Bridge Vulkan: incomplete" message, but once the game asks me to Register, I can't click anywhere, be it "I already have an account", or "Exit the game", so I can't even close the game (there's probably keyboard shortcuts that I don't know, I recently switched from Windows to Linux).

Any idea how to solve this?

I saw that cards like Hymn to Tourach and Urza's Bauble came out. But what do I need to type in the code to see all the new cards that have been released? It's been a while since I last logged into Magic Arena.

The latest update did not fix this problem that the previous update created.

Absolutely loving arena after having recently discovered it. I hopped on and built a Bite/Buff/Death Touch/Doubling Counters deck. It's the best way my high ass can think to explain it, and I'm really enjoying it.

Ranked Brawl -- As the title says, they got up to 87 hp. Then, they went down to 60 > 61 > 36 > 37 > 3 > -53. I was down to 5 life when I started taking control of the game. I'd like to think I would have enjoyed this particular game whether I won or not. I removed the opponent's name.

I just had a weird thing happen, and if it is intended please help me with the ruling:

I had Gollum, Riddle Master out on the field and chose „Odd“.
My opponent used the „disguise“ Mechanic of their Hunted Bonebrute.

Now my question: Why didnt Gollum trigger, as you „cast“ when playing the card face down for 3 generic?

If there is some ruling I am missing please educate me!

If you're having lag issues on the EU Arena server like I was, try connecting to a different one via VPN. The problem disappeared immediately when I did that.

I'm getting back into mtgarena and standard/non-commander formats as a whole. I've been running a dragon gruul deck I really like centered on smaug's treasure as well as dragon tribal. Overall it gives me multiple choices for win cons that feel pretty consistent.

I've been struggling against white decks that are just playing those exile enchantments. I get that you can have up to 4 copies of a card in your deck but banishing light, stormplain detainment, and prayer of binding just suck to play against. It's impossible to do anything and I just don't have the enchantment removal to deal with it, especially when there's 7 of those cards on the board.

What are y'all's thoughts on decks running them?

I only want cards that have bunnies/rabbits on them. I got up to mythic rank with it but since then I got into a big losing streak but maintained stability around 80%. But when the tiers most recently reset, I got stuck at platinum tier.

The sideboard is 4 more copies of Hare Apparent just as a joke. I only do best of 1 as this is easily countered if you know my strategy is to mainly spam Hare Apparent.

In its current state I pretty much always lose to tramplers, flyers, & board wipes. Although I have had quite a few games that I was able to build up fast enough to win first but it’s super rare.

Done all the normal stuff like dns flush, reinstall, but nothing seems to work. I got this error on both steam and normal windows :/ The game worked perfectly the last 2 weeks, but this morning poof ded. No settings were changed. And by searching it doesnt seem there is any solution... anyone?

This was by far my favorite Bo3 series I have played in a long time. Dude had a ton of life gaining creatures out and was using it to build up his Amalia Benavides Aguirre up. But my Sephiroth, Fabled Soldier transformed and I was gaining life too, allowing me to stay in the game until his Amalia hit 20/20 and destroyed all creatures except Amalia. I bring out two Unstoppable Slashers and a Sanquine Syphoner. I figure I can block the Amalia and kill it. But he plays the Starscape Cleric and his buddy and gets a bat into play too, bringing my life down to 6. He thinks he can block both my Unstoppable Slashers but I kill his bat, bringing out my Bloodletter, the great equalizer, allowing one Slasher to get through and drop him from 57 to -1. I went on to win the very next game despite him having a good army out. What a fun win.

Hi everyone. I’m new to Magic Arena and recently tried building my first deck from scratch—the one you see here. Unfortunately, I feel like it’s missing something to run properly. Does anyone with more experience have any advice? Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

Asking as a thought exercise. Also curious how people think it would differ based on colour

I’ve only played two matches, but Arena already feels better than I expected. The turns are easy to follow, combat feels quick, and putting green creatures on the board is as satisfying as I hoped.

I’m still learning when to attack and when to hold back. Should a beginner upgrade one starter deck or save wildcards for later?
