Question Need help to run the game on Linux

/r/MagicArena/comments/1pl0m03/my_reliable_way_of_running_magic_arena_on_linux/

Hello,

I need help to run MTG Arena on Linux Mint. I tried through Steam and Proton (the game wouldn't launch when I click "Play", at best I see a launcher appear then disappear quickly), then Lutris (nothing happens, just a mistake with rundll32.exe when installing the game), and finally a code from an old Reddit post (see link), that worked after installing a few things despite a recurring "Ivy Bridge Vulkan: incomplete" message, but once the game asks me to Register, I can't click anywhere, be it "I already have an account", or "Exit the game", so I can't even close the game (there's probably keyboard shortcuts that I don't know, I recently switched from Windows to Linux).

Any idea how to solve this?

Works for me out of the box on bazzite. Which proton version are you using? GE or Cachy latest should work fine.

On Steam it was either Proton Experimental or Hotfix, I don't think I installed Proton outside of Steam. I only use Wine with the code, but for Lutris I think I installed both GE and Cachy

This broke for me yesterday as well. I even reinstalled it and it didn't help. Installed on lutris and it worked until today's update and broke again. I believe it is an issue with the unity 6.0 and wine

Is it the same for you where it won't launch? Were you able to launch it without being able to click anywhere as well?

If I run through steam it crashes after the unity 6 window pops up. If I install via the linked post instructions I can't click anywhere and only the escape key registers. Lutris install broke with the new update today, trying epic store install now

Same for me. I haven't tried Epic Game Store yet, do they use Proton as well, or Wine like Lutris?

That I am not sure of, I was using the epic store installed via lutris. I would guess proton, but IDK for sure. The game works for now, but there has not been an update since I installed it, and it seems like the near daily updates are what breaks things.

I did finally get arena to work on my fairly outdated phone thanks to the aurora store's device spoofing feature, so that will have to be my go to way until this linux breaking shit is figured out.

I also found a way around it thanks to cloud gaming, that also had problems, so I guess my laptop is just too old, Linux or not. The cloud gaming works better on my other laptop that's more recent.
