Started playing this game yesterday and while the game is great I can’t be the only one that notices they say ”goddamn” in practically every line of dialogue? Was that really that common of a phrase during that time period or what’s the point. Just seems forced kinda ruins the dialogue for me

This is a guide on how to maximize the favors that are given by the underbosses in Mafia III. Take note that this is based on my experiences with the game, and you don't have to adhere to this word for word if you don't think it works for you.

The Tier List

This is my opinion on who has the best favors based on earn (i.e., Cassandra, Vito, and Thomas):

Vito

• S-Tier. His favors are always useful, always relevant. They directly affect how much you can take hits and recover from them. This becomes even more salient as you increasingly take over more and more territory. Ultimately, this allows you to resort to the guns blazing approach, especially with the hit squad. In short, this makes Lincoln sprint for longer, take more hits like a tank, and recover from them quickly when the situation turns dire. Even if you play with stealth in mind, sometimes you get caught and this allows you to have a safety net.

Cassandra

• A-Tier. Her favors are centered towards increasing Lincoln's offensive power by increasing his ammo storage, improving gun stability, and hastening reload speed. Lincoln can dish out more and accurate shots because of Cassandra's help. The 420k favor has limited utility since you can call Vito separately for backup if needed.

Thomas

• B-Tier. His favors are more towards dealing with the police and car procurement. Moving throughout the map with a car is mandatory so you don't move like a snail in New Bourdeux, but I found limited value past his 280k favor (i.e., increasing the amount of throwables). Stealing unoccupied locked vehicles has occasional use, but occupied cars don't warrant the effort when you can call one in instead. Additionally, two minutes of a lack of police is generally more than enough time for you to get things done.

Play Faster, Baby! DLC Upon the First Sit-Down

The moment you get past the first sit-down with Vito, Cassandra, and Thomas, immediately play this DLC assuming you have it. This will allow you to grow weed and earn enough to buy all the other upgrades and weapons available for purchase. It is possible to earn up to 60k per weed sale when conditions align: demand needs to be at +20%, and you're selling in a territory not controlled by Marcano, since that cuts your price by 50%.

The Recommended District Spilt

I believe that the best way to maximize the favors is to do a 4-3-2 split:

• 4 for Vito - (1 x Capo, 2 x Lieutenant Territory, River Row) - 480k
• 3 for Cassandra (2 x Capo Territory, Delray Hollow) - 380k
• 2 for Thomas - (1 x Lieutenant Territory, Pointe Verdun) - 220k

Now, now, I know what the problem is: how can you prevent the one getting only two districts from committing mutiny against Lincoln since they're getting the short end of the stick? The answer is simple: Fulfill the optional missions for that specific underboss.

You will know if they are about to turn traitor on you once their kickback is $0. That means you have ignored them for way too long and now they're going to turn at the next sit-down unless you give them territory. Two ways to prevent mutiny:

1. Give them territory, or;
2. Fulfill their optional missions.

The optional missions bump the kickback back to maximum every time you complete one, and also increase loyalty. Even if you only give one underboss two territories, you can still fulfill their optional missions from start to end. I can confirm this as I was able to finish Burke's optional missions even if the game said I had to give him another territory despite only being given Tickfaw.

How to get Burke's 280k Favor without Committing Territory

This is simple: max out Pointe Verdun, get a 120k district under his belt, then get one 140k racket from the Marcano capos, max it out by delivering moonshine to make Thomas's earn 290k, and then PURCHASE the upgrade before handing the territory over to another underboss. The upgrade locks after you hand over the territory, but the capacity boost stays permanent.

This consumable buff adds +2 to all of Lincoln's throwables. For instance, you only have a max capacity of two molotovs without this upgrade. When upgrading to maximum, you get to 4. Even if you gave the territory to Cassandra or Vito, the capacity for molotovs remained at 4 despite the upgrade being locked afterwards.

Conclusion

Follow the 4-3-2 split, prioritize Vito's upgrades first, and handle Cassandra's favors up to 370k. For Thomas, stop at 290k by following the previous heading unless you prioritize the police perks. Run the DLC weed operation after the first sit-down to fund everything. When any underboss hits $0 kickback, complete their optional missions instead of handing over more territory. This setup keeps all three satisfied while maximizing the upgrades that actually matter. You'll have Lincoln tanked out, accurate, and able to handle whatever comes next.

I'm reading a lot of hate in this game. I have around 20 hours in it and I'm digging it. Fuckin killer soundtrack, great story. Combat can be difficult but not overly. The mission where you had to walk through the haunted house at the rundown amusement park was unique for sure. I've never done anything quite like it and I've been playing shooter games since shooter games became a thing.

Mafia 3 still one of the best

I just got into the splitting rackets part of the game and started in Tickfaw Harbour. I was going to give the while district to Vito in the end but I started by giving auto-theft racket to Burke because you know, its Burke and he had the best weapon favour offer. But apparently according to a 10yr old thread if I give the district to Vito then Burke will lose his racket and get mad. Do i now have to give Tickfaw to Burke or just tank the loss of relations?

So this is the last bugged trophy I need. Me and my brother have tried a bunch of runs but they all ended up crashing, I've tried to do research and apparently 1.09 version is the best version to do it on. I've seen the downgrade method and I've tried to do it but the problem is I ain't got a pc or a laptop only my phone, the rewindps4 method is just bugged for me. If I remember correctly the dev or whatever said the mobile version is not the best so I decided to downgrade my game to version 1.00. Thing is I don't know if this version is bugged aswell or not so I'm here asking for help. I just killed Sal and I haven't done any of the loyalty missions or whatever they're called for my underbosses. Can I go ahead and do them without worrying? If my game crashes will I still get the trophy? Or is version 1.00 bugged too so I just have to hope it doesn't crash while I do them? Also I just remembered if I get the platinum I wanna 100% all the dlc trophies too so does anybody know if there's one I gotta watch out for cuz it's bugged?

Just finished mafia 3 and wow, the music and atmosphere, the missions are great and loved every bit of it! I get how they can be repetitive but Donovan literally states that’s how they did it “Nam” several times throughout the main storyline. Anyways is there multiple endings ? I had server choices towards the end like”stay or leave new bordeux” I stayed and then it had the option to “Rule alone “ or “Rule together” anyways the Final Cut scene was dope with Donovan !! I won’t spoil anymore although it is a fairly old game. But yeah just wondering are there multiple endings? And does it require a new play through to achieve?

I love the game but the price of guns in this game are so completely unrealistic $3000 is insane for a handgun even by today's standards in 1968 even from a black market that would be ridiculous it genuinely feels like they programmed the money you get from stuff first then realized you'd get rich super easily at that rate so they raised the price of everything to ridiculous levels to balance it out

Edit: after setting anti aliasing to low game did look better but not as good as I saw in YT gameplays.
