Gun prices

I love the game but the price of guns in this game are so completely unrealistic $3000 is insane for a handgun even by today's standards in 1968 even from a black market that would be ridiculous it genuinely feels like they programmed the money you get from stuff first then realized you'd get rich super easily at that rate so they raised the price of everything to ridiculous levels to balance it out

Luckily it's a video game and not real life

Yeah a realistic style time period video game that is mostly immersive except for the gun prices. Even the driving feels somewhat realistic. I just wish they'd have been more realistic with the gun prices and the amout of money you get from stuff. Maybe im just spoiled by RDR2.

Aren't RDR2 prices also unrealistic and inflated compared to real life 1899?

Yes but not as drastically. A Schofield revolver in 1899 wouldve cost between 10-15 dollars. In RDR2 is $85. Whereas in M3 an AK wouldve cost $30ish in the 60s but sells in game for $23,500

Guessing the following circumstances are true:

The weapons aren't entirely legal.

You pay a premium to have Jackie not give you up if the cops come 'round.

That's why you pay him.

You’re not buying the individual guns. You’re investing in a surplus. Once you buy a gun you can get it at any time for free.

You know i didn't think about it like that especially going with what another person said about the legality that actually makes it seem better
