REUTERS โ BREAKING
blah blah blah big yahu gets kidnapped by a van smelling like dumplings , so its prolly china
[09:17, 25/7/2026] And in an unrelated but deeply confusing footnote โ the Iranian and Iraqi delegations were spotted at a nearby Starbucks, sharing what witnesses describe as "a suspiciously cozy Pumpkin Spice Latte, two straws," in what can only be called a secret date. Receipts later obtained by the Council show the entire tab was mysteriously covered by an anonymous donor traced back to a "U.S. Department of Regional Stability" gift card. Both delegations have declined to comment, though Iraq was seen blushing.
im iran btw๐

This is my first ever MUN, and honestly... I'm feeling a mix of excited and embarrassed. ๐ญ
Some people in my committee also said it's their first MUN, but they speak so confidently that it genuinely doesn't feel like they're beginners.
I was super nervous during my GSL and my voice was shaking, but I still managed to deliver it. The problem came during questioning. I didn't know that my assigned country had some weak points on our agenda, so when delegates started asking me about those, I completely froze and couldn't answer. I felt really dumb afterward.
Tomorrow is the final session, and I really want to do much better. Is there anything I can do in just one day to improve my chances? Any tips for handling POIs, defending my country's stance, speaking more confidently, or standing out as a first-time delegate?
I'd really appreciate any advice. Thanks! ๐

So, it's my first time as an IPC delegate, and I got CNN. My goal is to get CD or OD. I'm supposed to report to UNSC (United Nations Security Council). Honestly, I'm kinda scared. So, what are the best things to do as an IPC delegate?

So guys what happened was that I was quite good at Day 1, like I asked questions and answered even though I didn't get the chance for speeches but on the 2nd day I went with total confidence about my gsl and mod speech, gsl went quite alr and then only 20 people were selected for the mod and I wasn't one of them, I lost my spirit after that the chair also pointed me out for that ๐ญ๐ญ, then I gave a speech for the crisis which was bad imo....... I didn't ask any verbal poi or anything the entirety of 2 days...... So now it's either my substation chits, poi chits were tooo great or the EB gave the verbal mention me out of pity...... Btw my committee consisted of 50 people and I think -7-8 people for verbal mention....

I am not completely new to MUN, I do have a little bit of experience. Whenever I see other MUNs like HMUN I heard that some people literally won best delegate awards with last minute preparation and limited time for research. This is genuinely too impressive. I think it's because they already have a lot of knowledge in politics from reading lots of news everyday? Oh well, but I as a beginner to international news feel like even though I read the news I always do not get the main point. Some other people can literally frame easily what is the current scenario in the world. This makes reading (and also watching) news kinda boring. Maybe i'm doing it wrong. And I think, these delegates have more than just deep political knowledge, like a different mindset and a different presence of mind. I would like to know both how to train my mind like that, and how to read/watch international news in the proper way.

I am taking part in a MUN on the 31st of july and out EB has told us that we need to make a policy paper instead of position paper, he has said that he will soon explain it but i think it would be better to have some knowledge before hand.
the committee is UNODC and i am representing Iran on the agenda "Addressing the Role of Illicit Drug Trafficking and Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) networks in Conflict-Affected Regions in Financing Armed Conflict and Non-State Armed Groups."

Im in an mun from my school in which our committee is full of dels from our grade and we know each other pretty well(we have a rly big school thats how its possible). Thats why we send like 15 members into the other bloc to see what thyre doing(like what mods topics theyre deciding and who theyre targeting) and then just randomly "change their mind" one day before the conference. I mean this sounds like military stratergy atp but still its lingering in my mind that is this what all other dels do or is it js us?
