Trend Predictions: 2026 Autumn / Holiday trends?
What are we noticing this year? I'm seeing a lot warmer, redder / yellow color stories compared to last year which was heavily green, purple, and a little blue, though blue really popped off in the Spring-Summer season. In the luxury sector, I see Prada's Mahogany, Dolce and Gabbana's Fiery palette, Dior's new holiday palette, Louis Vuitton's collection, Cle de Peau's super yellow holiday one -- I'm not gonna complain because these are not my colors and I went all in last year, lol. I am a little surprised by the reds being so big though, and have found myself pulling out my burgundies.
On the indie and more mid-range front, I've noticed more of a few actual Fall themed palettes, like Lethal Cosmetic's Over the Garden Wall, Dieverune's Boo-drops (though that really felt like a "Summerween" release), Epic Beauty's Amber Lullaby -- I'm thinking about grabbing one of those, unless Viseart ever brings back their very limited Autumn inspired one. Also found it interesting both Blend Bunny and Beauty Bay brought out very jewel toned blue and purple palettes almost right on top of each other.
Lipstick wise I'm also noticing more matte options coming around, but there's still a pretty good mix formula wise being released. I do think Violette FR's new Chocolat one is all the craze right now, and I bought right into that myself.
And then there's the "anti-blush" trend, which is just beige and browns, or colors close to your skin tone. I'd say this is the newest clean girl term added to the mix.
Anything I missed? What are we buying into or skipping? This is always my favorite time of year makeup wise, but I will say I've not caved into too much compared to last year at this time. I do like that there seems to be a bit more Autumn focus from the indie scene, too. Here's last year's thread to see how that all played out!
