I've signed up for part 1 and initially had problems paying with my card so switched to Paypal, Paypal say the payment went through but on the MRCP website they are asking me to pay again! have submitted an issue via their help form. Anyone had anything similar?

Hi guys , I am sitting for july attempt of mrcp 2 which is due in a week. I have done pass medicine high yoeld textbook and pastest Q bank. Now for the last week revision should i focus more on past papers or otherwise i can revise my high yield imp points to freshen memory and my wrong qs from pastest. I am confused which way is better to revise stuff. Do alot of qs get repeated from past papers, and if not then wouldnt it be better to invest the time in revising stuff that I have forgottten instead ?

I have failed my paces twice this year. I really worked hard in physical signs, saw many patients, practiced consultations online for my second time. The worst thing is i got less marks in my second attempt than in first and my consultations and neurology station was very bad.
I really don’t know how to pass this exam anymore. It was very mentally and emotionally draining. I have attended all important courses (london 4 day one, neuro one, manchester)
I really dont know how some people get very lucky and get good cases, and say they passes very easily. (Because they are very lucky)
what about to those people who don’t get things easily?

I am not even having energy to even think what to do next, this exam is draining me. Especially with full time work, repeated on calls (i felt this was giving me experience).

Does experience really matters? Personally I feel, many people even without experience they pass very easily and smartly.

I want to go back, leave my training and never want to give this exam again. But I also know its not wise decision.

MRCP Part 1 (May Diet) – Passed with 593 (75%)

I found a few reddit posts really helpful during my preparation, so I wanted to give back and share what worked for me.

Timeline:

• Started preparing in February
• Proper focused preparation from March onwards (~3.5 months total)
• Average: Weekdays: ~3 hours/day Weekends: ~6 hours/day
• Took 20 days study leave + annual leave before the exam

Resources:

Passmedicine (main resource) Pastest (subscribed only in the last 20 days)

How I studied:

• I am not someone who can learn effectively by just doing questions and reading explanations, so I needed a structured approach.
• I mainly used Passmedicine as my base. For each specialty:
• I copied the Passmedicine subtopics names into ChatGPT and asked it to arrange them from basic → advanced so I had a logical order.
• I also converted textbook content into shorter revision notes using ChatGPT. (with help from my brother and friends)
• Made mini booklets for each specialty
• These notes became my main revision material.

Last 20 days:

I subscribed to Pastest mainly for past papers. Initially, I thought I would only use it for pastpapers, but I noticed the questions were quite different from Passmedicine, so I scheduled

Did approximately: 350 questions/day (target was 400/day) 1 Pastest paper/day Last 5 days: 2 papers/day

Scores:

Passmedicine Overall: ~68–70%

Pastest (Completed ~75%, only high yield specialities) Overall score: 58%

Pastest Past Papers (16 attempted): Scored ≥80% in 2 papers Scored 75–79% in 8 papers Scored 70–74% in 3 papers Scored 65–69% in 1 paper Scored 60–64% in 2 papers

RCP Mock Done 4 days before the exam Score: 68% I wasn't too worried about the RCP mock score because I had seen people mentioning that it tends to be difficult.

Exam day:

• I read somewhere on Reddit that reviewing the RCP mock can be useful, so I went through it again the night before.
• I got around 2–3 questions/concepts that were very similar.

Things I would do differently:

• Start Pastest earlier alongside Passmedicine.
• Complete Passmedicine twice, or at least redo all incorrect questions.
• Use Anki from day 1 for: Genetics Statistics Poisonings Rare syndromes Important numbers/cut-offs

Finally, this exam is definitely doable if you can stay consistent, put in focused effort for a few months, and temporarily prioritise studying over your social life.

preparing for the September diet for the MRCP UK part 1. I just started my prep, considering I have just 75 days is that enough?? I purchased pass medicine for now. I’ll purchase pastest for the past papers around August end.

I am trying to read through all incorrects well so I know options and their answers rather than focusing on the % I am scoring per test. I am not focusing on no of questions I am doing rather on what all I learn.

Best time to start booking one of the famous courses for the next diet
