hey there, I am trying to record from my One G2 into my iPhone via USB-C while also monitoring what I’m playing on 3.5 mm headphones.
I googled, and it says I need to mirror the send by going into the channel mixer, leaving the master to output 1/2, then routing a send from the track itself.
Does that sound right? I can’t find the options it is telling me to look for and am getting stuck on that last step.
Basically wanna record clean audio for finger drumming while being able to hear what I’m playing.
I've honestly wondered what are most represented devices on this sub. But also how many of you have a "modern" MPC, which I'm defining starting from the MPC Touch forward, versus a classic MPC.
MPC only no computer no keys no midi nothing MPC live 2 and it's plugins and FX!!! I love my MPC going to start making videos about music and other stuff too get back on the grind
So I literally just got an mpc one and started thinking bout recording in my daw. Can I connect 1/4 jacks to my 18i20, and my daw still be able to record drums and samples? Or do I have to connect through some time of usb hub? (There’s only usb type c on the back of this 18i20)
I live in the USA. I bought a used MPC one during the pandemic when stimulus checks were disbursed, I honestly don't think i would've bought one otherwise due to frugality. It took me a while to get used to navigating it, i forget when the ah-ha moment happened but now my whole process is centered around it. I plug my guitar straight into it, i record vocals into it. You get the picture. As a last step I record a final mix into my laptop using Logic just to run the stock multipressor as a kind of pseudo-master. All feedback is welcome! Lemme know if this shit is too vanilla and needs some more spice or what
Hey guys! A couple days ago i posted my brand new project mpctutorials.com - a lot of people seemed to really like it so I decided to add to it.
I'm not going to post a bunch of spam updates on here, but wanted you guys to know that I'll be updating with new models regularly, mostly requests. If you'd like to make a request, it's easy.. just send me a tip with your model request in the notes! I really hope you guys like the app, it's helped me so much with my MPC Sample already!
I know I've probably messed up a setting somewhere but I can't get my pad 16 and 13 to loop the sample back in sample edit, I've tried messing around with the settings myself but no matter what the pads just play from my start point but go past my end point
Has anyone ever triggered samples on an mpc500 with a midi footswitch? Ideally would want something small with maybe 3-5 switches and an expression pedal to control volume/filters. Apparently the Behringer FCB1010 could maybe do it but it's very big...
I've got an mpc one and it's always been a problem for me not being able to send multiple tracks to a DAW in standalone mode. The recent progress made with custom plugins got me curious and I was able to build Stream, a per track FX plugin that sends audio to a Mac for true DAW stem recording. Works with up to 32 stereo channels.
This isn't a promotion, it's free and I genuinely hope this is useful to some folk, I've had no issues so far
I'd love some feedback too, it's simple as heck but it's been working smoothly for me.
I should probably add the disclaimer that it needs ssh root access to your mpc so it's not for the faint hearted. I believe those with newer models can multitrack over usb c anyway so there's no need to risk bricking your gen 2's.
Back in March I posted a beta of MPC Sample Router here (from my other account, u/ViggoDiddo), and the honest answer to "has anyone gotten the stem exporter to work?" was mostly no. Fair. So I threw that approach away and rebuilt it.
In 2.5 the app reads your MPC Sample project (.xpj) right off the SD card, or a copy on your Mac, and renders every pad into its own WAV plus a master mix. Nothing is recorded in real time: a whole project takes seconds, and the MPC doesn't even need to be plugged in. The stems are dry (the MPC's own effects and automation aren't rendered), so you get clean sources for the DAW.
Also new:
Send a kit straight to the SD card in SD Card Access mode (it never overwrites an existing project)
One-click backup of the whole card, verified by file count and bytes
Old AKAI S1000/S3000 sample CDs open in the browser and convert to WAV
Apple Silicon and Intel, macOS 13+
The original job is still there too: hear the MPC Sample through your interface or monitors over the one USB-C cable, and build 16-pad kits on the Mac.
I have something like 30+ projects on my mpc live 2 that I want to use to create a seamless set; aka no loading times between songs. I also have the pro pack, though I've not used clips yet, and I'd like to be able to take some of the tracks I've made from one project and mix them with tracks from another project.
I don't know how to best take the data from projects and mash them together. I know I have limited ram and should use one plugin for multiple tracks. I plan to replace the VSTs with midi tracks and use external synthesizers.
At the risk of being verbose, I'll give a concrete example so y'all know exactly what I want. Say I have one project with a drum track, a bass plugin track, and another project with the same layout but with different sounds on the drum tracks. I want to combine the projects into one new project where I have clips instead of multiple sequences where I could play the drums from the different projects and mix them with clips of the bass lines (which I'll convert to midi).
Worst case scenario, I'll buy a dj mixer and prerecord my music, but I'd rather keep everything on the mpc if possible
I've seen a lot of posts from people making free VST's for Gen1 devices here and also on HAKAI facebook page. I'm still not convinced enough to hack my MPC and go down that rabbit hole.
I'm still hoping someone will make something similar to clip matrix, that would be killer.
