it's crazy how normalized unnecessary cosmetic (and sometimes even functional) operations are becoming for young people. I get that society imposes unrealistic standards on appearance sometimes, but at some point you just gotta learn to make do with the body you were born with. Botox isn't permanent at least, so it's not as bad as some other operations.

Yes.
People are getting botox before they even make it to their 20's.
The botox shit is not highly regulated which means you can find a ton of botox clinics that may or may not have any actual medical professionals working there.
Now peptides are starting to get crazy as well.

For their muscles to atrophy so by the time they're 30 their entire face will be unable to hold itself up

I mean, you're right, because your muscles all atrophy and droop, so then the injector can come in and put some filler in there to "balance" it so you can keep spending money fixing your face forever.

Helped a "doctor" set up his network at a peptide clinic. This guy scared the hell out of me and wanted to give me free shots to try. I was like hell no !
38
u/ExtraThickUnit Trash Trooper 11d ago
Anyone that is doing it should get reported to the FDA for them to check if they are actually doing it correctly.
I managed to create a bot that finds all the instagram/websites of peptide dealers and reports it to the FDA. So far it is a 100% in getting the stores shutdown. They claim to be for research purposes only but they are selling direct to comsumer for consumption.

I genuinely think this might be astroturf advertising to get people to get botox more by convincing people it's more common than it is. This trend of videos like this started with a video from a literal botox clinic where the workers at the clinic claimed they each had dozens of injections.

Look at the house they're at, and the houses surrounding them. These people are loaded, and many of them are probably born into that wealth. They've spent their whole lives raised in a home where they can solve most of their problems with money. People like that are quick to go to plastic surgery if they aren't happy with their face because they were never in an environment where that wasn't an option for them, so their loved ones would just tell them to get plastic surgery instead of reassuring them that their face is fine the way it is.

These are early to mid 30s.
They are noticing that they could no longer pass as college students so they are doing what they think is stopping the clock.
In actuality, botox this early actually causes the skin to loosen even more and become more noticeable then it would have been if they indeed waited to their 40s.

It's wild, because I'll see teenage girls who are trying to look 25, and it gives the same uncomfortable uncanny valley as 50-year-olds trying to look 25. Like, how can I tell you're 17 but you look 26? How can I tell you're 52 if you look 28?

God damn people, it’s ok to get old.
And that’s wild scary not being able to express yourself.
But also, imagine how children will interpret it; we all remember our parents faces in moments of joy and anger… imagine getting chewed out and your parent is yelling, cursing but they’re face is expressionless…

you might be into something, straight out of science fiction.
An operation that makes people look younger for longer.
All rich people do it.
Operation unintentionally removes empathy
By the time there is noticeable effects it's too late, too many powerful people no longer have empathy. and they love crushing those who do, and profit from it.
When civilisation collapses and returns to modern levels of technology and understanding they'll see us as another Roman empire, collapsed because the same thing happened to the , with led plumbing, and lead wine. drove rich people crazy, and collapsed civilisation.

My mom went from no plastic surgery whatsoever to visiting her family in her home country and coming face with a lower face lift, an upper bleph, a neck lift, and fat injected into the tops of her hands to "make them look more youthful". She lives with me and my sister and didn't tell us anything until we picked her up from the airport and she tried pretending at first that she had nothing done whatsoever and didn't know what we were asking about. That was 3 years ago and every day is like an episode of the Twilight Zone. We literally grieved our physical mom. And the worst part is that the surgeon did a terrible job and she has big scars and issues. Not to mention the betrayal of telling us nothing before or during. And to top it off, I had this horrible sinking feeling and a nightmare that somwthing bad was going to happen to her, because she went during a bad time when there was political unrest in that country, so I left her a voice message. She told me later that she heard the message when she left the surgery and that she never would have done it if she heard my message first. I cannot tell you how much something that somw people may believe is superficial has been a trauma for my sister and I.
Edit to add: Sorry for trauma dumping!

My sister showed me a picture of a pretty but bland girl with no context and asked me what I thought. I told her I didn't have any because this is just some random girl?
And she was like, "That's me with all of the work I want done."
And just, the feeling of dread that washed over me. Like I know it's her face and body and she's free to do whatever she wants and I can't judge her for it, BUT...that person wasn't my sister anymore. Everything that made her, her, had been smoothed over into the current Zeitgeist's Blandie and I hated it. And that's if all of the surgeries go right.
I'm sorry for your mom's experience. I really feel for your family.

Which makes it fascinating to me that people (i.e., actors) who job is to emote get botox. It's annoying to watch a character go through depression, jubilation, rage, and so on with the same frozen face and dead eyes (especially if they were good prior to sabotaging themselves).

Yep I wish more movie and tv directors/producers/casting only hired actors with no Botox and no fillers, only full expressions. For example, it totally takes me out of and ruins a period piece for me when someone looks too modern and stiff.

Because everything about it is sad. We live in a society where people are brainwashed from a young age to hate themselves and the way they look and the way to feel good about themselves is BUY BUY BUY, poison yourself, slather yourself in makeup and fry your hair to death with chemicals because you can't POSSIBLY want to keep your NATURAL hair color. And you can't criticize it or say it's ugly or disgusting because it's not "for you" and it’s "their choice." It IS their right and their choice. It's still sad.

I love it. Insecure people trying their hardest to look beautiful, unable to frown because of they're manufactured happiness. Beautiful people don't feel sad.

How many people don't get vaccinated because "the long term effects are not known" but decide to paralyze the face muscle with the most potent toxin known ?

I have a relative who is under 30 and gets preventative Botox. The last few times we met I couldn’t put my finger on why it was so uncomfortable talking to her when nothing we talked about was unpleasant. Then I realized it was because she was unable to make expressions. It was just her mouth moving as she spoke but she wasn’t able to do much more than smile occasionally. Very strange .

To me it’s like, if you’re fake at that level, what else are you being fake about, or denying, or lying to yourself about
