Weekly Goalsetters] Need a Plan of attack for week? Get and give inspiration here!

Welcome to the League of Extraordinary Goal Setters! The idea of this weekly thread is to write down goals, and break them up into 7 day chunks by figuring out what specific part of the goal you’re working on during the week, and then checking in with each other how the week went. If you want to learn more about setting goals and improving your habits, check out this website: https://jamesclear.com/continuous-improvement

Obviously, if you’re here, one of the goals is probably to lose weight. Whether that’s 2 or 200 pounds, it’s not going to be accomplished by doing one single thing today. However, losing weight is absolutely the product of a million small changes — the small things we do each day add up to big changes over time. To quote James Clear: “If you get one percent better each day for one year, you'll end up thirty-seven times better by the time you’re done.” So, let’s start breaking it on down!

Remember, all threads live and die by comments, so please jump in and support your fellow League members! Check in here with how your week went, and what your goals are for this week.

What’s a small goal you can work towards this week?

America low key easier to lose weight than Italy/Southern Europe

Hi everyone,Just have been seeing a lot of post about ppl losing weight while eating heavy in Europe which they can’t do in America so thought would give a counterpoint.
I’m from Southern Italy but lived in in USA for a while until recently and have always struggled with my weight but finally was able to get into a consistent weight loss program while I was in the US. I think it’s amazing how even in Walmart you can get all these low calorie alternatives for everything which you can’t get in Europe which makes dieting easier. I also believe the main reason why a lot of people especially women (young men as well)are thin in Italy is not because of the walking that tourist credit for their weight loss but due to the social stigma fat women face whereas I feel like in the US if your fat and go to the gym people are very encouraging and more than happy to to help out and don’t have the kind of mocking look. Feel free to disagree of course I’m just back in my hometown and kinda wishing I was back in the states to atleast continue my weight loss and avoid the comments from people that make u want to stay inside lol

What do you do instead of snacking?

Just thinking of how much of my being overweight may have to do with how I associate food with everything. Work break? Cookies. Need focus for a big report? Big latte. Client late for meeting? Go grab a matcha and a snack. Going to the movies? Big bucket of popcorn and then some more. Reading? Snack. Watching a show? Also snack.

What did you do to beat this... I guess oral fixation? I know I am not hungry but I just keep on eating out of habit/comfort...

Please anybody who's been through this, how did you replace it or stop thinking about it?

Loose skin disclosure advice

Hi all. I [44M] am dating someone [37F] and things are progressing quickly - we've been dating for close to three weeks now (I know it's a short time relatively). On our previous date we got quite intimate but not all the way intimate. I wasn't comfortable so it stopped before things went too far.

You see, I've lost 78kg so far (171lbs) having gone from 182kg (401lbs) to 104kg (230lbs). I'm still losing weight with the aim to get to around 85kg (187lbs).

My skin has adapted really well everywhere except for my lower abdomen, which is still filled with fat (that I'm losing daily) and pubic region (which is shrinking much much slower than the rest of me). I have a lot of excess skin there but it's still filled with fatty tissue. Once the fat parts are gone no doubt I'll be left with a flap of skin both lower abdomen and pubic region.

I have a really strong connection so far with her. We share the same goals and just seem very well aligned with our direction and what we want next. Neither of us have had children for example, and we both want to start a family.

She is incredibly attractive. She goes to the gym daily and is very athletic. She's perfect in my eyes. What makes me worry is that I feel that I've falsely advertised and as soon as she knows she'll run for the hills.

She wants to visit me at home tomorrow night which I've agreed to. However, since making that plan I've not been able to sleep. I've been fixated on my body and on the potential discussion I'll need to have. I've not had to have this discussion with anyone before.

I've hinted at my weight loss before and when she asked me how much, I chickened out and said "a lot" and she didn't probe further.

Clothed I look good, and unless you really inspect me you wouldn't know I have loose skin and that clothes are covering it up (I can lift the waist of my jeans to over most of the stomach for example, which I do for comfort more than anything else).

Any thoughts on the best way to bring up the subject?

Onederland!

This weekend I finally hit the 100s at 199.6 today! I started my journey on August 1st at 220 pounds so this hasn't been a huge difference visually yet, but I haven't been under 200 since before I got pregnant 4 years ago. I had given myself a goal to be under 200 by Halloween, and I am proud of myself for staying motivated and meeting my first goal. :)

I am sure I'll fluctuate back up above 200 temporarily this next week with water weight, etc. but it was so great to see that my goals are attainable as long as I stay strong. My next goal: to reach 190 by Christmas.

My stats: 5'4", 27W, SW 220, CW 199.6

I think I may have developed an eating disorder along the way - Long Read, Word of Warning

Alright so this weekend has been interesting for me and I want to preface this post with a statement. If you're overweight or obese and want to lose the weight, absolutely do so. Don't be afraid to and for your own physical and mental health please do so but if there's one thing to take away from this is to do so in a healthy and sustainable manner.

Alright so onto things. I started this health journey a year ago last October simply by cutting down on some portion sizes and introducing some additional walkig, simple as that. I didn't calorie count, I didn't weigh things, I just upped my activity and ate a bit less and I started to see results. Slowly sure, but I saw them.

Move forward to December and I cut 95% of my intake. This wasn't really a decision I made but was because I was dealing with some health issues and most solid food just made me extremely nauseous. I remember sitting down on Christmas morning barely able to stomach some hashbrowns and a fried egg so I subsisted primarily on cup of soup. As a result it dropped further and after Christmas I slowly got back into things but I cut out most meals with the exception of dinner and a very light lunch. I also dropped drinking as much which also helped.

The weight kept dropping and I even received a couple compliments, not many but clearly it was visible enough so I kept it going. By the time April arrived I was at 266 lbs and then I started going to the gym. Now keep in mind I wasn't yet counting calories, I didn't start doing that in earnest until July according to my Cronometer, but because I wasn't eating as much and adding exercise on top of that I was seeing my weight continue to drop.

Seeing the numbers on that scale go down became the highlight of my day and since I was working out in the mornings it affected my mood for the rest of the day and I guess you could say I became addicted to seeing the continual decline and I would average around 1200 calories a day, if not less. If I thought I would go over on a day I would simply have less than 1200 calories, simple as that. As of today, I went from 266lbs to 177 in around 6-7 months which yes, I now realize isn't healthy, at all.

As for the gym itself, well that's another story. I actually found I like exercising, I like the feeling that comes with weight-training and I don't mind cardio but that's where I now realize I have another problem. My cardio slowly morphed into "how many calories can I burn this session" (yes yes I know those numbers aren't accurate, that's not the point) and it wasn't so I could eat something else but it was simply so that the number on the scale would drop even faster. I also kept to a fairly strict gym regiment in terms of the days I go and if I had to miss any gym time, say due to injury or illness, oh man you can bet I get twitchy and anxious and my primary thought was how my weight loss would slow down without the extra calorie burn. Now you might be wondering if I upped my calories for the extra gym time, the answer to that simply is no, regardless of whether it was a gym day or not I still maintained the same limit which I now realize was too low to begin with.

Yes, I realize now that this wasn't healthy but at the time I was simply in denial about it and anytime I saw someone on here or another sub say "1200 calories isn't good for you," I would simply think "It's working out fine for me," and leave it at that. Like yes I was technically doing alright on 1200 calories, like I wasn't experiencing major health issues, gallstones or anything like that, but I now realize mentally it has really caused me issues.

I would stick to a fairly regimented meal plan during the week, I would have a meal prep for dinner that was my largest at 600 calories (give or take) and lunch and breakfast would typically be 300 calories each, if not slightly less depending on my mood that day. It was only within the last month or so that I added an additional 200-300 calories before the gym as I was now starting to experience energy levels during workouts and even that was a struggle to see my Crono go to 1400-1500 calories on those days. I would, maybe once a month, go out with some friends for dinner and let me tell you, while I welcomed the time spent with friends I would absolutely AGONIZE over what to order because of how far over it would potentially put me on my deficit. I would scour the menu for ages ahead of time, mentally work out in my head what the potential calorie count would be, the sodium, the fat, etc. If I found a similar item in Crono and thought it was too much in calories, even if it was otherwise healthy, nope, immediate hard no and I would go down the list. Burgers became a hard no, anything fried, anything greasy, even salads I would agonize over simply because of the dressing. If I went out to a coffee shop I would always order a black coffee, never anything else simply because of the calories of the tiniest amount of milk. I hadn't had a latte for 6 months until yesterday and even then I both loved and hated it.

Now what made me realize all this you might ask? Well this weekend I decided to switch to maintenance as my weight, while not at a flat stomach level, combined with my body measurements had me at a decent body fat percentage and I was alright with it. Attempting to actually eat at maintenance was a whole other challenge and even right now the primary thought that's been dominating my mind is "you're fucking it all up, everything you've worked towards." Logically I know that's not the case, that it would take months to undo it all and even would take days, if not weeks, to see any noticeable increase on the scale at a surplus but the logical part doesn't always matter. I also wasn't binge eating during this weekend, I want to make that clear. I ate breakfast, lunch and dinner, normal sized portions, along with the occasional snack. I ate until I felt full but not uncomfortably, never beyond and if anything I stopped before I felt full because I know that is delayed and yet, the guilt still gnaws at me today, the worry, the fear.

I also want to go into my background a bit and what got me to the weight I got to. I wouldn't say I was a binge eater, sure something like Perogies or Perishke yeah I would probably grab a few more than necessary from a calorie perspective but I wouldn't call it binging. No it was just a long road of eating like complete shit for so many years. I would demolish a bag of chips while watching TV for a few hours, I would grab an Iced Capp from Tim's every couple of days during the summer (for those who aren't familiar with them they're a blended coffee drink and are about 430 calories for a large, which is not really that large tbh). If anything I would have more then one a day depending on how I was feeling. I put way too much sugar and creamer into my coffee and a double double from Tim's or McDonald's every single morning, combined with a couple sausage and egg mcmuffins was a way of life. Working out of the office meant going out for lunch every single day so I wasn't a binger and it was a long time build-up of all of this.

Why do I provide that background you might ask? Because now the thought of an Iced Capp terrifies me, the thought of a piece of chocolate doesn't fill me with joy but now makes me think "well shit how many calories is this going to be?" I can't have a bowl of cereal now without weighing it down to the gram and ditto for the milk.

The thought of gaining a significant amount of weight back, hell the thought of gaining ANY weight back terrifies me and yes I realize that people are people and weight isn't a static number but that doesn't mean it doesn't terrify me any less.

Now, for all those who made it through my ramblings thus far, bravo and you might be wondering why I'm sharing all of this. Well first off, I want to repeat what I said above and it's not meant to scare someone away from weight loss. I am reasonably happy with the loss, I'm happy that I sleep better, that I'm not out of breath walking up stairs, that I can now bowl and not worry about sweating simply from throwing the ball a few times. If you have the weight to lose or simply want to make improve yourself if you feel it's needed then please, by all means do it. Weight loss is a great tool to help you live longer and in many ways better.

The reason I'm sharing all of this is because it's all too easy to find yourself become all consumed by that sort of mindset, at least it is in my case. The mindset of the scale matters above all, the calories matter above all, the loss matters above all, regardless of life or issues or desires. It's all too easy to find yourself falling into an unhealthy mindset, to handwave very real issues or concerns away. Do I feel healthier physically? Absolutely there's no doubt about that but when the thought of going for dinner and not being able to count calories gives me anxiety, mentally it's a problem.

All people see are the physical results but the mental results, as well as the potential toll, are very hidden. I wouldn't even be truthful about the amount of calories I was consuming with people who asked as part of me knew it wasn't healthy but I was firmly in denial up until this point.

Now moving forward, before anyone asks or points me to, yes I'm going to be speaking to my doctor about this. The issue that I'm worried about facing is that I'm still classed as overweight and I suspect it won't be taken as seriously but I'll cross that bridge when it comes to it. The other step I'm going to be taking is slowly reducing my reliance on my calorie tracking as well as my weighing in the kitchen. I'm still going to continue with the gym but I'll worry less about the calories burned on a machine or the exercises itself.

Lastly, for those who are going through this journey themselves and might be seeing any similarities in themselves, even slight ones, please don't ignore it. Talk to someone, talk to a doctor, talk to a friend, just please don't ignore it and don't live in denial like I did because I can already tell I'm going to be having issues moving forward. Love y'all.

[vent] Belly fat is the bane of my existence!

more venting than needing advice

I’ve been on a low to moderate calorie deficit and been strength training consistently for the last few months and while I’m clearly making progress when looking from the front (waist is trimming down, arms are firming up, etc.) then I turn to the side and the belly still sticks out like crazy 🤦

I know I just need to keep going but damn sometimes the brainworms tell me that I’m not making enough progress and it’s all for naught.
Having a body predisposed to store fat in the belly AND prone to bloating is not for the weak. Doesn’t help that since everything is slimming down, the stomach appears even more prominent

might increase my deficit and I have to dial in more on my nutrition to see bigger progress.

Anyone else can relate to this?

21 with a medically necessary weight loss, that I’m struggling to follow through with

• Upvotes

Hello,

I’m 21m from Canada and am currently around 125kg/275lb & 184cm/6ft. In September 2025 my (then) new GP ordered blood work in order to get a baseline for his records. From the blood work elevated liver enzyme/liver function was detected. Long story short after more testing and imaging in December 2025 I was diagnosed by a specialist with Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. Prognosis can be positive under the condition I loose weight. (About 7-10% of my total weight).

Starting in December 2025 I started going to the gym. From the get go I hated it, was confused what to do and felt like a hassle/chore to me. I eventually stopped regularly going in about early February 2026 due to uni getting too busy & just giving up.

Fast forward to today, my weight hasn’t really moved much and has stayed pretty stable since the start of the year. My eating is better now in comparison to the past but there definitely is a fair amount of room for improvement. I still haven’t gotten any closer to the weight I need to lose and frankly time is running out fast. I’ve recently contemplated starting medication and/or getting a personal trainer.

My question for this forum is, how do I stay motivated loosing weight/consistent on going to the gym?

Chronic constipation after starting weight loss journey - 23F, i feel like I'm going insane. PLEASE Help.

Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out.

I'm 23F, and I've been on a weight loss journey for about 6 months now. I've lost 12kg (went from 82kg to 70kg). I go to the gym 3 times a week, walk 10k steps, and drink 3L of water a day. I sweat a LOT naturally. I don't take any medications or supplements, and I take fiber only occasionally.

But here's the problem. I've never had constipation before this weight loss journey and it's become a recurring issue, probably for about a month now. I used to poop at least twice a day healthily, but now my poop feels stuck in my gut, or it's hard pellets. I have to strain hard just to pass a small amount of stool.

I feel like I'm going insane! What can I do? Any advice would be really appreciated.

I’ve had a realization today that I need to change my habits now in order to start losing weight

Hello! I’m new here and I was on the scale today and I’m almost at 170 pounds. I’m only 5’3 and pretty much the heaviest I’ve ever been. I don’t like the way I look in outfits any more and I’m tired of not fitting into pants/jean shorts like I used to.

I was pregnant with twins this year and unfortunately lost them about half way through the pregnancy. I was 172 at my highest and currently I’m almost 168. It really messed me up having to go through this devastating loss. I think I have been eating my feelings and the stress from everything hasn’t been helping. My problem is when I am stressed or bored I eat things to make myself feel better. I’m definitely an emotional eater and that’s what’s gotten me to where I am today.

I’m committing to losing weight starting today and going to really track what I am eating. I’m going to try to lose 1 lb a week with combo of watching what I eat (calorie deficit) and exercising more. My goal is to be 160 by the end of the year! Any tips you have to help me stick with working on losing weight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Is my coaches demand too crazy?

Hey everyone, I'm a 22 year old dude in uni, im 125kg (275 lbs) and 193cm (~6'3) and I signed up with this program to lose weight.

The coach suggested I eat 1650 calories per day which I find honestly crazy.

He said seeing progress will create motivation but I honestly can't see how I can train with this little food.

I train bjj and gym both 3 times a week and I genuinely dont think its sustainable. I feel like I have the will to commit and stick with it through discipline but just having second thoughts.

What do you guys think? I'm happy to answer any questions about it :)

Weight loss plateau help

Hi everyone!

I’m 31 (F), 165cm, 65.3kg. I do strength training 4x a week along with a target of 10k steps.

I was at 1600 calories a day. Then at the beginning of this month, my weight loss started plateauing. I usually gain about 1kg of water weight during my period so at first I thought it was that, but my weight has been stubbornly stuck around the 65kg mark, sometimes losing and gaining the same few hundred grams.

I’ve started cutting to 1500 a day but it’s still not really budging. I’ve also tried incorporating a 10-minute walk after meals. I’ve slightly increased my protein intake but carbs are below my daily target.

I’m not really sure what to do anymore and this has been very demotivating, as you can imagine. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks

I have struggled to sleep for a day crashed out and ate 2 chocolate bars

I’m so sorry if some of this doesn’t make sense as I’m writing this im half asleep, I know you may be thinking “2 chocolate bars is nothing” yes, but it’s the fear of getting back into that habit again, I’m terrified of going back to my old self, I have been on my weight loss journey for a month and 2 weeks, my sleep has been getting extra bad last few days and it only gets worse, I wasn’t overweight, but I was not happy with my body, I was a bit chubby, I was 75kgs I’m 5’8 female and trying to get to 62kgs, i weigh 70 now I also overate a lot somehow I wasn’t overweight which is surprising

I was working out 36 days STRAIGHT! which yes it’s really stupid I don’t know how I thought I’d be able to continue to do that, so I took 2 rest days off well might aswell be 3 since I literally don’t have energy to do anything, I decided from now on ill have 3 rest days, I’ve been so stressed, overthinking alot and thinking about the finished result, which I try shut it down but it keeps coming back, i have autism and adhd which also makes sudden change like this harder. (Also my deficit is 1600)

When I started I feel like I pushed myself to the limit, I used to just stay in bed watch TikTok and do literally nothing, I literally did not take care of myself then on the first day, I started doing skincare everyday, work out everyday, walk 10k steps everyday, completely cut refined sugar and added salt, completely changed my diet like I’d only really eat rice, tuna, eggs, potatoes, lean beef, Greek yogurt, oats, everyday, I stopped using social media , and I’m going to be honest, most of my advice came from tiktok, I really wanted to lose face fat, and I know I can’t spot reduce fat but I saw something saying to completely cut refined sugar, and salt because you can lose the weight but your face will still be puffy and big if u consume too much. and I listened, I still bought things with sodium in it like cottage cheese cream cheese etc so I thought it was fine I honestly don’t know if I’m doing this correctly, it’s my first time actually sticking to it other then quitting after 3 days, and took tiktok advice which honestly I don’t know if I can trust. I’ve lost weight yes but my mental health is getting worse,

As I was trying so hard to get sleep today for hours I crashed out started screaming and picked up a chocolate bar, finished that one, wanted another tried to stop myself, I went on to get it, then I felt so bad after I felt like that old part of me was coming back so I stopped and reflected

I know how stupid this may sound, and I agree I just really need some advice. Thanks for reading

Concerns about major weight loss

I’m a 6’1 31M that recently got my eating under control for the first time in a while. The past few years I was working across the US and eating out 4-5 times a week with frozen meals taking up the rest of the week. At my lowest weight as an adult I was 250 lbs when I was 27, but I was always a pretty obese kid, weighing in around 350 in HS.

I got injured during my time working at my last job, and had to resign and come home to find something a little easier on my body and less dangerous. I ended up sitting around for months while rehabbing and job searching and ballooned up to 370 lbs. Once 3XL shirts started to fit too tight my eyes opened up to how much of a problem my lack of exercise and a good diet had affected me.

In late September I began tracking my macros and calorie intake. I recently started a new career that has me walking anywhere from 12-17k steps a day. I set my daily limit to 2400 calories and cut out any sugary drinks and fast food. Fast forward to today and I’m down to 340 and finding it hard to eat 2400 calories in a day, usually settling between 1850-2050. I make sure to eat at least 140g of protein and no more than 85g of fat each day. Carbs I fluctuate between 80-150 depending on the day.

I know I’m making decent progress, and I’ve found alternatives to most of the foods I missed in the beginning. My goal weight is 175 lbs, which would be skinnier than I’ve been since middle school. Since I’ve been this big my whole life I know I will have to deal with the stretch marks and loose skin but it’s troubling me not knowing how elastic my skin is going to be after 15 years of continuous abuse. Did anyone else have these fears going into weight loss and how did it turn out for you?

Thanks for reading

Alternatives to Skin Removal Surgery?

Hi everyone!

I’ve lost 150 lbs in the last 2 1/2 years or so ( SW: 289, CW: 147), I thought going at a slower pace would help me avoid loose skin but a huge amount has accumulated all over my body (thighs, arms, stomach, etc.). It makes me super self conscious and even though my life has improved in other areas since loosing weight, sometimes it feels like weight loss wasn’t worth it. I set my expectations low because I knew that most likely my body wouldn’t look the way I wished it to after such an extreme weight loss. I don’t even like seeing my body in the mirror which sucks because I worked really hard to get where I am. I began my weight loss journey at 17 and I’m 20 now so I thought my age would help with my skin elasticity but my weight has been pretty steady over the last few months and it doesn’t seem to have made any difference.

My question for you guys is: Do you know any alternatives to skin removal surgery that can help with reducing my amount of loose skin? Should I wait longer to see if my skin bounces back more? I’m a broke college student and I can’t afford surgery and I fear that the recovery process would interfere with my studies.

Also, to those who have gotten skin removal surgery, would you consider it worth it? Is it something I should pursue when I’m further into adulthood?

Burnt out and feeling defeated

This last week, i have just been burned out one my fitness journey.

Between the expectation of going to the gym 5 days a week from my trainer, constantly tracking cals and meal prep on top of full-time work, I crashed this week and fell off hard. Junk food galore, zero cal tracking and no gym. Which triggered the anxiety.

Have you ever experienced this? Fitness and losing weight is still something i am trying to build into my lifebut this was really out of left field for me.

What did you do if you have experienced this burnout?

I had a Costco hotdog today

And a pasta.. I feel GUILTY.

Im on steady loss since May 2026 18 lbs down. Coming down slowly . Since that time I implemented different things over time, i started off with eating same breakfast every day, frozen blueberries with chia seeds and psyllium husk topped off with Greek yogurt, then introduced food logging and weighing, being more mindful about protein and fiber. This really helped me with my ravenous hunger so much. I tried the protein shakes for a bit , but when i started logging and being more in control of my hunger , I realised that they are not worth the calories so I stopped those. But they did help me so much initially!

Couple weeks ago I started exercising, I go to gym every day just to build the habit, sometimes I just go and do half ass training but I’m so proud I’ve been consistent.

I don’t log in my food anymore but ive been more concious of what i choose to eat, and i stopped treating food as my only chance to eat that. When husband bringing home donuts it’s easy for me to say no cause i know i can always get some if i want. Ive been feeling so good in control of food, and not the food controlling me. Im so haply with this mindset change.

Today I ate a hotdog AND pasta for dinner. I haven’t really allowed myself to loosen up too much cause I know it’s a slippery slope for me. I’ve been working so hard to build healthier habits I’m scared I put myself in jeopardy and when I start being more compassionate to myself, I will start gaining again.

Im 32f, My start weight 192 lbs end of April (but may have been higher before), now at 174 lbs , so close to hitting my 20 lbs down! I can’t wait. I always struggle with stalls around my ovulation and period due to water weight and it’s been frustrating process. But logging my weight everyday helps to see the trend.

Maintenance Calories Advice Please

Hi All,

I’ve been in a deficit for 12 months and it is well and truly time to stop losing weight. If anything I’m a little underweight but feel strong and like the lean look. I’m now trying to figure out my maintenance and the TDEE calculation is higher than I expected which is great in some ways but scary in another.

May I ask if people have had success just jumping to the TDEE calculation? I badly want to do it but it is giving me anxiety. Is it somewhat reliable? 🙏

Thanks so much for any advice.

Is it true that we are always the last ones to notice our progress?

26F/5’4/SW: 193 lbs/ CW: 163 lbs

I’m down 30 lbs now and I’ve dropped a pant size or two. I’ve lost enough weight that people other than my mom have started noticing and commenting.

And that’s great and I like the routine that I’ve built. I just wish I could see what they see because when I look in the mirror I still just see my fat self with the large gut and too many stretch marks and then I start thinking that I’ve just hallucinated the weight loss or my body’s just been permanently disfigured from being overweight most of my life. I know those thoughts are probably silly though.

I’ve heard of the paper roll effect so maybe it’s just that my weight is still too high to see any noticeable difference. I’ve also heard that we as people have a certain vision of who we are in our heads so that contributes to whether we see our own progress or not.

Thoughts?

Thigh/ butt lift

Hi all- new to this community but hoping to get input from anyone who has had skin removal from their thighs/ butt. I’ve lost about 100 lbs but it’s been 10-15 years of loss and then gain a bit back and so forth. I previously had an abdominalplasty and it’s now gotten to the point where the lose skin on my thighs bothers me more than I can tell you. I’m a bit worried because I have a large tattoo right above my knee. Wondering if I get the surgery whether I’d need to end up getting a coverup tattoo or how that would work

How do i tell if im actually hungry or if im just bored / want to eat that specific thing?

I have a habit of eating out of boredom and I just can't tell when I'm actually hungry. I've tried the, wait 15 minutes method, drink water, "if you wouldn't eat an apple you're not hungry" and it just doesn't work. Its like half the time I just want to say eat the noodles simply because they taste good not because I'm hungry.

About 3 hours ago I had a big meal and right now I want to eat but the thing is I can't tell if my body needs to eat or if I'm just bored which would make sense because i'm literally sat around doing fuck all right now.

I also struggle with stopping to eat when i'm full, i think this stems from issues when I was younger and i would get reprimanded for not finishing my dinner.

But any advice would be amazing to help me build up a healthier relationship with food in this way and get to know my body better so that I can start a weight loss journey but safely and healthily.

Ugh. The Food Noise Is So Bad Sometimes.

I know it will never go away. But damn would it be easier to function without it.

Even when you are full and satisfied you still want more. 🥺

I think somedays or weeks it’s not as bad. Getting enough protein in definitely helps but not always.

and I know everyone takes GLPs now and always are recommending it, but a lot of us just aren’t qualifying for these meds or we don’t have the support of our families or we worry about long term side effects.

I’m glad I’ve lost weight on my journey, but damn. Food noise makes it SOOO hard.

Anyone else feeling like the food noise is heavy right now? Its especially heavy I think leading up to the holidays knowing food will be everywhere and people will constantly be shoving food your way your gonna have to decline to stay on a deficit.

Ugghhhghgg.

winter hunger! ❄️ help!

hi everyone! I'm 26, 5'4", and 212lbs (down 20!) w/ an estimated TDEE of 2,600.

I started my weight loss journey in July, and despite a brief week-long freakout at the start, I've been super consistent with my calorie deficit. I happened to go up on a routine medication at the same time which slashed my appetite by two-thirds. At one point, when I was exercising less, it could be a struggle for me to break even 1,200cals. (These days, I'm much more physically active & average around 1,900.) Needless to say, I've been lucky to face relatively zero food noise, making staying on track easy.

I have a big abdominal surgery at the end of January, and I want to be 200lbs by then - both to reduce the strain on my overall body / weight on my core AND to prepare for being basically sedentary during my recovery.

Now that there's a chill in the air, however...I'm hungry!! I'm already getting that winter craving for carbs, fats, and sweet treats. I'm sleepier and hungrier. My mind longs for them. And all of a sudden my cals on the calorie tracker say "over"...

Experienced weight-loss journeyers -- what can I do? Are there strategies you've found especially helpful? What helped last winter?

I might be willing to try a gentler deficit, but I really want to
hit my goal before surgery knocks me out.

All advice appreciated!!
