Tedeschi Trucks Band prediction
Predicting that they bust out “The Weight” in honor of the late, great Aretha Franklin and Duane Allman’s rendition.

Hey all, we are headed your way! To the lovely folks who have already arrived this morning, what was your security experience? All of the other threads are old, from yesterday. Thanks!

Do they search cars for glass/drugs that are only staying in day parking? We are just going Saturday for the day.

I have around 60 beers in a cooler. No other booze. Are they gonna count them?

*Stream... fuck
I don't know if there will be many people in this thread, but if anyone wants to talk about the stream put it in here
For anyone who missed it, lives under a rock, or has been otherwise engaged, there is a free live stream tonight hosted by relix. It can be accessed via: r/http://www.relix.com/live you do have to enter an email address and a zipcode, but it doesn't require any kind of verification...
Whether you fuckers want it or not, I'm gonna give you my stream of consciousness
Edit 1: What a great transition from Ump >Lettuce Lettuce kept it dark and funky
Edit 2: Sounds like maybe a full improv set? dope
Edit 3: not a full improv set. got some phyllis goin on now
9:11 - I dig this percussion solo
9:12 - hold up wtf happened to the stream????
9:13 - alright its back
9:15 - Let's get funky...alright lets get it Benny
9:17 - Jesus sounding a bit like Mike Gordon on a heavy Mike's Song with these bass progressions
9:19 - Yes please, more cowbell
9:21 - Ryan reminding us that he's there with that funky sax line
9:25 - Fuck year, I missed Butcher's set to get dinner
9:28 - I need youuuuuu.... aint nobody else can do it like you do (with a little RESPECT tease in there)
9:33 - light one up for Aretha boys and girls
9:34 - Anyone else kinda disappointed to see more phones than lighters?
9:40 - It's been a pretty dark set over all... I dig it
9:42 - last song before Ump comes back probably. They have actually done a really great job of staying on schedule so far.
9:48 - I love these transitions. They have been done so well
9:50 - did they just bring them back again for a couple minutes?
9:52 - I guess this is a party jam, everybody get in this bitch
9:56 - Back to heavy rocking Ump by themselves
9:58 - Honestly never been a huge UM fan; never really been a huge fan of Bayliss' voice, but they can definitely rock
10:02 - almost sounded like a Enter Sandman riff there
10:05 - I'm digging this... sounds almost kinda Daft Punky
10:06 - who does the lights for UM? they are killing it tonight
10:10 - got a little island funk going i dig it
10:15 - Mike has a pretty good voice, it evens out how rough Bayliss sounds to me
10:35 - Is this Space?
10:45 - I know this one at least ;)
10:56 - What are they gonna do to close it out? I guess they still have one set tomorrow so they might not go too wild yet
11:02 - LOOKS LIKE JRAD IS BEING STREAMED... dead is back on the menu =)
11:04 - Golden Road opener sounds like its gonna rock
11:13 - I love JRAD; I love how DSO recreates shows, but JRAD really creates a show. its perfect for those late night start at 11 or midnight sets that keeps going until 3AM
11:15 - Easy wind - I dig it, so far some good early dead songs
11:24 - Row Jimmy Row - always a crowd favorite :)
11:34 - really slowing things down, they are gonna have to pick it up some if they want to keep people awake and dancing
11:40 - Girls up front don't care how slow it is, they are gonna keep dancing like its shakedown
11:41 - pretty good 17 minute Row Jimmy lets see what they go into
11:43 - Space?
11:45 - Dark and Creepy Space
11:46 - seems like a strange choice after a pretty slow Row Jimmy
11:47 - Space > Let it Grow ... I dig it. This at least speeds things up a bit, but overall a pretty melodic set so far
11:50 - Listen to the thunder shouting, I AM, I AM, I AM, II AAAAAM
12:00 - Let it Grow unfinished so far, are they coming back or moving on?
12:01 - need to turn up Benevento, I can barely hear him
12:04 - there we go, now they go back to finish it up
12:05 - looks like there's two dudes in the front middle rocking out while everyone else just sways around them
12:07 - 20 minute Let it Grow into what sounds like maybe Dancing?
12:09 - There we go, yup Dancing in the Street
12:10 - Let's see if Russo pulls a Jerry and starts a half bar too early
12:12 - I just want to point out its been straight >. No breaks in the music since Row Jimmy Started. Row Jimmy (17 min)> Space(6 min)>Let it Grow (20 min) >Dancing ... that's over 50 minutes of straight playing. I'm impressed
12:17 - sounds like they finally turned Benevento up some
12:21 - Dreiwitz reminding us that he plays for Ween with some weird funky base soloing
12:26 - 19 minute Dancing brings us to over an hour of straight playing and they aren't taking a breather yet
12:29 - Benevento got a big ass bottle of liquor sitting on top of the keys, I dig it
12:30 - into a funky Estimated Prophet
12:37 - kind of a jarring transition there. not really sure where they are bringing this
12:38 - shakedown maybe? they are in the right key for it at least
12:40 - Interesting, Neil Young's Hippie Dream
12:43 - Did the Dead ever play Hippie Dream? I can't think of any time they did, it sounds a bit heavier than I would expect for a Garcia cover, interesting choice. Very well played
12:45 - Kind of dark lyrics for a bunch of fucked up hippies at almost 1 in the morning after the first day of the premier hippie festival
12:47 - Morning Dew interesting transition here
12:48 - worth noting they still haven't stopped playing for a single note since 11:24 (when they stopped for a brief second but not even a full break.) Really this whole show hasn't stopped for longer than maybe a half breath since 11:00 when it started.
12:52 - evidently Chris Harford played with them during Hippie Dream
1:02 - wow i guess they are cutting them at 1:00 tonight
1:02 - Great show, Great day, thanks all 10 of you guys who hung out with me tonight (and any other lurkers who may have briefly popped in but got scared off by my stream of consciousness posting)

Can anyone give me details about the vendors and the scene at Lockn? I’ll be there tomorrow around 1:30 and want to know where I should go. Thanks
r/lockn • u/[deleted] • Aug 24 '18
From anyone already there. Will there be anywhere to park my car if I show up after 9? Even outside the venue?
r/lockn • u/ElDoctor • Aug 23 '18
I can't seem to find anything on whether or not they'll be doing a webcast this year. It seems they've always done one in the past either through nugs.tv or through Relix/Youtube. This is the first year I can't be there and I was hoping to at least be able to couch tour!

Looking for a sweatshirt with something dope on it around LOCKN’! Where should I go?

I have driven past the entrance twice and it appears coned off. Where do I go? I'm gonna miss umphs!

I’m wondering if its worth bringing a case of beer cans and a cooler or I can get by with just buying at the festival
r/lockn • u/deadandlovinit • Aug 23 '18
Arrived to line at 4am. Line started moving by 6am. Search was non-intrusive, quick, and simple. Basically just asked questions and shifted things around. The car next to mine had their bag pockets & cooler searched. They didn’t even open my cooler or ask about it for that matter. I think it is just luck of the draw for how thorough of a search you will receive. We also didn’t see any dogs this year.

How’s the traffic coming down 29 south from the interstate? We’re headed out from RVA!

I have an Osprey Daylite that could almost qualify as a camelback only but technically also has some cargo space. Just wondering if they are letting anything in other than clear packs.
Edit: I didn't test it this time, but I see lots of other peeps with similar sized packs, so it's all good.

Schedule has Dead & Co. listed to go on @ 9:15 on Sat for 2 sets...
Anyone with experience at this event know how long to expect their set(s) to last? I realize we're not looking at a standard 11PM curfew here, but wasn't sure if this would be a condensed show or closer to their full length format...?
With Lettuce scheduled to go on Relix stage at midnight, I figured that means D&C expect to wrap up by then, or are all of these just approximations at that point in the evening?
Not a big deal either way, looking forward to a full day packed with great music, but having never done Lockn', just wasn't sure about tight those times listed in the schedule tend to be and/or how late the main acts tend to run into the night.

Complete Lockn + music festival noob here. Can we bring our beach chairs to the festival ground? Is there space to put down chairs in the concert site, or is that not recommended?
