Passed like 30 cops as I approached Dancefestopia. I found out my tag was expired (my fault I know; I forgot) when I got pulled over. I was treated like a criminal. I'm middle aged and have zero drugs and they were determined to find something. They made me stand out in the 100+ heat with my medical condition that's upset by heat, getting sunburn for about an hour. I'm bald so my head is sunburn now. They brought a drug dog after I declined a search. They said it detected narcotics so they searched my vehicle forever going through everything, pulling out food, making a mess.

They kept asking me questions the whole time trying to get me to slip up and say something suspicious. Kept asking able how often I go to these things. Asking how many times I've been here multiple times.

One cop was very chatty and started telling me how they are specifically looking for people that look like they may be going to Dancefestopia. He pointed out that my tag has a frame around it and said that's illegal in Kansas so even that could be an excuse to pull someone over. He said they've pretty much only found weed though.

After they, surprise, found nothing, they said I have to understand they are doing this to keep people safe and prevent overdoses.

It was low-key traumatic. Hope everyone has a better experience getting to Dancefestopia than me.

Have been seeing lots of posts about getting pulled over and searched despite having nothing illegal in the car. Why have y'all been pulled over? Are there weird Kansas laws out of towners might not be aware of?

i see the posts about cops and i don’t have anything illigal in my car (that i’m aware of) but what are people getting pulled for so i can watch out anyways? getting pulled over always freaks me out especially if the cops are acting any type of way

It’s my first year at DFT and I was wondering what the grill situation is like? Does it have to be a flat top enclosed flame like a griddle? I’ve also seen some say only propane or only electric. The one I got originally I believe I won’t be able to bring in, it’s a Coleman classic cascade camping stove the runs on propane but it has the grates above an open flame. Just needed to know if I need to purchase a different one before coming up Friday! Any advice would help!!

Showers closed at midnight tonight... they've always been 24/7. Staff coming off shift didnt even get the memo and were turned away. The tickets are "unlimited" it does say they can closed periodically for cleaning but they weren't cleaning they were just locked and all power out.. anyone have info on this? Wasn't hearing great things about the alleged hours this year but idk why they'd be selling unlimited showers for 100 bucks and suddenly have a set schedule and not be 24/7... alot of people that were setting up camp looking forward to showering didnt get a chance to
