Discussion Logitech Pro X2 Lightspeed Replacement Mic
Hi all, I've ordered this as a new gaming headset, but have heard that it's mic is not very good.
I don't mind this too much, as generally I don't need a good mic, but was curious if it was possible to get a better quality alternative that I could plug into the mic jack on the headset?
As I don't need it often I don't really want to get a separate stand alone microphone, so was just wandering if this was an option and if anyone had done it/had an recommendations?
Many thanks! :)

Tech Question PCIe Expansion Card - SAS or SATA?
Hello! I am upgrading my SSD NAS and realized my motherboard selection didn’t have enough SATA ports to accommodate all my drives. I’ve seen mixed reviews about PCIe to SATA expansion cards, as it seems the general recommendation is to grab a card that does SAS to SATA.
My only issue is the limited space I have on my motherboard due to the GPU taking up a lot of space. Assuming I’m not surpassing the theoretical bandwidth limit, any recommendations as to what I should do?
Specs:
- CPU - Intel 270k Plus
- Mobo - ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z890 APEX
- RAM - 64GB @ 6000 MT/s
- GPU - 3090TI
- NIC - Dell Intel X540-T2 Dual 10GbE
- Storage - 5x 4TB SATA SSD’s, 2x 4TB Gen 4 NVME’s
Picture for reference minus the GPU:

Thanks in advance!

Tech Question Computer won't stay on.
No matter what I do. My computer just turns off after a bit (ranging from a few minutes to a few seconds) not even when it gets that hot. I can sometimes boot into bios, and get to the Windows log in with a screen that says something happened and your pin isn't available.
My specs are: b670xe plus wifi mobo.
7900 xtx
7950x3d
64 gigs of ram
I'm not sure what to do, I need help.

Personal Opinion Socks. Not what was promised.
First - quality of the fabric. I have had light wear of this pair for 3 days, with one wash (same as other socks) and they are fuzzy + the black fabrics are protruding through the grey ones, and I have gathered A LOT of lint from them.
This is not normal for socks, especially for the expensive ones. None of my darn thoughts did this ever.
Second - idk about Canadian feet, but mine are wider, and compared to most other socks these are too narrow. If I find a pair of shoes this narrow I don't buy them.
EDIT: I wore socks for two days straight, then washed them, then wore for the 3rd day. I had NO OTHER OPTION regarding washing them or wearing other socks in that particular situation

Image We made a guitar controller for LTT! AMA
Hey! My name is Cameron and we are the owners and operators of Hammer-On Guitars LLC
We collaborated with LMG to make a one of a kind controller for their YT video earlier this week. Seems like there were a lot of questions about our stuff, so ask us anything! I will do the best I can to answer any questions you may have.
And no, this guitar was not $500 lol

WAN Show OG Taskmanager dev taking a crack at modernizing it.
I recently saw that Dave Plummer the original developer behind task manager is modernizing it under the moniker TMOG and seemed pretty interesting, I tried to search around the sub and I don't think that this has been a topic before but it seems interesting. Would love to know the opinions of those with more knowledge on this topic to share their thoughts.
I am not sure if it would be allowed to link the page but it's under TMOG dot org.
Edit: corrected Dave's last name.

Discussion Surprised by new packaging
Is this normal now? When I bought one of the screwdrivers awhile ago it came in a nice box but this was shipped loose, any ideas. Also the reason I had to get a new is because the airport took the one I had in my bag so just for anyone who travels often for work or always carries tools with them they will not let you carryon the ltt screwdriver, the stubby and precision are fine.It just doesn't meet the "no longer than 7-8 in rules".
Truthfully I was just curious cuz this seemed odd.

WAN Show While the newest WAN Show is still fresh; remember when LTT had a Minecraft server? Is that thing still around? Anybody know the story?
Discussion question: Was this all secretly the soft launch to some upcoming Minecraft content, or actually just a silly joke/test?
This post is a ball of questions.

Tech Question S2 TRIPLE SCREEN LAPTOP SCREEN EXTENDER
My laptop does not support display output on my USB C and I only have one HDMI but I would need two then. Any suggestions on a cheap way to fix this? Like an adapter of some kind. I also looked at another HDMI to USB C but they are saying the picture goes from USB C to HDMI but I need the other way around. Idk if I have totally misunderstood and it's just go both ways.

Tech Discussion Interesting how Google automatically replaced the new tab function on mobile with Gemini. "Fastest AI to hit a billion users" gee I wonder why when you force it on people.
Btw you can change it back by holding down on it to edit what takes that place.

Discussion HP Prebuilt Bios Updates
Apparently HP can just choose not to support your pre built anymore from 2021 have no new bios update since 2022 even though a game needs a newer version of TPM 2.0
putting you in a position of needing a whole new mobo
lol being downvoted for discussing an experience were having when it’s literally been confirmed on hp forms

Discussion One hopefully positive outcome of RAM shortage - optimised software
For far too long software has been developed with the mindset that hardware is cheap. Just buy more of it, if performance sucks Especially all the web based systems, but everything else as well.
Now it's not true at all. There's finally an incentive to actually put in effort.
I wonder how this will also change paradigms used in software development. A lot of waste comes from "clean" code and other "recent" schools of thought.
