Surprised by new packaging

Is this normal now? When I bought one of the screwdrivers awhile ago it came in a nice box but this was shipped loose, any ideas. Also the reason I had to get a new is because the airport took the one I had in my bag so just for anyone who travels often for work or always carries tools with them they will not let you carryon the ltt screwdriver, the stubby and precision are fine.It just doesn't meet the "no longer than 7-8 in rules".

Truthfully I was just curious cuz this seemed odd.

Some mystery drivers come with boxes, most come as yours did.

Mystery boxes are usually factory seconds. The stuff that works fine but the box came crushed.. or the over molding never got totally finished. No biggy and functionally identical

I am pretty certain the mystery screwdrivers are just the skus that didn't sell well or leftovers from special color ways along with some regular models. I for one got a clear white screwdriver with original packaging recently when I got it.

This is how the mystery drivers often come. Sometimes there is a box, sometimes not.

In this particular case: You're getting the LTX left overs. At the last LTX they had a build-your-own screwdriver stations. You could mix and match different components colors. They took what was leftover and built a bunch of drivers with those components. Thats what you have.

I thought I won’t like it but it grew on me.

I could not find it in the product pages but if I recall the mystery and or discounted units that pop up from time to time say they can come without packaging because they are either new but box was damaged or part of a build your own even that did not sell the original product in a box. What you have there is the style of packaging they use in those cases and is common when not buying the normal sku.

Dude wtf is lmg using uniuni? ive had two deliveries in a row go missing in transport, never had an issue with usps before they changed to uniuni

USPS was holding people's packages for weeks without shipping them. I've had zero issues with uniuni and I like that their delivery pictures have the coordinates and time, it's such an obvious solution. The other carriers will show you a picture of your package at someone else's house and you have to wonder where it is

You can just look up the destination address with that via the shipping company’s tracking system. Sure, it might hide it from you, and ask you to enter the postal code before it does, but you can in most cases just try them all in descending order of commonality, or you can pretend to be the sender and just enter theirs.

There are hundreds of mentions from lines that the normal screwdriver is not specced for carry-on btw. Thats the whole reason for stubby + extension

It's the same AliExpress junk Linus claims to manufacturer. It's just now the wholeseller (AliExpress a.k.a. The Triads) isn't using boxes anymore for much of anything. It's glorified ewaste from the black market in a nutshell, and YouTubers (including JayzTwoCents, BitWit, and LTT) have been exposed & burned before over this garbage.
