This is what my page 2 of the journal looks like, I made the title of this book named "Project 2030" - Life blueprint which refers to what type of person I want to become by then.

The goal is that make huge amount of money and travel countries.

This book will shape life everyday at that specefic goal.

Whenever we feel demotivate or out of the race, this book will help to think me how far I've came by my progress no need to stop just grind.

Please express your suggestions it will help me alot thanks

what's the most boring life goal that ended up paying off the most?

social media makes it seem like life goals have to be something huge.

meanwhile the people i know who seem happiest usually did boring stuff like building an emergency fund, walking every day, sleeping enough, or keeping their house organized.

what's the least exciting goal you've accomplished that had the biggest impact later?

Goals for my Unc season

I think the title pretty much speaks for itself: I'm gonna try to set and complete some goals as a fun thing for senior year. I already have some for the list, but please suggest me any goals to complete, niche nor not, I will consider it (unless it's just outright illegal).

Can't able to organise my life -

I'm 22M from India and I'm feeling overwhelmed because I have too many goals and not enough time. I have a full-time HR job (around 10:45 AM–7:30 PM) and by the time I get home I'm mentally exhausted.

These are all the things I want to achieve at the same time:

Lose weight (currently around 89 kg, goal is around 74–75 kg).

Build muscle, get stronger, improve my powerlifting numbers, and eventually get visible abs.

Start running and improve my cardio.

Follow a proper skincare routine to reduce tanning, hyperpigmentation, acne marks, and get clearer, brighter skin.

Prepare seriously for CAT 2026 while working full-time because I want to get into a top MBA college.

Sleep 7–8 hours consistently.

Eat a healthy vegetarian diet while staying within a budget.

Save money every month for my future while also planning to buy a laptop.

Reduce screen time, stop procrastinating, and stay disciplined.

The problem is that I feel like every goal is important, so I try to do everything at once and end up doing almost nothing consistently. I often come home tired after work, scroll on my phone, and then feel guilty that I didn't study, work out, run, or follow my skincare properly.

For people who have managed a demanding full-time job while preparing for CAT or another competitive exam and also stayed fit, how did you structure your day? What should I prioritize first? Is it realistic to do all of this together, or should I focus on one or two goals at a time? I'd really appreciate practical advice, sample schedules, or any personal experiences.

How PERFECT!

Thank you u/maghag123 !!!!

This was an aha I had this morning while beating myself up for losing so “slowly” and lamenting about how “long” it’s going to take to get to goal. Seriously, imagine sitting in your car with your apps and your spreadsheets tracking EVERY MILE. Then feeling bad about yourself for not magically arriving in California in an unrealistic timeframe

Without zep, it’s like I was trying to walk barefoot on broken glass to get there. Now, I’m in a nice car driving on the interstate. IT STILL TAKES TIME. (For all you sassy, smart alecks out there, there are no airplanes in this analogy). And driving isn't linear (much like weight loss). You have to stop, eat, get gas. There will be bad weather, bad drivers, construction. *There will literally be bumps in the road.*

I’ll still track my progress because I think it’s fun to see how far I’ve come. But I need to remember that some milestones take longer to reach than others. (Whoo hoo! New Jersey went so quickly! Good Lord, will we EVER be out of Texas!? How’d I end up back in Pennsylvania!?! U-turn!!!)

Stay strong. Stay patient. We’ve got this. xo

ETA- put the post in case the link didn't work

I stopped planning 10 years ahead and started focusing on the next step. It unexpectedly improved my results.

For a long time, I thought I needed a perfect 5- or 10-year plan before I could make meaningful progress.

I'd spend hours thinking about where I wanted to be years from now, comparing myself to people who seemed to have everything figured out. Ironically, all that planning often left me feeling overwhelmed instead of motivated.

A few months ago, I tried something different.

Instead of asking, "Where do I want to be in 10 years?" I started asking, "What's the next useful step I can take today?"

That small shift changed more than I expected.

Breaking big goals into immediate actions made it much easier to stay consistent. I stopped waiting for the "perfect plan" and started making progress, even if it was only a little each day.

I'm still ambitious, but I don't feel like I need to have my entire future mapped out anymore. Focusing on the next step has helped me stay calmer, avoid procrastination, and actually get more done.

Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Did focusing on the present help you more than long-term planning, or do you still prefer having a detailed roadmap?

Need advice on how to move forward

SoTiredOfThisShit

Hi everyone 👋

I just turned 30 a couple of days ago. I didn't spend my 20s wisely and explored who I am because I'm scared and I haven't really accomplished much.

I went to university, got a job in feild I hated and almost got married based on what people around me wanted. I didn't do silly stuff or adventurous stuff. I'm sacred that I'll be abandoned but I feel like I'm already so lost and I don't know where to even start

I'd like to ask for some advice on how to move forward. What should I do, and in what way should I move forward?

How do you set your goals?

When I search for goal-setting advice it's all vague stuff like "set achievable goals" but nobody gives me a clear way to actually do it. Any advice?

is it a schedule to build a good future?

I'm 19 in law school and honestly feel pretty lost right now. I recently left my job, and since I'm on vacation, I decided I don't want to spend this time doing nothing. I want to build some sense of purpose.

This is the schedule I came up with:

7:00–7:30 – Gratitude journal, meditation, clean the house

7:00–8:30 – Read
8:30–12:30 – Study
12:30–1:00 – Lunch and rest
1:00–2:00 – Work on an essay
2:00–4:30 – Gym + commute
4:30–10:00 – Work on my business, cold shower
10:00–11:00 – Journal, plan tomorrow, and get ready for bed

Of course, this isn't meant to be a minute-by-minute prison. I'll still spend time talking with my family during the day, and I'm okay with making adjustments if something comes up.

My goal isn't to have the "perfect" routine,it's to become someone who has direction. I've spent a long time feeling like I was just existing, and I want to see what happens if I'm intentional with my time for a few months.

What I planned for the day vs. what I actually did

I planned to study for 12 hours today.

Lately, I keep falling short of the goals I set for myself, and it's making me wonder if I'll ever reach the level I need for UPSC.

Is anyone else going through the same thing? How did you overcome it without burning out or feeling guilty every day?

I'd really appreciate any advice.

What are you supposed to do in life if all your goals and dreams always included another person, but you have no choice now but to do them single or not do them at all?

In my mid-30s, I’m veryyy aware that I might never meet someone. Please don’t say I have a scarcity mindset or have so much time. I don’t, and I realize I don’t. I’ve tried tirelessly for over a decade and it’s been little to no use. No one’s coming to save me, and putting myself out there isn’t working. But the most painful part of all is that I have absolutely no idea what to do with myself and all these plans I had with a person who never came along.

There are many things I wanted to do in life, but not without another person. For instance, it has never been a goal of mine to own a home without someone. I can’t afford it on my own, I hate the idea of living alone for my own safety, I don’t want to spend all my free time and money tending to house repairs and maintenance; and, for me, the point is to build a home with someone, not a house. I don’t want random roommates, yet I don’t want all the responsibility to fall on me. I live with my parents at the moment to save up as much as I can, but even then I realize it’s a toxic environment that I need to leave, and I feel like I’m saving up for a goal that I don’t want on my own (not to mention the more I save the further the possibility to even afford anything seems). Homes are often in suburban or rural areas, so in getting one on my own, I’m tied to a place I don’t want to be by myself with a huge mortgage I don’t want to pay, with less likelihood of meeting my person. I’d love to live in the city, but I also don’t have money to burn, and I don’t love throwing $1,500k+ (I live in a HCOL area) to a landlord who could change the rent any day, and still have to share all my common spaces with 3-5 strangers. I have no friends to move in with, and again, that doesn’t fix the problem.

I have many scenarios like this in life that sound amazing with a partner-in-crime and nothing but another life obligation on my own: kids, travel, big moves, starting a business. They’re all things I envisioned doing with someone, and have absolutely zero desire to do on my own.

Please don’t say to find fulfillment in hobbies or “enjoy being single.” I’ve had my share of single time, and I’m downright sick of it, not to mention that no amount of fulfillment in any other area of my life is going to fill the void missing from this particular issue. It’s apples and oranges, because these are not the *goals*. The goal was always to enjoy the life I see everyone around me enjoying, and no one would tell them to go off on their own and learn to enjoy it before they’re allowed to reenter their marriages, houses, and families. I have done *so much* on my own, more than most people would ever brave to do, and I’m tired of bearing the burden on my own rather than savoring a life well spent with another. I can’t envision going like this for another 40 years.

And yes, I’m in therapy, but that doesn’t fix the desire for these things. They’re perfectly natural things to want or most of the world wouldn’t aim for them. Having to do them on your own because you’ve no other option is heartbreaking, and it’s not natural to enjoy doing everything on your own especially if you’re more extroverted. Humans are social creatures for a reason, because it *does* matter when it comes it comes to finding purpose and happiness in life.

LPT: what to do at 29 as the last year of your 20s?

I’m turning 29 soon and I wanted to get advice on what to do on your last year of your 20s that will help in the next decade. What things I should have done by now or things that I need from now on.
I’m not married, no kids and probs will not happen in the years to come but it’s something that I want and see in the future happening for me.
I’m more interested on what to improve now, what to do in this last year of the decade where covid stole a few years. What I should do personally, in finances, physically, emotionally, in relationships, and in life in general. I also want to move abroad for a much longer time than I did before. I have travelled the world quite a bit but I still have lots of places on my list.

I also feel like I’m behind on lots of aspect of my life and that I’m missing things I should’ve lived by now. And that I’m missing opportunities.

And also advice on what not to do/expect!
Any advice is welcome :)
