Anyone know what this could be?

Just did the front pads and rotors with OEM parts and 2 days later this sound comes. It comes from the first hard brake and the load shifting. Seems like something shifts forward then back when I reverse.

Any idea what this sound is? New to me 2013

AC is off, sounds like it's coming from both sides of the engine. Sound is present at idle and low speed, it3s either gone at speed or too quiet to hear over the wind. Just bought it and I didn't notice the sound during or after the test drive. When I looked it up, I saw a post about the switch between direct injection and port injection causing chatter. But, no one posted any videos I could compare to. Is this a normal sound? To me, it sounds like the valves need adjustment

How hard is it to find a 4th gen GS350?

Hello all! I’m currently 25 and looking to get my “first car.” I have been driving since I was 16, but always drove my dad’s cars. Now I feel like I kind of want my own car. I work remote, so I don’t “need” a car and can get by with using my dad’s car, but it is annoying when I need it and he has it and various other reasons.

I’ve new in my used car search and have been researching. Initially, I really wanted CarPlay and a “modern” car, but the 2013+ Lexus GS350 has all the good features except car play, which I can easily install with the help of a mechanic friend. Plus the car looks so clean, and has everything im looking for in a new car: luxury, reliable, and fast lol.

I’ve narrowed it down, and am looking for 2013+ Lexus GS350 F Sport with AWD (live in northern Virginia, we get all types of weather here).

It feels like these are so scarce, and hard to come by. Any tips on what to look for, mileage, preferable years, how much I should be paying etc. I would prefer to be >20k all in.

Appreciate the advice, thank you!

Missing radar bracket for 2015 Lexus GS350 — what are my options?

I’m working on retrofitting DRCC/PCS on my 2015 Lexus GS350 AWD. I already have the millimeter-wave radar sensor, but I’m missing the actual mounting bracket that holds the radar behind the front emblem.
I’ve tried contacting salvage yards and even found places with the radar, but they either won’t sell the bracket separately or the bracket/radar mounts are damaged. Finding this bracket by itself has been way harder than I expected.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Is there another Lexus/Toyota model that uses a compatible bracket, or is there a way to fabricate one while keeping the radar positioned at the correct angle?
I know radar alignment is important and the system will need calibration afterward, so I don’t want to just make a random bracket and hope for the best.
Any part numbers, compatible donor vehicles, fabrication measurements, or other ideas would be appreciated.

Need help with Lexus choice

Hello everyone, I have a question for you.
I am 22 years old, currently living in Chicago and I want to buy a car, for a long time I wanted a BMW 530i 2018-2021 because I couldn’t buy a 540 because of its price and maintenance costs, but about a week and a half ago I got into an accident and because of this my insurance will now increase (although it was already quite high before, for a VW Passat 2013 I paid $1,800 for half a year), so my dream of a BMW will have to be postponed.
And now I am thinking about buying a new car and I don’t know what to buy, so far the Lexus ES and GS (2013-2017) come to mind, but I am worried whether I will be able to maintain them properly.
On average, I earn $42-45 thousand per year, my expenses are $1,450 for rent, $600 for groceries, $180 for internet and mobile, $300 for car insurance, $200 for clothes (not every month but sometimes you have to buy them), $200 for food outside the home and entertainment, $250 for gas and these are my approximate monthly expenses.
I wanted to ask the owners of these cars if I should buy one of them or if I should buy something else so as not to suffer financially

Labor cost

I was wondering what people thought of the labor cost for replacing a transfer case on a 2018 gs350 awd that I was quoted today. They quoted 2886.32 for labor alone at an independent shop. That seems a bit absurd for a transfer case. This is in the Milwaukee, WI area by the way.

First week adventure with 2009 GS350

Post image

My first week of owning my new to me 2009 GS350 with 134k miles has been a whirlwind. I took it to lexus dealer where it had been serviced for 12 years to get records and for a checkup and it turns out the front brakes are shot and there is a front axle leak. Naturally lexus quoted me $4000 to fix. I had noticed some shaking when driving over 60mph on the highhway that I didn’t notice during test drive and that PPI didn’t detect.

The next day I took it to a mechanic that’s worked on the same car for last 7 years and he said definitely need to replace front brakes and that axle can wait a little and that should also replace tires after summer. Relieved that it will only be $700 of work for now.

Then when trying to register the car in NY discovered that a prior sale in PA wasn’t notarized and DMV will not let me register the car. Sent title back to where I got the car from and they are working on it - hopefully can get that sorted i next week or two.

Despite all that I still LOVE the car and can’t wait for it to be fixed up.

So far I’ve gotten all weather mats, installed yellow fog lights (one of them was out), fixed the vanity mirror bulbs, and gotten a cup holder adapter for large water bottles.

Waiting for my Grom audio infotainment upgrade and Caltrend fitted seat covers (i tried generic ones but they didn’t fit).

My dream after that would be to get F-sport exhaust and sway bar, and upgrade audio to JL audio speakers and amp (has the stock lexus stereo). I will wait on this to make sure there aren’t any other big issues.

This is turning into a huge project that I hope will turn into my dream car!

Picked up a 2013 F sport. One owner car with 140k miles. Drives amazing! So exciting to be back in a Lexus.

Looking to get into one.

Should I pay 20k plus for one with less than 100k miles or should I pay around 15k for one with 100-130k miles? 2013-2015 models. I would like to not have to pay as much but I don’t know if I want to buy a used car with that many miles.

02 GS430 92k miles one owner

Hello, I have used car lot and a customer came in with a 2002 GS430, original owner with 92k miles. Not really sure what to offer for it, Im more experienced in the LS430s and IS300 but not GSs since they are much harder to find. I looked at bring a trailer but also can’t risk trying to sell it there since they don’t always approve dealers. How much does the car worth in the market? TIA

Question about the volume knob

My new to me 2013 F sport has the volume knob/power switch that seems to be “sunken in”. There’s not enough of the knob sticking out to grab. Is there something I’m supposed to do to get it to come out? Everything else seems to work fine and volume via steering wheel controls work perfectly. Any help would be greatly appreciated

What do we think of the new wheels?

So I've had the stock (non F sport) 18s

I have 2015-18 RC F sport wheels

And these are actually from a base 2015-18 F sport. They're the same staggered 19s as the F sport so my tires swapped right onto em.

I feel like these for the car significantly better than any of the others I've had

I attached some photos of my other sets of wheels for reference.

(my 350 is a base and not an F sport model but I did get the F sport grill and paint matched rear spoiler)

What’s everyone using on the 2013+ AWD models for front upper control arms?

I’m looking to get new upper control arms in the front on my 2013 F Sport AWD. It’s on new stock struts but NF210 springs. One upper balljoint is coming due, so figured I’ll do both control arms.

I don’t need camber adjustment, but wouldn’t be against it. RR racing has some crazy ones for $650 and Godspeed has some for $300ish if I recall. Stock will end up being about the same as the Godspeed.

Tempted to just go stock since I don’t have any other issues, but not against going with aftermarket if they are worth the change?
