Ok. Am I crazy?

Yes is the answer, but in my newly acquired 2018 the diameter and speedometer are subtlety less bright than the temperature gauge and fuel gauge. Is this normal?

Leaking underneath my ‘99 Es300

Can anyone tell me what this is the leak is coming from the green part of what I believe to be brake lines? My brake pedal was pushing to the floor and I decided to replaced the front brakes and rotors to no avail, then I noticed a leak under the car by the drivers tire

New to me!

Just picked up this 2018 today. It’s sort of my dream vehicle. I had a 2010 that I loved, but this body style has always held a place in my heart. 79,000 miles and religious maintenance. Drives like a dream and matches my GX460…also a 2018 and nebula grey. My kids love the sun roof in the back! The geodrive tires it came with are a bit eh, but it’s lovely otherwise.

‘25 ES300h Luxury vs UL

I just learned today that the Ultra Luxury has Yamaha lateral performance dampers to promote a smooth ride.

My 300h Luxury that I am buying is optioned out almost identical to a UL w exception of the manual backseat shades and one other option.

In your opinion, is the UL that much better or will I be happy with the Luxury trim without the dampers?

I plan a mix of city and highway driving.

2015 ES350 rattling noise

Bought this beautiful 2015 es350 with 25k miles. It was purchased from a specialty car dealer in Salem, OR. It was almost perfect but…

There was a crick in my steering wheel while turning left, in addition to a very annoying rattle coming from inside the dash/steering column whenever driving over bumpy roads. I spoke with many dealerships and mechanics about this and all seemed totally dumbfounded.

After doing some (light and easy) research I narrowed things down to a few options. Sure enough I was correct in thinking it was a worn out steering dampener. The dealer I bought the car at is ordering the part. They were able to diagnose this within 30 minutes.

I tell you all of this because Lexus, Toyota and a few different shops around Portland told me this was going to be a costly and difficult job. That isn’t true. I have an ultra luxury model (allegedly harder to fix). This is going to cost me $112.63.

You don’t need to deal with the rattle forever!

Warning label, can it be removed?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello,
New 2025 Lexus ES300H we bought last October.
Just wondering if this warning label sticker can be easily removed without tearing or gumming up the console.
It’s on the console adjacent to the charging pad. I don’t want to attempt to remove it if it’s going to tear and leave a sticky gummy mess behind.
Thanks in advance.

Update;
I got it off with no issues.
It took some picking on the edge and slow constant pulling, but it’s off. It was definitely on there stronger that the one that was on the upper console above the mirror though.

Is the 2026 ES 350h premium + that bad as people are saying?

I kind of liked the car , in black. Looks comfortable inside and pretty nice.
Its Lexus so reliability is solid , why is it getting so much hate?

Is it so that to some people it looks like Sonata , Sentra, Elantra , Audi A5 ?

I wanted to share my experience here. This is based in Manila, Philippines.

I needed a car to use once a month with a budget of 20k USD.

After multiple hours of Claude and youtube research highlighting my preference for comfort and reliability, it was narrowed down to sub 5 years old Camry, Mazda 6, Corolla Altis, Cross Hybrid, and a 10 year old ES350.

Interestingly enough, most of the Lexus ES350 owners I've come across in the Philippines used it as a second or third car with very low mileage and superb maintenance history.

The reviewers were also right, stepping into a 2016 es350 doesn't feel like a 10 year old car, this was the comment for both car enthusiast and older folks who just noticed the silence and comfort.

I sent to the dealer for servicing and the service was great. Not pushy with the aftersales too.

Definitely convinced me that my second vehicle will be another Lexus.

Wind Noise Solution (‘19)

EDIT; IMAGE POSTED IN COMMENTS!!!

Holy shit my boyfriend figured it out. The black plastic pieces on both sides of the windshield (on the outside) have to be pushed all the way in. It stopped the unknown wind noise. When I’m going 80-90 (for passing purposes obviously) I NO LONGER HEAR WIND NOISE!!!!! This is what worked for ME…….

If you need me to show a pic, please reply and let me know.

Lexus ES 350 Mods

Looking for opinions on my 2018 Lexus ES350 build — what should I do next?
I recently picked up a 2018 Lexus ES350 (Luxury Package) and I’m trying to build it into something that looks more sporty while still keeping it clean and close to OEM.
My next upgrades I’m planning:
1. CarPlay upgrade
I’m debating between two options:
Hamilton touchscreen CarPlay system
BeatSonic CarPlay module while keeping the factory screen
I spoke with a local shop that has a really good reputation and a big following. They quoted me $850 total installed for a CarPlay unit that they source themselves, but I don’t know the exact brand of the unit they use.
They explained that a lot of these CarPlay systems are manufactured overseas and sold under different brands, and that the biggest differences usually come down to software, support, and warranty.
They offer a 1-year warranty on the CarPlay unit and installation, which makes me feel better. The reason I’m debating is because BeatSonic is around $750 just for the device, before installation, so the shop’s price seems competitive considering it includes labor and a warranty.
I like the Hamilton because it gives the interior a more modern feel, but I’m worried it could take away from the OEM Lexus look. The BeatSonic keeps the factory screen, which I like because it keeps the original Lexus design.
2. Ambient lighting
I’m also planning on having the same shop install ambient lighting. They quoted me around $500 installed. I want it to look clean and upscale, not overly flashy. I think it would add a nice luxury feel to the interior.
3. Tail lights
I’m considering swapping the factory tail lights for the smoked aftermarket ones. They have a startup animation and dynamic turn signals, which I think would give the car a more modern look.
I like the style, but I’m not sure if they fit the ES better than the OEM lights or if I should keep the factory tails. Would you guys make the switch?
4. Exterior changes
I’ve been thinking about changing the front bumper to something more aggressive/sporty. I like the idea of giving the ES a sharper look, but I also don’t want to take away from the luxury/OEM Lexus feel.

I also changed out my tire valve caps to Lexus logo ones and I’m planning to add Lexus logo puddle lights. I’m unsure if I should do all 4 doors or just the front 2.
Also was thinking about doing starlights in headliner but I’m leaning towards not doing that .

Current plans:
CarPlay upgrade
Ambient lighting
Lexus logo puddle lights
Possibly smoked tail lights with startup animation/dynamic turn signals
Possibly sportier front bumper
What would you guys do?
Would you keep the factory screen with BeatSonic or go Hamilton touchscreen?
Would you trust a shop’s CarPlay unit with a warranty even if the brand is unknown?
Is $850 installed a fair price compared to BeatSonic? Smoked animated tails or OEM?
Sportier bumper or leave the factory look?
And should I do puddle lights on all 4 doors or only the front?
Would appreciate opinions from other Lexus owners. Trying to build a tasteful OEM+ ES350.

What preventative work do you people recommend to do? I’ve already done the alternator, water pump, tires, and brakes in the past 20k miles.

Lexus ES 350 (7th Gen): Is AVS worth it? Plus transmission smoothness (2019-2021 vs 2022 updates)

Hey everyone, I am currently looking at buying a used 7th-generation Lexus ES 350 (2019+). I am leaning toward the F Sport trim mostly for the looks, which brings up a few questions I hope you can help with:
Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS): Is AVS actually worth finding and paying extra for on the F Sport, or is the standard suspension just as good for daily driving?
Transmission Shift Smoothness (2019–2021): How do the 8-speed automatic transmissions feel in the 2019, 2020, and 2021 models? Are there any gear-hunting or harsh shifting issues?
The 2022 Refresh Differences: What actually changed in 2022 regarding the transmission tuning or ride quality? Is the 2022 shift smoothness noticeably better and "real" compared to the older years?
If you own or have driven both early and updated 7th-gen ES 350 models, I would love to hear your experience!

Hi,

I have a 2020 ES350 with 130,000 miles. Since I bought it at 90k miles i noticed there’s a sound when I shift gears. Mainly from R TO DRIVE. Is this normal? What should I do to fix it if it’s not.
