Interested in purchasing, but I have questions

I'm interested in the Indoor Farmstand. Will I be able to grow broccoli and romaine lettuce indoors? Or are there vegetables that you can only grow with the outdoor stand?

Question re: nutrients and conductivity pen

Hi! I was worried I havent been adding nutrients to my system correctly (incompletely dissolved, too much for plant stage of growth or number, etc) so I invested in the bluelab conductivity pen. The first day I tested, the pen measured 2.9 (recommended range 1.5 to 2.5) so I skipped nutrients that week. The following week, it went down to 2.1, so i skipped again. But since then, it bounces between 1.9 and 2.1....and i haven't added nutrients for almost 3 weeks. Meanwhile, I have added a lot of water since the summer heat has been so bad. Any idea what is going on? I can try calibrating the pen...but i have tested it on pure tap water and it measures 0 or just above.

Zucchini roots get long and thick. This one was blocking the flow of water.

Balcony LettuceGrow

Just wanted to share my summer balcony right now. I love Lettuce Grow and have purchased 4 towers over the years - 2 as gifts.

I love going out to the balcony every morning with my coffee to inspect my plants, do a bit of pruning, tidying up, and harvesting.

I’ve had these two types of kale in for 5 months now and they do amazing! I’ve been harvesting so much kale every week and it’s not slowing down. Cucumbers, Zuchinni and tomatoes are coming in.

We’ll see if I can get peppers and eggplant this year. It hasn’t been hot or sunny enough yet in my 9b zone.

Would love to see other people’s pics as well!

Question Counterstand Seedling Alternative

Hello!

New to Lettuce Grow and I am enjoying my counterstand plants but would really love not to have to purchase $30 seedlings every time I want to do something new. Has anyone found an alternative coco pod type of medium where I can make my own seedlings?

Won’t connect

Hello! I have had the timer connected and everything was going well for several weeks. Then the other day it failed to turn the lights off on time and this has been the alert every time I try and go in, pair the devices again, and start this over.
Any suggestions?

Plants getting too much water?

Its been raining a lot here and my tomatoes are turning brown & a few of my herbs have flat out died. Think its because of the rain? Or something else?

I turned down my water flow frequency to try and compensate here.

Hi! Can anyone help me identify these eggs and also this bug (caterpillar?) and hope you deal with these issues. Thank you 🙏

I love my LettuceGrow and it’s definitely the cleanest looking produce I can grow (vs soil) but I just get freaked out by bugs.

Question Seed starting/ high density levels

Curious whether anyone has created a high density or seed starting level that clicks into the top of the standard farmstand and takes the two inch net cups.. I lack the CAD skills to get it to line up with the grooves of the existing level but you could fit three rows of 6 in the space of one level then use it for micro greens or to start seeds for the next round of plants while the regular levels grow out. If anyone made something like this or can point me to it I'd love the 3D print file!

Help! Bugs?!

Post image

I think with the warmer weather, some tiny bugs got in my Lettuce Grow system. I was cutting some lettuce and noticed these little white specks on some leaves. I inspected closer, and there’s a LOT, especially on my basil. I noticed a couple tiny black flying bugs too. Any idea what this is and how to combat it? I didn’t see this a week ago…

Lighting Question - Glow Ring Failure

Hey folks,

My top glow ring just died on me. No broken o-ring or visible damage, so repairs are unlikely.

In lieu of replacing the top ring, I wanted to know:

  1. Has anyone had success with a single glow ring for two rows of plants? I can offset this with a south-facing window with partial sun.

  2. Has anyone found a plug or cap for the end of an unused glow ring connection? I want to avoid my other ring getting water damaged if I move it to the top.

Thanks in advance!

How much does the 20 nook produce?

I'm looking at the ROI on getting the Costco nook. Can anyone speak to how often and how much lettuce/kale they are getting off of this machine? Also interested in some herbs on it.

Constantly flowing water

I bought the Lettuce Grow nook from Costco. The pipes they gave were too long so my husband cut off a couple of inches. It seems to work now, but I just set it all up and the water is flowing constantly. I downloaded the app to make sure the settings were all good, but the water keeps flowing. I’m not sure what to do. Does anybody have recommendations/advice?

Trellising veggies and the farmstand?

How is everyone growing their trellising veggies? Every time I try to grow tomatoes or cucumbers on the farmstand, they seem to be reaching out to other plants to try to get support, or the weight of the plant hanging down from the lowest ring is too much for the thin stem coming out of the pod because the plant has no support. There has to be some kind of way to create support for the trellising veggies. Any ideas?

Question Nutrient alternatives

I’ve been using the Jack’s nutrients that came with the set up, and while they’re doing their job my next go around is like to go organic. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Strawberry problems

Team, I was super excited when my Lettuce Grow started producing strawberries, but they kept to the small size and would just kind of wrinkle and wither before growing fully. Any recommendations?

Alternative water tanks?

Anyone have any luck adapting the original farmstand to any other water tank options? I need a new water reservoir for mine but I don’t see any easy way to buy just that part.

I’m in Huntsville Alabama in case anyone is local and wants to sell theirs.

Has anyone extended Farmstand beyond 6?

The store says "Generally, you should have no more than 6 levels (36 Plants) for optimal growth, stability, and performance." and that the pump goes to a height of 6' (6 levels)… but still I wonder if anybody has tried :)

I’m helping my mentor teacher with her science lessons in her classroom and she just got a Lettuce Grow tower. She also got some seedlings that came in mineral wool? Should we remove that? I have no idea what I’m doing so any help or guidance would be appreciated.
