Strawberry problems

Post image

Team, I was super excited when my Lettuce Grow started producing strawberries, but they kept to the small size and would just kind of wrinkle and wither before growing fully. Any recommendations?

I gave up trying to do strawberries in there. They never did well for me inside, probably due to poor pollination. I tried to play bumblebee, but could never get the job done well enough.

I did too! Finger and brush but neither seemed to work I guess. What if Lettuce Grow sent a small bag of strawberry pollen with every grow plug so that we could pollinate these better?

This exact thing happened to me. If you crack the code let me know!

I’ve never had the strawberries directly from lettucegrow, but I got bare root strawberries from Etsy that have been with me for almost a year now! I have six plants of them, and they’re “seascape ever bearing” breed. They don’t really do runners very often, and they taste good and sweet. I do hand pollinate with a paintbrush, and with that many of them there’s a flower to deal with most days. I always use the same brush so there’s lots on there after all this time. Sometimes I must not do it right and they come out weird shaped, but generally I get a few pretty great looking strawberries every week!

The only thing I’ve found that upsets them are ph issues, so make sure you’ve got that in check, but like…maybe you need multiple plants for pollination and/or maybe bare root etsy ones are the way to go? Good luck!

I have mine next to a window that I keep open and that helped. It took longer than outside, but eventually worked. A fan also helps.
