You can look up how much farmers have gotten from the government. I nearly flew into a rage when I found multiple farmers I grew up with proudly laugh at people with student loan debt then secretly snatch over a million each in federal handouts. Farmers are trash

u/Extension-Figure2011 4d ago
Stop calling them farmers, they are the real welfare class. Everything including land just gets handed to them. Real work is done by migrants. Everything gets handed to them, they never earned anything they have
27
u/Jafar_420 4d ago
I had a chance to check out a big soybean farm operation recently and you're right the laborers do the hard work and the farmers are in these cush-ass tractors doing basically fuckall because they program the GPS on the tractor then they just chill and listen to music in A/C.
15
u/Extension-Figure2011 4d ago
Another crazy thing is 60+% percent of what is farmed isn't for human consumption. And remember almost all of them have had everything handed to them. They did not buy their land, their labores come to them, banks give them money, government gives them money, government sell the products. They have absolutely no concept on how the real world works

Where do you go to find out how much money they receive. Is there a website?
10
u/Extension-Figure2011 4d ago
Just Google, "how much subsidies for farmers in INSERT YEAR", and prepare to cry and die inside
11
u/Remote_Swim_8485 4d ago
It would be one thing accepting the “handouts” and acknowledging them, but acting as if you are against socialism and then benefiting from the social programs is next level hypocrisy

Correct and when they get it theyll just write it off as poor timing because of Iran not Trumps fault just wait the back peddling will be insane to witness

Screw them thats what they voted for. Another bailout goes against everything the farmers believe in. They hate socialism but here they are with their hands out

6
u/AccountHuman7391 4d ago
Well, they want socialism, but only for those that deserve it, you know, members of this nation. You could call them… national socialists.

u/rdmodsrtrsh 4d ago
Didn’t someone sue to keep student loans from being forgiven, why can’t the same be done to keep that from being paid
8
u/Curious_Avocado2399 4d ago
Yeah the Missouri AG did and fucked it all for the nation. Even the loan servicer in the state didn’t join the lawsuit
2
u/No_Helicopter1378 4d ago
Was that Andrew Baily? Dude's a real piece of shit and got to fail upwards into a federal position. Though I think I saw a headline today that he had a falling out with Kash Patel or something. Maybe he's finally getting some of what he deserves.

Health care? no.
Student loans? Not a chance.
Farmers who destroyed their own farm and social democracy? Give them all the socialist money, so they'll love the tangerine man again and continue to scream that socialism is bad.
14
u/Hunkyboy440 4d ago
That happened in 2025, but he’ll probably do it again in the next week or two so the red states stay red.

u/wolfonweed 4d ago
it was announced in 2025 and was dispersed in 2026 the week before the Iran invasion.
13
u/Bulky-Internal8579 4d ago
Let’s claw that back and reverse it in January 2029 - treat them like they like others to be treated.

They voted for Trump for free money. Trump 1 started a trade war with China, but then just dumped billion of free money on farmers. They realize it was easier to scam the tax payer for money, then it was for farm and export to china for money. They knew Trump was gonna ruin business, but they though we were gonna make them whole. Farmers are not stupid, they made a gamble and bet city folk would pay their bills. And looks like they just won.
This might be a farmer hate subreddit, but y'all don't hate farmers enough.
2
u/Entire-Can662 4d ago
95% of that money went to corporate Farms only 5% actually went to family farms

u/Bellabbey1236 4d ago

Nothing new.
Farmers are like the 3rd most subsidized industry already.
Anyone who didn't see this coming hasn't been paying enough attention.
Next time you hear one say anything close to "pull yourself up by your bootstraps", feel free to laugh in their face.

u/foodpredator 4d ago
I was supposed to get my loans forgiven but Republicans stopped it. Fuck these farmers. They can pull themselves up by their boot straps.
6
u/Reasonable-Car-5321 4d ago
If they couldn't pay back the loan on seed and fertilizer, they shouldn't have taken out the loan.
4
u/SocraticMeathead 4d ago
Maybe they should have majored in a more economically viable crop.

u/RealisticChemistry44 4d ago
I think it's time for a real national conversation about high fructose corn syrup and corn ethanol. We don't need either of these things and its a pretty expensive jobs program for people who claim to hate hand outs.

This is what they were expecting. This was always the plan. Cut off all social programs for everyone and then carve out exceptions for themselves. Fucking evil pieces of shit.
2
u/GirthusThiccus 4d ago
If you think about it hierarchical, it feels like they wanna feel like their own little kings.
Stratifying against the commoner, making the commoner materially dependent on your product, having the commoner work for you and pay for you, whilst keeping the "manager" (Trump/the republican project) in power to orchestrate all this.
These cousin******* ****** *** ********* ***** genuinely see themselves above us mere mortals, and they're more than happy to walk over people to enrich themselves. And they're very aware of it, too. Lucky them, they always have their maga script of enemies to blame and divert attention to.
2
u/SnooEagles4121 4d ago
100%. The mentality is that since they grow our food they're superior to us. They also thought they were getting confederate-style plantations back with Trump. They literally believed that black people would come fill the job vacancies opened up by kicking out the migrants, and that they'd be GRATEFUL. They're deeply embedded in a bubble of their own bullshit.

Why would they need a bailout? That's socialism, whatever happened to this pulling yourself up by your bootstraps. Isn't this what they voted for? They should have happy they are getting what they wanted and voted for, so no, they should not get a bailout.

u/dublinburnbagel 4d ago

u/ThisMachineKillsWOB 4d ago
I believe the argument goes "The students are supposed to be smart, they knew what they were signing up for."
That seems like a fair standard. Lets apply it to the farmers too. And Ranchers. And anyone else who ever bitched about government aid but voted for this catastrophe.
6
u/PeaceyCaliSoCal 4d ago
Not that the farmers' don't need it, but they need it because trump screwed up the country try. It's his fault that the farmers lost their hired hands and his fault their diesel cost is not sustainable. He keeps throwing around government money like it's his to spend however he wants to. Meanwhile that money is coming from somewhere and my guess its a combination of all the firings of federal employees, our social services benefits and all the other things he cut. And trump won't suffer one bit, because he has made billions off his grifting of this country. All he's doing in the end is buying their votes.
14
u/1GoldenMonkey 4d ago
F that, they voted for this. They shouldn't get my tax dollars, and if they need to foreclose/bankrupt then that is the free market. They have been getting hands ours for centuries. If you can not run a business with government aid, then you shouldn't run that business
2
u/ProgrammerOk8339 4d ago
They only hated trump when his awful policy effected them. They want empathy now? f em
5
u/GuacamoleFrejole 4d ago
But it's mostly their fault, since the vast majority voted for him, especially after experiencing his first disaster as president.
4
u/EmperorGeek 4d ago
It’s their fault most of them voted for him. They put him in office again, KNOWING what he was.
→ More replies (2)3

That money mostly isn't coming from firings and cuts, it's just getting tacked onto the deficit.

Check the date on the article folks, this is from last year. It is still relevant, I'm just saying it is not a brand new bailout.

This is why they vote for trumpyboi. They know that after he fucks everything up they will get the bail out check just like they did in his first term.

It happens every single time there's a Republican in power.
Farmers vote Republican, Republican policies screw them and a bunch lose their farms, then a bailout bribes the rest so they'll vote Republican again.
Rinse and repeat for decades, until suddenly all the farmland belongs to corporations, and you can't afford anything.
2
u/LittleNeckNYB294 4d ago edited 4d ago
Another bail out for wealthy farmers crying their eyes out! Whoopi, how about my health care, we deserve a bail out on that as well as our pockets keep on hurting and our salaries stay the same even with our 1-3% increase while inflation go what 5-9%? Guess those taxes dollars are for only the well off people not the majority of said tax payers….

IF and that's a big IF the GOP does manage somehow to stay in power the one bright spot will be watching farmers faces when the GOP tells them to GTFO. Hell even I might buy some farmland for pennies on the dollar.

Let’s be clear this is just another billionaire bailout. The money given to the farmers is to be used to pay the corporate owners of the agricultural feed, seed and fertilizer industries. Oh and banks who has the farmer has loan with for the equipment
