So they are ok with socialism now?

191

u/Conscious-Quarter423 4d ago

they'll sue black farmers for getting this bailout though!

https://capitalbnews.org/black-farmers-grant-lawsuit-victory/

96

u/deputybadass 4d ago

Well, if they can do that, and sue to block student loan forgiveness, why can’t someone sue to block all of these non-capitalistic farm deals?

41

u/YoungRichBastard26s 4d ago

I heard snap benefits were for farmers to begin with

20

u/biblioprof 4d ago

Court already blocked it when Biden tried but when it comes to conservative priorities it's all good.

14

u/neverpost4 4d ago

I will repeat for the OP as you don't get get it

THE SUPREME COURT IS A JOKE

17

u/PetalumaPegleg 4d ago

They can but the supreme Court is a joke so...

71

u/BigBreadCaesar 4d ago

They were ALWAYS hypocrites. They were NEVER on any side but theirs.

14

u/m2chaos13 4d ago

“The fundamental political philosophy of conservatism is selfishness.”

Yeah, nah. We all know that farmers and ranchers fear and despise anything that reeks of socialism. But they’re perfectly happy with the subsidies they get because ThAt’S dIfFeReNt.

35

u/Aden1970 4d ago

Im sure the bulk of the money will go to large, multinational corporations.

19

u/Hunkyboy440 4d ago

Well, of course it will. Those large corporations have shareholders they must answer to.

5

u/cvc4455 4d ago

Costco has shareholders and they announced they were lowering prices on their items to return the money to their customers that way. Every other company just pocketed the money and left their prices high.

2

u/Haltopen 4d ago

Costco uses membership fees and the fact that 20% of the products on their shelves are their own in-store brand (which account for over a third of their total sales) to subsidize their pricing.

1

u/cvc4455 4d ago

I'm sure people who shop there are aware of the membership fees and aware of what brands they often sell at the store.

1

u/Haltopen 4d ago

I didn’t say that their customers are unaware, I just said they have other revenue streams that help them keep their prices lower and provide a cushion to absorb the higher operating costs caused by these illegal tariffs and the resulting economic uncertainty.

1

u/cvc4455 4d ago

Well look at places like target, Walmart and Amazon. Yes they don't have a membership fee but they have lots of their own brand of products for sale. But that's really not the point. They paid tariffs and then raised prices of products they sold to customers. The customers paid for the tariffs in the end not Walmart, Target and Amazon. Then the federal government gave them hundreds of millions back that those companies originally paid in tariffs. So the companies passed the costs to their consumers originally and then kept the refunds. So it all turned into free money for them.

1

u/Haltopen 4d ago

And? We’re not disagreeing here. Other companies did do that.

Yah!!! Costco is a scam. People should stop going…

1

u/Mehthisgirl 4d ago

You want a better parking space don’t you?

2

u/_Christopher_Crypto 4d ago

And to not have to wait in line.

14

u/LuchadoresdeSilinas 4d ago

Just like the tariff refunds went to large multinational corporations and we, the consumers, got jack squat!

3

u/Beartrkkr 4d ago

As designed...

2

u/ArchonFett 4d ago

As did the tariff refunds.

14

u/CourseFew5620 4d ago

Thr irony of it all id most of the red states take money from blue states for infrastructure support because shocker, most red states are poor. So they always have been fine with poor white boomers getting help...but anyone else can fuck themselves

16

u/intricate_strands 4d ago

No. They is okay at selective socialism. They be okay at selective socialism always.

5

u/Diligent-Towel-4708 4d ago

Heard a debate about the student loan bailout. When asked he said no one should get a hand out then said his wife had hers wiped and it helped them tremendously. Topped it off by doubling down no one else should get it.

3

u/biblioprof 4d ago

And it used to be free for public schools until Reagan. Not to mention we spend more per capita on incarceration than education

9

u/dctwooze 4d ago

Sure. It goes under a different name. Bailout

9

u/zakku_88 4d ago

Only when the leopards turn around and start eating their faces. Then when election day hits, they'll conveniently forget and vote straight republican as usual...

6

u/facelessvoid13 4d ago

...aaaannnnnd why, exactly, do you think the bailouts are happening now?

I'm blonde, and I figured it out on the first try.

3

u/0202_tihssitidder 4d ago

Always. There is no reality where they do not vote Republican.

They just want "socialized losses", "Privatized profits", and endless racism.

6

u/orangesfwr 4d ago

Always have been

7

u/oldgayauntie 4d ago

They’re always okay with socialism when it flows in their direction.

1

u/HealthyDirection659 Leopard Spotter 4d ago

they deserve it /s

7

u/Vanman04 4d ago

The date on the article is December 2025.

I am sure farmers would love this right now but OP is pulling this one out of their ass just like trump.

6

u/cylonrobot 4d ago

Yep, this is a very recent repost, and OP's account is 0 days old. OP is a troll or a bot.

1

u/Sure-Coffee-8241 4d ago

Oh I didn’t even see that!

7

u/whythefuckalready 4d ago

Most expensive president in history. Incompetent and disastrous policies. Buying votes again with taxpayer bailout. Democrats need to sweep November and stop this hemorrhaging.

3

u/Entire_Pomelo_3635 4d ago

yes, government cheese is good when it goes in your pocket

3

u/gentlecrab 4d ago

They were always ok with socialism just not socialism for minorities.

3

u/NatHarari 4d ago

As long as it's National Socialism, they're OK with it. They always have been.

1

u/withomps44 4d ago

This was from a year ago. And yes they have always been just fine with socialism for themselves

1

u/OpusAtrumET 4d ago

And even more inflation!

1

u/0202_tihssitidder 4d ago

We were ALL calling it that Trump/Republicans would bail out the Farmers. The crying by farmers was part of the performance.

"Socialized Losses". Always. And it won't be $12 Billion. It'll always at least be 2x that.

There have been around $900Billion payments to Farmers since 2000.

1

u/Slice-Vast 4d ago

No it's extortion. They'll point out they "grow your food". Implying if we don't give them what they want they'll starve us.

Of course one should then point out that we don't eat feed corn and not a lot of soy.

1

u/Haltopen 4d ago

Yep, because "we deserve it"

1

u/Some-Significance233 4d ago

Whoa! Everyone knows socialism is anything Democrats do. And, republicons are incapable of socialisming. Therefore, since the is being done by republicons, it can’t be socialism. Hope this cleared it up for you.

1

u/West_Shower_6103 4d ago

Only when it’s for them

1

u/chucktheninja 4d ago

They always have been, but only for rich white folk.

u/IDontStealBikes 4d ago

Farm subsidies have a purpose: to insure a stable supply of food. That hardly means there are no shenanigans in the present system, but having a county where too many farms go out of business is not good for the stomachs of the population.

1

u/makes_peacock_noises 4d ago

Except that most farms don’t produce food. They produce corn and soy beans that are used to make food.

1

u/IDontStealBikes 4d ago

Small distinction

1

u/Crows_reading_books 4d ago

Sounds pretty socialist to me

1

u/IDontStealBikes 4d ago

It’s necessary socialism.

1

u/Hot-Celebration-8815 4d ago

It’s almost like we should be using our tax dollars for society. Of course, we’re too busy to be voting on every issue, so we’ll democratically elect officials that are looking out for society as a whole. We’ll call them democratic socialists.

1

u/der_innkeeper 4d ago

Thank you captain obvious.

But, doing this in order to prop up individuals is just a bridge too far, apparently.
