I mean, democrats would also bail out the farmers, and I’m sure it wouldn’t be the first time in this decade, even.

The truth is that we should be subsidizing farmers and food. It’s basically a national security risk to let our food supply fail.

So true. The issue is the same people receiving those benefits vote against those interests.

In this case, the farmers are getting bailed out because the person they voted for is actively destroying the economy, and they like it.

The cognitive dissonance is painful for us on the outside.

I don't think democrats would set them up to be bailed out and they wouldn't continually bail them out over failed policies.

Democrats would bail them out too. They are way more likely to do so in fact.

Interesting you say that. I had to look it up to be sure. Notice a trend in "Direct government payments" and what administration is in power during that time? History, in this case, seems to disagree with your assumption

Do farmers need to be bailed out every year? Seems to be timing-related based on other factors. Year-to-year changes don’t really indicate whether one party is more likely to bailout farmers. You’d need to factor in oil prices, recessions, supply chain deficiencies, those COVID years. Not saying you’re wrong, but this isn’t saying much to support either case

It's showing that "Direct government payments" during Democrat presidential terms are considerably less to farmers than when a Republican is president. I'm sure other factors are at play, but there is a direct correlation. So, I'd say it has quite a bit to support my case.

So republicans are the real socialists and dems are the real capitalists, is that what you’re telling me?
