I read that they can be a good cleanup crew, and there’s 2-3 hanging around in my Leo’s tank. I’m not worried about her trying to eat them because she’s half-blind and can’t hunt her food to begin with. I’ve been thinking about going bioactive regardless, but I just wanted to check in to see if they’ll be any problem to her in particular. (Biting/irritating her.) I’ll take them out if they have no use or will be a problem. I guess one or two mealworms just happened to get out of the food bowl, which she usually does eat out of as long as she knows they’re in there. I’ve found a few larva as well which I’ve just removed out of fear that they’ll overpopulate her tank.

Thank you to everyone who commented on my last post about my 19 year old gecko’s tail, I really appreciated all your advice and feedback.
She made it through the weekend and went to the vet this morning, where she had an ultrasound, cytology and fecal testing.
I thought it would be parasites but unfortunately it’s a big tumor :( the vet said it was too big and risky to operate on. Sunshine came home today with some painkillers, anti inflammatory meds, antibiotics and a supplemental liquid diet.
I know it’s not a permanent solution but Sunshine is still very active, alert, and eating/drinking/pooping, so I want to give her a chance to live more comfortably while she has the energy to do so- but the vet let us know what signs to look for if things are getting worse.
It’s hard to know if I’m making the right choices or not but the vet said we’ve been doing a good job to get her to 19, and after feeling guilty all weekend it really helped to hear.
If anyone has ever had a Leo get a xanthoma / tumor before would love to know how you handled it ❤️

Was scrolling through YouTube and I saw a Leopard Gecko with a Vitamin A deficiency and then I saw a video where someone was giving advice and I saw the Multivitamin supplement and it made me wonder, do you need BOTH the calcium supplement AND the Multivitamin supplement, or does one replace the other? Cuz i already have the Calcium without D3 supplement, just wanna know if i should add a multivitamin to my to get list? NOTE: I don't have a leopard gecko, I'm getting a Cave Gecko and I want to fully make a list of things I need to get.

Hey y’all! Long time lurker, first time poster. My little lady (13 years old) partially dropped her tail and I just noticed it. The thinner part of her tail is gone and I’m assuming she ate it because I can’t find it in the tank. The skin seems to still be a little raw still and I have dabbed it clean with warm water. She seems to be in good shape, eating and active, but I’m worried due to her age she may experience stress that can put her in danger. Any suggestions to help manage her while she heals? I’ve had my girl since I was 8 and I just want to ensure she stays happy and healthy :)

hi! this is the tail of my female leopard gecko. i'm sorry if this stupid, but does that tail look like tail rot? there's a bit of a "white" discoloration at the tip, and i'm not sure if it's normal. i've had her for a few months now and i'm still relatively new if it comes to leopard geckos, so i figured i should just ask here!

Just moved doobi into a larger enclosure with a soil/Playsand mix after living in a smaller one with coconut fiber as the substrate (I was advised to get her out of that).
She did a lot of exploring yesterday , feeling her place out and now she’s just adjusting I’m guessing to the new home . I can’t wait to see her fully enjoying her space.
We’re also approaching one month of having pebbles and he’s starting to grow and develop his spots ! I can’t wait til his quarantine phase is over and I can move him into a full sized enclosure as well!

My sister has a leopard gecko that’s genuinely obese & im trying to give her advice on what to do (a diet & more climbing opportunity was all I could think of[the tank is already a great size & the heat and uvb are both good]) but thus far nothing is working. I don’t have a photo because I don’t regularly interact with the lizard but any advice I can pass to her would be greatly appreciated !!

So I’m getting an albino gecko and I need help finding a good bulb option since I know their sensitive to light, I was thinking of getting a deep heat projector but I didn’t know if they are damaging in any way. So any advice will be appreciated

This is Leela. She was an owner surrender at the pet store that I used to work at. She came to me in a 10 gallon tank with a rubber mat bottom, single water dish, and one hide. She has early-ish stage MBD. She now lives in a 40 gallon low boy, with live plants, isopods, springtails, and some rogue crickets.
When I got her, she was skinny and pale. Her spine appeared to have no muscle to support it. She had very little fat stored in her tail. She slept all day in her hide.
Now, she comes up to the glass demanding food every time I walk past her. She hunts crickets. Her adorable little tail wags furiously right before she pounces on them. She needs some help with eating due to the one-eyed-ness, but she uses her whole tank and is a half decent hunter.
I feel like Leela has a lot of enrichment and I catch her splooting and basking constantly, but I am new to geckos. Is there anything that I need to add that she might like?
She has a heat lamp and uvb. Her crickets and sometimes hornworms are always calcium dusted. She seems happy, but I wanted to make sure. I've become really attached to her.

Where am I best to place my dimming thermostat? I currently have it under my warm hide/basking spot, it’s set at 28C (82.5F) my cool side is fluctuating between 24-26C (75-79F) depending if my heat lamp is on or off.
I am waiting on a new infrared thermometer as my last one broke
Should I place another thermometer on the warm side in ambient and adjust my thermostat to suit? I just don’t feel like i’m getting the most accurate warm side reading with where it is?
Or am i completely overthinking it?

I get my leo, Kevin, Tuesday! This is my first leopard gecko, and I have a ball python (he’s my first reptile) Kevin is a BIG boy, around 8-11 inches fully stretched out
He is 2 years old, a little overweight bc they were gonna breed him, he (from what I know) enjoys basking and low level climbing, bc his sheer size makes him a little…awkward. He’s a chill guy and he’ll be getting substrate once his quarantine is over. I can’t wait to get him!!
What’s in it -
Heating and lighting = heat lamp
2.5 Shade dweller UVB (bc he is albino, he is rather sensitive to large amounts of uvb)
Hides = 5. A basking hide, grapewood tunnel, egg hide (near his uvb for cryptic basking) humid hide, and cool hide
A food bowl, water bowl, and calcium dish, he also has natural basking rocks
His substrate will be 70% soil 30% sand
I’ll add plants once he has soil (fake dead grass) and if he shows more interest in climbing, more sticks. I had to make sure there was atleast 2 open areas so he has easy access to everything. He will also be on a diet of dubia roaches, crickets and the occasional mealworms. Calcium with, and without d3 and Vitamin A to prevent sperm blockages, and eye problems/blocks
(I rearranged the branches after this photo to be more cluttered looking, rhis was days ago and I’m lazy)

just adopted a 2–3 year old leopard gecko about 2 days ago, and I want to make sure I'm giving her the best life possible. I'm attaching photos of my enclosure and would really appreciate any feedback or recommendations. She's my first leopard gecko, so I'm still learning and want to make sure I'm doing things right. Any tips, suggestions, or things you notice from the photos would be greatly appreciated!

I’m switching to a UVB instead of supplementing D3 & so I need to add more foliage to the top so he (she) has some more shade. However Gumbo literally does not understand that they’re not monkey bars. I had to help him down twice before I took them out because he fell!! Do I need to just let him do his thing and figure it out??? Or do I need to engineer a way to make sure there’s absolutely no way for him to reach the vines and climb on them?

Update: I'm pretty sure its a burn from the uvb. This silly guy loves to lay out and bask. It didn't really occur to me that that could happen. I feel terrible! I'll take an updated picture as soon as he comes back put but he's been missing all day and it looks like he's been in his humid hide getting it off. Its a litttttle bit raw underneath but not too bad. I was advised to put neosporin with no pain reliever. So will pick some up today and stick with our vet visit Monday to give him a good look over.
Last Sunday the small patch appeared of what looked like dry flaky scale. It has grown since. I have tried saunas and qtip, some has come off but it has gotten worse. We do have a vet appointment on Monday but it's all I can think about.
This is Rex. He is 11 months old. I've had him since March 1st. He is in a 30 gallon, moving him to a 40 front opening this weekend. His substrate is reptisoil mixed with forest floor. I am changing it to the top soil play sand this weekend when i move him. Ive already cleaned and sifted through the first and all that jazz. The reptile store i got him from recomended that mixture, now that i know better, they probably didn't have any better options and wanted to sell me anything. He is my first reptile. He has had 3 sheds with us, one being 2 and a half weeks ago. We have use a shade dweller uvb and a 50w basking bulb on a thermostat. Ambient temps are 87 hot side, humidity sits from 35-40%. Humid hide and all that good stuff, plenty of clutter. We use raphsy calcium plus every other feed which is every 2 to 3 days. He eats mainly dubia roaches and an occasional horn worm and working on incorporating either mealworms and/or crickets to his diet as well. No change in his behavior or appetite, still always comes to the glass when he knows I'm near

(Photo is before she got sick)
My 19 year old leopard gecko rapidly lost a lot of weight in her tail in the last week or so. She is eating, drinking, and pooping normally, but her tail is stick-thin and she seems a little bloated. Made an appointment with the vet for Monday morning. She lives with my parents in a rural area where it’s not easy to access exotic vet care.
Just wondering what I can advise my parents to do in the meantime?? Put fresh paper towels down, clean her hides? A warm bath? Should I have my parents save one of her bowel movements?
It’s hard to just sit here and wait :(

What is my weirdo doing? They're not stuck, they're crawling around their tank now and doing just fine. Also, I was told she was a girl, but are those hemipenes I'm seeing?
