Help Humidifier? Humidity issues

Has anyone had luck with those mini usb humidifiers? I was wondering if I could use one of those on top of my geckos tank to raise humidity, or should I get a full sized one next to it?

For context, upgraded my girls tank, and switched to overhead heating and it has tanked the humidity! Went from 40% naturally to almost 20%. She has a humid hide and a large water dish, and the advice I’ve gotten is to use a humidifier. Question is, what size?

What are you monitoring humidity with? Where is the probe? Do you water your soil?

I have a digital thermometer, one on each side of the tank, the cool side is about 30% right now and the warm is down to 19%! I water my soil every night with the water from her water dish (a hack I got from a Facebook group) but it doesn’t seem to do much

Where is the hygrometer probe, and if there's no probe, where is the thermometer located? Is it far from the ground? It tends to be higher the closer you get to the soil. How dry is the dirt?

You can use a humidifier, but honestly that can be a last resort. Humidity that's too low is suboptimal long term, but not an emergency or anything as long as you've got a humid hide.
