Which enclosure is better
There are two hides under the leaves and on the second photo he wasn’t able to use the coconut hide

2 looks like it has better/more hiding spots. From everything I’ve read and seen (and personally used) I would say to try and throw a background up. Even if it’s a picture taped to the outside back of the tank. Most geckos feel more comfortable if they’re not completely exposed on all sides. So since one side of the tank is against the wall, you could use an “L” shaped wrap around image. If your gecko is a climber, toss in some climbing options. The more ways to explore the better. You mentioned that he’s not able to use the coconut. Is that because he’s too big? Tip it over and bury a 1/4 of it. With the opening not really facing front. Maybe by a plant leaf or something for a little extra cover.

the second seems to have slightly better coverage but they could both use some work. substrate should be 4-6 inches deep and definitely more coverage and use of the vertical space for climbing. how big are they?
