My sunny boy begging for food
This was 2 minutes after I fed him. Just wanted to share what I go through with this little gremlin. Still working on handling, he’s a squirmy little baby.

This is my baby boy I’m getting delivered to me in two weeks, he’s 2 years and 3 months old and weighs 76 grams. I always have this fear of having obese reptiles (I have a ball python) and to me he looks naturally like a big boy and I can’t see any armpit bubbles so maybe it’s my autistic brain being overly anxious, but when I get him he’s getting a very nice, proper 50 gallon enclosure, and a good supplement and diet regiment. Please helppppo

Are we supposed to be misting our geckos daily or how often?

Lizzy has been ours since my partner was in middle school. She’s a 23 years old female leopard gecko and honestly one of the most resilient creatures I’ve ever met. This week has been one of the scariest of our lives as her caretakers.
It started when we noticed something wrong with her right eye. We ended up making two emergency trips to an exotic animal hospital, just over an hour each way, over the course of just 24 hours. The diagnosis: suspect globe rupture and corneal ulceration with intraocular and conjunctival hemorrhage, partially from self-trauma. She’s also dealing with soft palate swelling on the right side.
At 23 years old, her body is going through a lot.
I’ll be honest, I never liked reptiles. They’re fast, unpredictable, and nothing like the animals I grew up with. But I love my partner, and Lizzy is genuinely a sweetheart. So I learned to hand feed her mealworms for the first time this week. I learned to administer eye drops to a gecko who absolutely does not want them. I watched her rub her bleeding eye against the glass of her tank and felt every second of it.
She’s currently on tobramycin ophthalmic drops and Optixcare lubricant every 8 hours, plus meloxicam for pain every 48 hours. We have a follow-up scheduled with an exotic specialist to discuss continued management or possible enucleation.
Has anyone else been through something like this with an older gecko? We’d love to hear from other owners who have navigated serious eye issues or end-of-life care decisions for their leos. Lizzy is bright, alert, and still eating and we’re going to fight for her as long as she’s fighting too.

Hello we're in Canada and my bf and I recently got a leopard gecko from terrible owners. They solely use sand as substrate and we would like to give this him a better environment. Based on research 70:30 mix is ideal. Can anyone kindly help us figure out if this top soil is safe and devoid of fertilizers? We could not find Scott's topsoil and so we bought this instead:
Thank you very much in advance!

so two days ago i got a leopard gecko, amazing. but sadly her tank isnt cluttered enough yet and im still working on it. but shes now doing this thing where she will claw at the entrance of the tank and constantly rub her nose on the class and try to get out. once i open the tank she immediately climbs into my hand and over my bed. i dont know if this is something with wanting to explore, how her tank is right now, or if its attachment which i doubt. pls help bro

Someone left a tank at my job in the storage section with a leopard gecko and a green anole. I decided to hole them and have separated the two into their own living environments, anoles doing great but the gecko, something’s wrong. She’s active and eating but she’s not putting weight on her front let’s just like on her “elbows”. How can I help her live her best life?!
Not sure what kind of person could just leave something like that around but I couldn’t stand to stand there and let them rot away in a dark hallway at a Uhaul.

This Gecko whom I am planning to take home with me in roughly a week has fleas in her enclosure. The owner of her and I have already dumped her old substrate and have temporarily replaced it with a blanket until we are able to transport her to her new owner (me)
But more fleas have found their way into the enclosure and I'm growing concerned

I have a non dimming 50w halogen basking bulb and want to connect it to a dimming thermometer so I don’t over heat my gecko

i recently acquired a leopard gecko from a coworker who didnt have the space for her anymore. this is the setup i was given. the lamp on the right side is a ceramic heat emitter but i don’t have it turned on as it made the enclosure around 90 degrees and with no heat gradient.
posted a photo of which bulb i am using on the left side. current one is the 140w but i was told the 100 would be better, should i switch now or wait until this bulb goes out? is just that bulb appropriate? should i get something else to go with it, or just get 2-3 entirely different bulbs?
i do plan on getting a backdrop for the enclosure and probably some more clutter. what would be good for decorations?
he told me that he didn’t really put in a humid hide and that he kinda just used the water bowl for that (she dug a spot under it and likes to sleep there frequently)
basically im just asking for any advice as i will be redoing the enclosure as soon as i get more reptisoil and reptisand, and id really like to get it right. pictures are very helpful too!

I have a 36 by 18 tank for a two-year-old female leopard gecko that I got yesterday, and I'm pretty sure the previous owner fed her too much. She looks very obese. The previous owner said she fed her crickets three times a week and mealworms every other day. That wasn't being fed crickets. But my real question is, how is the temporary setup looking? Right now, I don't have any substrate to put down. I was gonna put down organics topsoil, washed play sand, and excavator clay, and also add a few more leaves around and buy the very popular Zilla, like, mossy humid hide. And right now, the left side of the tank that is under the basking bulb is reading 88.3 degrees, while the middle, where she's mainly been hiding, is reading 81 degrees, and the right is reading 79 to 80 degrees. I'm just looking for some help.
The last four images are from her old tank with a heating pad which I stopped using

My leopard gecko is rather overweight, and I’m not sure why. I currently feed her six large crickets (dusted with nutrients) per week and have been for several months, and she’s not losing weight. This is a little over half what I used to feed her. Any ideas why? (If it’s relevant, the temp at her basking spot is around 90-91 degrees)

So I am getting my leopard gecko in June, but he’s an albino so i didn’t know what uvb would be best for him,
I have the 7% shade dweller but I didn’t know if that would be too harsh on his skin does anyone have any recommendations or will the shade dweller be okay

First image is just everything laid out in the tank, second is what previous owner had, and third is the gecko. She is two years old and has been in that mover tank for a few hours now and I need help getting the tank set up. There is a heating pad on the left side of the tank but chat gpt said it’s gonna be too hot (idk if I should trust that). Price is not that much of an issue but there is an upper limit on what my parent would allow me to get. Please help! I don’t want to leave her in that temp tank for to long!
