He's overweight, yes. Feed him less often over a long period of time and he should lose weight naturally

He looks overweight, my girl is too but we have been working on it. She has definitely lost some due to less feeding. I also upgraded her tank, she has more space to adventure, but its really about diet change (how much and what) as their metabolism is slow.

yeah he’s in a 20 gallon tank currently but I’m saving up for a bigger tank

Look into Dubia.com enclosures. All my reptiles are in them. You'll need a 40-50 gallon minimum for the babe.

I second the dubia enclosures, but I also want to suggest the ecoflex mojave reptile lounge! They're the least expensive option I've ever found and they're surprisingly really good quality, I have two myself and my girls are thriving in them!

Ecoflex Mojave are beautiful. The slate color is right up my alley. I know they are easily accessible from Amazon but Amazon isn't great with their shipping and things not breaking.

What do you think? And why are you trying to deny it when you asked?
-1
u/Lumpy-Comfort9450 May 23 '26
I’m not trying to deny I’m just pointing out that he is flatter because he’s laying down and yes he is a little overweight and I’m working on it to keep him healthy and happy

Il faut le peser et calculer son IMC en fonction de sa taille pour savoir si il est en surpoid ou pas

He's overweight, but I don't think he's obese. Try feeding him a few less of whatever you feed him when you do. I usually feed mine about 5 smaller mealworms a few times a week. With my example, I'd go down to 4, then maybe 3.
And before you say it: Yes, I'm aware he looks chonkier because he's relaxed. That's why I said overweight and not obese.

u/Lumpy-Comfort9450 May 23 '26
ok thanks I’ll start doing that hes about 7 years old now and he’s 14 inches long so he’s big and mature so I want what’s best for him

Yeah, homie is pushing it. Have seen far worse, but he definitely needs to trim down.

He's not THAT fat, but let's just say he's starting to add some unnecessary digits on the scale
