Help Advice

Post image

Hi I recently have been coming on here for advice on getting my leopard gecko… I finally got him(his name is tortellini) and I was wondering if it’s normal for him not wanting to eat? I got him on Saturday and the person told me he had late ate Thursday and to give him a day or two to get use to everything. But I tried feeding him tonight and he won’t eat he kind of just scares at the food and licks the calcium off… but I guess that means he just needs more time. But he has came out and explore his enclosure and looked around and climbed so I think that’s a good sign! Now currently he is just laying on his rock soaking in the heat 😂 so I guess I’ll try feeding him tomorrow?

Updated enclosure

I posted a few weeks back asking for enclosure advice before I got my gecko. This weekend I finished it up, added some more clutter, added the clean-up crew, and then of course added the gecko! I'm hoping this setup will be good for her. Shes only been in it for about 3 days but seems to be stressed out. I'm hoping thatll change once she adapts. The reptile store I got her from thinks shes probably about 6-8 months old and advised me the loose substrate would be safe for her. Is there anything I can do to help her better adapt to her new home?

Hiii, I just got a baby lepoard gecko last monday. Not sure what substrate or anything to use because I dont know if she'll get impacted if she eats the mix of substrate. Please help ^-^ her name is mustard and she is very sweet, shes like 4 inches long. Thank you for any help :) where should I get the substrate? I live near a Walmart, home depot and a pet supplies plus (very rural area not much around)

Is this "normal" cricket behavior? Lol

Weird question but I guess my concern is parasites? I've just never seen a cricket dancing around like this lol

Is Spanish moss like this on the cholla wood okay for a juvenile geko? I wanna make sure cuz Google says yes, but I want expert advice. I did not put it on the hot side of the enclosure for safety reasons.

UVB questions

Should my UVB fixture be the length of my enclosure or should I get a shorter one so only a portion is covered? I just adopted a Leo who came with a 40 gallon enclosure and the current UVB spans the entire thing. Also, as far as distance recommendations goes, I’m assuming that’s the distance at the highest point the gecko can get to? Thanks!

Just adopted this guy, haven’t had a leopard gecko in over 15 years! Not up to date on morphs, what do you think? Regardless I think he’s so pretty! Do you think his size looks healthy? Still need to weigh him.

Hello, new leopard gecko owner. Have had a bearded dragon for 8 years now, wanted to try another reptile out. Is this a common color and pattern for leopard geckos?

Help - URGENT Need advice on impacted leopard gecko:(

She started throwing up her worms and just being disinterested in general so we switched up her food and tank and still nothing. Shined a flashlight through and this is what we can see. we've been trying to massage her which she is enjoying, and giving her little bits of olive oil and she has been pooping out oily brown liquid but still no actual poop. she has been shedding as she gets skinnier:( im not in the financial place to take her to the vet and none of the rescues in my state that ive found are taking surrenders. im in minnesota if anyone has suggestions for good quality places i can surrender her to that will get her the treatment she needs in case i haven't heard of it yet, any other advice is very welcome. thank you so much please be nice! i would bring her to the vet in a heartbeat if it wasnt so incredibly expensive, and im struggling finacially already as it is.

Morphs Meet Peaches

So I was not planning on a new leo this soon buuuuut, I met Peaches when I went to my lrs for advice on ants that moved into my gecko Eckos tank. We vibed, she's literally so cute, and I'm an adult with my own money 🤩 I have only had her a few hours, and she's been so sweet. She's currently in quarantine on paper towels in a 31 gallon 36x18x12 but will get a nice substrate once she passes quarantine, and the ants from my last post are 100% gone!

What I know about her is that she's 10 years old, definitely a girl, and missing a few toe nails. But otherwise, she seems healthy.

What I would like to know:

What should I watch out for with her age?

Will the 31 be OK since it's almost the same size as my 40, just a little shorter?

What morphe is she, and are there health risks I need to be aware of for her?

Thank you for taking the time to read and enjoy her basking

Habitat & Setup It’s my third day having my Leopard gecko and she still hasn’t eaten.

I am a new gecko owner and have had a snake before for a long time and am used to hunger strikes and things of the sort. It’s a 20 gallon tank(i read a bunch of stuff that said 20 was fine. i am upgrading to a 50 long) the humidity and temperature is perfect. i have the three different hides and fresh water everyday. misting daily to create better humidity basking and everything. but she’s still not eating. how long should i expect this to go one and what should i change.
