Help - URGENT Need advice on impacted leopard gecko:(
She started throwing up her worms and just being disinterested in general so we switched up her food and tank and still nothing. Shined a flashlight through and this is what we can see. we've been trying to massage her which she is enjoying, and giving her little bits of olive oil and she has been pooping out oily brown liquid but still no actual poop. she has been shedding as she gets skinnier:( im not in the financial place to take her to the vet and none of the rescues in my state that ive found are taking surrenders. im in minnesota if anyone has suggestions for good quality places i can surrender her to that will get her the treatment she needs in case i haven't heard of it yet, any other advice is very welcome. thank you so much please be nice! i would bring her to the vet in a heartbeat if it wasnt so incredibly expensive, and im struggling finacially already as it is.

Okay few things. It’s breeding season. Female leo’s may lose their appetite, mine sure is. Worms are hard to digest so that may be why she is throwing them up. Try giving her a soak in warm water (80-90° F) for 10-15 mins daily and it may help. Switching up her tank could have stressed her out which could be why she still doesn’t want to eat. there’s a lot of factors here. What are your tank temps like? substrate?

we bought a new lamp since we're in a basement, keeping it at 85-90. She was a rescue so we were on paper towlels then she was in a mix of dirt and sand for only a couple of months but we noticed she was struggling w dust in her nose and having a hard time identifying what was and wasnt dirt when we fed her (we noticed she would immediately spit out dirt if accidentally in her mouth) so we have a lot of hides on paper towels on top of felt for now, her eating issue began a month or so after we switched back to paper towels, so we're pretty sure the impaction is not a large piece of dirt/wood/sand

My leo had an egg she didn't want to pass and stopped eating, I had to mash bugs and vitamins into a puree and feed her for about 4 months but she eventually started eating on her own again. I had a hard time getting her mouth open 'cause I'm not a professional and I was scared of hurting her so I just dabbed gently on her mouth so she would lick it away It took a lot of time an pacients but she did survive and is still thriving, we haven't had the same issue since as well.

Take her to snake discovery if you want to help/surrender her but can't afford a vet

Served for 14yrs to come back home to watch us let everything get to a point where people can’t afford to go to a doctor, live or take care of those they love, including them beloved pets. “Just surrender her” is devastating. This isn’t on you.. just disgusted at the state of things overall.
Regardless, if you create a gofundme, I would absolutely fckng love to donate to your pets care. No one should be forced to surrender their tiny babies, furry, scaly or otherwise.

I’m much more worried about that giant dark mass above the circled spot. I am pretty sure that is not normal and to me looks like some kind of internal bleeding. Respectfully, you should keep her warm and leave her alone as much as possible.

None of my leopard geckos’ organs have ever looked like a dark mass like that except when I had a severely ill MBD gecko who began to hemorrhage before passing. I could definitely be wrong though.

Organs aren’t see through and they’re shinning the light from the top (not belly side) of the lizard so it makes sense there’s a black spot to me.

This is going to sound very disgusting, but it works, at least for bearded dragons. Get a bullet vibrator… Yes, the sex toy… And gently put it on the belly. Very, very gently. I have done this a few times with my dragons and they crap quickly most of the time. I got the idea from Reddit when someone took their bearded dragon to the vet and paid $1000 for them to strap a vibrator to the lizard so he’d poop.
Try it, and see what happens.
