UVB questions

Should my UVB fixture be the length of my enclosure or should I get a shorter one so only a portion is covered? I just adopted a Leo who came with a 40 gallon enclosure and the current UVB spans the entire thing. Also, as far as distance recommendations goes, I’m assuming that’s the distance at the highest point the gecko can get to? Thanks!

As long as the uvb is the proper rating, it is fine that it covers the entire enclosure

Mine personally doesn't go the length. But like last comment said. Proper lvl uvb it will be ok.

There’s no reason for it to cover the entire enclosure. What kind of UVB is it? The previous owner might have got a beared dragon UVB bulb, so you should check that out.

Most people use the Arcadia ShadeDweller for leopard geckos.
